Botanica: Into the Unknown Collector's Edition is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 114.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Botanica deserves 10 stars I am a fan of both of these games with the Botanica title and can not understand anyone giving either less than 5 stars. There is so much innovation to the game with such a good story line, and so much lovely beauty in the visual that I am thoroughly delighted and entertained. I do not usually enjoy the stories so much, but the premise and world we are taken to is unique and refreshing. Try it and see if you agree

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Botanica: Into the Unknown CE I actually played the second game in this series first, Botanica: Earthbound. I loved that game so much that I had to go back to where it all began, and I love this game too! Dr. Wright was a renowned scientist, by this I mean he had quite a reputation for his beliefs of a strange "other" world. His students and colleagues never took him seriously and referred to him as crazy Dr. Wright. His daughter Ellie loved to listen to his theories as a young girl and is now a scientist herself, a Botanist. She was exploring a cave with strange but beautiful flora and managed to open a portal, the same portal that her father entered, never to return! Now you will investigate and explore this strange but beautiful planet and discover your fathers diary. Is he still alive? Is he still in Botanica or has he been captured by Botanicas leader, Queen Kassandra who forbids any talk of Earth? What a refreshing story! This Collectors Edition has an available bonus game where you can explore more of Botanica as a different character. It also has Wallpapers, Cutscenes, Soundtracks (the music is very soothing) Concept Art and of course a built in Strategy Guide. There are also achievements to earn and hidden ladybugs to collect. Ellie has brought along her botany kit which is actually a mini game where you examine flowers and separate the petals in different categories such as spotted petals, or striped petals etc. The mini games are fairly easy such as clicking on pollen spores in the correct order by process of elimination. I liked the game that required you to turn an outer, inner and center disc until each pie shape had two different colors that when mixed together would have the matching color as indicated on each pie shape such as yellow and blue would be the correct colors for the green pie shape. The hidden object scenes are far and few between, but worth the wait, because every item requires an interaction of some kind like finding a pencil sharpener and sharpening a pencil in order to complete a sketch of the sun. This is a great game, and I realize that it's an older game when you see the differences of the graphics alone, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FUN & RELAXING... This has everything I think a Hidden Object/adventure game should have. A good story, beautiful graphics, puzzles that are innovative and fun to solve, not too many HOS - and HOS with puzzles in them. Ellie's computer and botanical set nicely fit into the story. I enjoyed exploring the world of Botanica and I can't wait for the sequel!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not to be missed even if you're not a fan of plants! As the title stated, I am a fan of BoomZap games, so this one I bought without even trying the demo. I think this game is like a combination of Avatar and Atlantis, where you see many strange plants and animals. The game is pretty long, but too bad I don't know how to use the map feature. I don't think the map is interactive. There're few HOS and mostly interactive. Very few items to find. Minigames are abundant and fun, not too difficult. Voice overs are great and there are achievements to collect, although I can't seem to find the bugs that we need to collect throughout the game. I am satisfied playing this game, esp. since I bought it during the sale this weekend. Definitely a game to try, don't let the title put you off, although you're not a fan of flora like me, you'll surely find this game entertaining enough to keep you in your seat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best game I've played so far What a delightful departure from the usual HO game. The scenery was beautiful, the storyline was unique and quite brilliant when you think about it... people trapped in an alternate universe throughout different periods of time, without recollection of their ancestors arriving to the planet. The cutscenes were informative, the story progressed logically, and most of all the game play was so original. This is perfect for the adventure fan, even the HO scenes are more adventure than HO. I found this to be of a higher standard than most games... wish there were more like this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful scenes - very creative I enjoyed this game for more than one reason. The scenery was very beautiful, and creatively put together. The story line was simple, yet encompassed the challenges. Quite often I find the challenges have nothing to do with the story line. Not in this one. I recommend this one for anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning! This game is truly special from fluttering butterflies, floating-two-legged-aerial jellyfish and gorgeous giant lizard through all other spectacular locations and critters. The artists, designers, developers, creators have certainly made magic here. Congratulations for a beautiful game that is a delight to the eye as well as the brain. In this world of doom and gloom, Botanica is full of beauty, colour and light. Interesting, thoughtful and thought-provoking, too!
