Customer Reviews
Twisted Lands: Origin is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 95.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from FABULOUS - ON MY TOP 10 LIST OF BEST GAMES EVER You are going to love this game. Why? Because it has everything you could want - suspense, great story, and you never know what's around the corner. There is: * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Regular and Expert modes; * Diary (with a map and tasks to do). The graphics are very good - sort of dark and gritty but very clear to see around with good splashes of colour. The graphics added a rapport to the game which I loved. Sound is very good and the music is the same as the other Twisted Lands games which is haunting and beautiful. The hidden object games are slightly interactive straightforward which you will play twice. These are fun to do and items are clear to find. Each HOP takes only a few minutes to do. There are a huge variety of mini-games to do. None of them are boring or frustrating. I've seen them all before but I enjoyed doing them again because I was enjoying the game so much. There is a little box in the right hand corner of your screen and you will be finding items throughout the game to put them in. The map is not interactive and you will be moving around to a lot of different locations. However, if you get stuck then the map shows where tasks are to be performed so you are not traipsing around for nothing. All up the game took me a good 5 hours to play, not hinting or skipping anything. I was disappointed when it ended because I wanted to carry on playing forever. Honestly, this is one of those games that has everything you could want. So go and get this game - you won't be disappointed. I want more games like this. Well done to the developer. Happy playing fishies - this is a gem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this series! I wish there were more games in this series. It's seriously creepy! This is the final chapter in the story and also shows how the town became cursed. It has good mini games, decent HOPs, and the plot is great! The "map" mini game that you have to play over and over got boring after a while, but the rest of the game was worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Couldn't Stop Playing It! This game is addictive. You are a male private detective asked to come to the Island of Tormente by an old friend whose daughter has disappeared. When you arrive you find others have also disappeared and the town is virtually deserted. If you don't like HOS then you won't like this game because it has many -- some back to back and scenes are repeated. However, I do like HOS and found the lists very well hidden in plain sight. I loved the music. I had it low but I could still hear it, but it wasn't intrusive. The visuals are nice albeit a little monochromatic. There is a map which is useless IMHO. It is not a jump map so I saw no redeeming factor in it. I used the hint button to give me directional arrows and that worked fine. There is so much running back and forth -- the challenge is trying to remember where to use the inventory item you've just acquired. Usually the items are used fairly quickly and you don't have endless numbers of items just sitting in inventory. There were 4 puzzles that I didn't care for because there wasn't enough information. However, there is a wonderful walk through so I worked it out. I wish there had been more puzzles. I think the developer missed some golden opportunities. This game is fairly long. Just as I thought it was coming to an end, I was off again opening new scenes and acquiring new items. You should play the demo and read a few reviews. I hope mine was helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great Twisted Lands Adventure Like the others in this series, Origins is a large, long, attractive game that plays like an adventure game with an occassional HOS thrown in. You can pick up and carry objects as well as earn them through the hidden object scenes. The game world is large, but is broken up into sections that are not too hard to navigate. The artwork is very good. The voiceovers vary. The main character (you) does a decent job, but others don't have the accent they should, given the names of the characters and places. Unlike some of the others, there is no time shifting, so only one version of each scene. Now, here's where this game really impressed me... The music is extraordinarily good. If you like the soundtrack to Pirates of the Caribbean, you'll like the music in this game. Full blown orchestra with lots of energy. By all means, dig out your best headphones for this one. The loops are long, so they don't get over repetitive. I went back to Big Fish to see if there is a CE, and if so, if it had a saveable soundtrack, but no such luck. Too, too bad. I would have loved to have been able to keep a few of them to listen to again. The music was done by Strategic Music. They have a web site and an impressive list of games in their client list. You might recognize a few that you've already played. Unfortunately, you can't get the music for this game there, either. You can, however, watch a short video of their orchestra recording a track for a different game. This was a very fun prequil. It sucked me in from the start, and lasted a good long time. Great value, and I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Fun Fun I have not done a review for awhile but this game was a great surprise. Art work is beautiful, sound track not annoying, puzzles just right, HOS clear and not too easy. Hints were great as it guided you which way to go this was my greatest asset. This game has the best story I have seen for for awhile I recommend you take the time to read all letters, notes, files, books found in the game or you will most likely be confused as to what the story is about it is worth the time. If you skip scenes and reading you may feel the game is short. So do not skip anything this is a compelling game do not cheat yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun With Just Enough Challenge and HOGs I really enjoyed playing this game. The story line was intriguing and the 'video' action throughout made it come to life more. There weren't too many HOGs - which I prefer since it seems that too many can make a game a bit tedious. The graphics are great and the voice overs and interaction with various characters enhanced play. It took enough time so feels like a good value. The mini-games were enough of a challenge but not impossible. Overall, I'd highly recommend this game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much to do I absolutely enjoyed this game. There is so much to do and just when you think it is over a whole new area opens up. Needless to say, it is a pretty long game. Well at least for me. I don't use the SG unless I am totally stuck, but it is more fun to figure it out. The graphics are very well done although objects can be very small sometimes. The story is very good, you need to read everything so it will make sense. I will have to get the other two Twisted Lands now, because I enjoyed this one a lot. The map is also very helpful. Lots of walking, but that is what I like. Never got boring. This is truly a gem of a game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Love LOVE this Game!!! Excellent game, I'm still playing it now but have to review it before I forget to. What imagination and creepiness!! I feel like I've been playing it forever but that's not a bad thing! The town part felt a little stretched out but then on to a whole new area with tunnels and cliffs and even more ghosts and creepy atmosphere. Love the score, LOVE the graphics, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes creepy. On top of all that, I appreciate the character I'm playing, his down to earth attitude and the text writing for him. I personally am a little wry so it suits me. I also like how they build suspense with the little thought clouds that pop up in moments of anxiety. Highly enjoyable game - kudos :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as good as the others I think this game is good. The hint button works well by just telling you where to go next and giving you any other info. The music is good and the graphics are also good. The puzzles are not all that hard to do and the HOS are also good. I have play all the twisted lands games and they are worth the money.
