The Torment of Whitewall is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT GAME!!!! Just finished the game...wished I had the collector's version. Very well put together. Nice mix of puzzle and HO's. Hidden object scenes were visited more than once...no problem, plenty to find. The character's were good and the voice overs very pleasant. Nice not to have to deal with demons, devils, etc. I highly recommend this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS GAME HAS IT ALL Based on the demo. Great hidden object scenes, creepy storyline, beautiful visuals with equally beautiful and compelling music. The minigames were interesting and challenging. I bought it as soon as I finished the demo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT GAME I really liked this game a lot. I figured out the story line early on but all in all it's a good game. Voice overs where great. All HOG's are gone to a second time. Makes it a bit annoying but not horribly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a really easy going HO game played casual. hints/skips re-charge fast. hints will you where to go and what to do, but it is usually fairly obvious what to do when you get there. interactive map as you unlock locations. you are called in to save a town where the women are disappearing and the rest of the people are leaving out of fear. you figure out what is going on with the help of people in the game that you do favors for. it is pretty fun. graphics are good as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Relaxing Game To Play I enjoyed this game very much. I play games to take my mind off of things so I don't enjoy them if they are too hard. It is full of HOGs and the items are usually easy to see but just hard enough to enjoy. Some interaction is required. The map is useful and the hint button can get you out of a spot if needed. Inventory items are mostly used pretty close. If you are an expert this game will not be to you liking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top-Notch Mystery This game was very entertaining. There were 5-6 HOS in the first hour alone which was delightful. The characters were fun and full of personality. The graphics and storyline were captivating and interesting to look at. There were many interactive elements. I was really pulled into the game and forgot about the real world for an entire hour. 5 Stars!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Really a Surprise. Based on completion of the SE in easy mode (there's also normal and hard mode which can be changed during game play.) I liked this game although it was very short. You're a detective who has been invited by Count Daniel Redway to the island of Whitewall to investigate the disappearance of young ladies who have been kidnapped by an unknown. One of the girls escaped and you are planning to interview her. This game has it all, nice voice overs, a jump map, and a hint button that works well outside the HOS. The HOS are easy however you will have to look carefully. The puzzles are all pretty easy and there is a skip button which recharges quickly. The graphics and music are nice. I enjoyed the ease of this game. Objects are found and used quickly and I never got lost as where to go or what to do. This may not be enough of a challenge for hard-core gamers but I liked it very much. Play the demo and read some reviews to make your decision.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Charming in an Odd Way I found the claymation-type characters intriguing. They moved awkwardly and were very 3D. The game-play was fairly smooth with not too much back and forth. The map showed where active areas were and transported. When through with an active zone, it was dissolved. The HOS and puzzles were just right for me. I cannot help but wonder what happened to the little orphan boy. Otherwise, I found no problems with this game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sweet creepytown mystery A nice little game that kept me occupied for a few hours. The story was a bit predictable but managed to keep me going because i wanted to see it unfold. The good stuff: - Nice storyline - Atmospheric environment - Challenging but not too hard The drawbacks: - predictable story - the storyline could have been so much more! At the start of the game there is a small mention of a similar happening 100 years before, but sadly this is left unexplored through the rest of the game. Also, the unfolding plot makes the kidnapper a real villain while this story had the potential to be a little tragic-romantic, even - graphics are slightly outdated. No trouble for me but if you enjoy good graphic art over a story, you may want to give this a skip. Concluding: A lovely little gem of a game. The story could have used some more work, but overall it was a nice play, and i enjoyed it. Thank you!
