Dance of Death 3.5 5 53 53
REALLY FUN LITTLE GAME Really like this game. There are 2 modes of difficulty and a diary and task list. A boy has been kidnapped from a Venice, Italy, haunted orphanage and you have to find him. ENTERTAINING: Music can be suspenseful or energetic - always appropriate to the scenes and what goal you are trying to accomplish. Ghosts in various shapes appear throughout in the most unusual places and really add to the atmosphere as you explore the various environments. The artwork is very nice - not too vivid or dull. ANIMATION is really good and sometimes makes you wonder if you really saw what you thought you saw. HOS AND PUZZLES: Lots of HOS - of most every kind there is. Objects are well detailed and not difficult to find, although occasionally you really have to look. Also lots of puzzles which have varying degrees of difficulty. Some were rather new and ingenious or had twists and turns of well-known puzzles. Missing pieces of puzzles were usually not too far away, although you had to explore the entire location (ex: the house and its grounds) to find them. The ratio of HOS to puzzles seemed to be about even. REALLY LIKED THE TASK LIST: One thing I really liked was the way the task list worked. You are given a list of tasks to be performed at, say the orphanage. As you complete each one (ex: find out who took the boy and in what direction did they go), your task list reappeared with that task greyed out. New tasks appear periodically. You could not leave a place until all the tasks that were required were completed (ex: you could not leave the orphanage to go to the homestead until all orphanage tasks were done - there is limited back and forth only in each location). So the game is rather linear in that respect. Game is an amusing afternoon of entertainment. September 4, 2013
BRILLIANT GAME with Eerie Atmosphere *shiver* This exciting game is SO spooky and very well done. You play a detective out to find a boy kidnapped from an orphanage in Venice. WOW the artistry of the mysterious locations is outstanding, maybe the best I have seen in Big Fish. There are 2 modes of play with hidden object games and puzzles. The HOs have various differences to each other and some are highly original [items morph!]. The final HO has moving parts that are interactive and I was thinking, "What a clever mind to have thought this up!" Likewise the puzzles are unusual and if you're like I am, you will want to know there IS a skip button. You might wonder how I got through this ingenious game without a guide? Well, the hint button is also directional so that anytime I got stuck, I could just press it and I would be guided to the next location. Also, the game has a list of goals that appear when one is reached and then a new one is shown. The music and sound effects are good [though ominous] while a variety of ghosts appear at random and keep you on edge right through to the end. The storyline is interesting, evolves well and I would recommend this game to players of any level. I rate it: A+ and 6 stars [out of five! lol May 4, 2014
Spooky Game Find! This is a twisted little game, very original and little if anything is copied from other HO games. It is for adults as there are some pretty frightening scenes in it. If you like darker kind of games this one is a must try. September 6, 2013
"The Dance of Intrigue" A mysterious and fascinating game. From the beginning this game tweaks your interest. It joggles the mind and holds you captive. It's adventurous, hidden danger abounds, your walking on slippery ground and trembling in the balance, but you totter on. I kid you not. No dillydallying here. September 21, 2013
A another good Halloween game This was a very scary game. The graphics and sound were great. The story was very scary. The ghosts that kept coming in and out made you think that you were really in a haunted place. The HO's were kind of hard to find, but with the help of the hint button, you can find them. I would recommend this game. September 5, 2013
Creepy but fun Can't find any fault with this game. If your into creepy, this is a good one. Played best in the dark! September 15, 2013
Very Good Game to Play. Who ever that is out there Do Not Play this game if you don't like Horror. There are scenes that are in this game that might really scare you. There were a couple of scenes that I even jumped at. I really did enjoy playing this game. It was a long one to play also. You will really like this game if you love Horror Games. I wish they will make more of these types of games too. So go ahead & buy the game as I did. September 5, 2013
Superb Game Without having to be CE! This is one of those games that I actually kept the sound on for because it enhanced the story line. The voice overs were well done and the whole story made sense from beginning to end. This is a game that in very interactive from the beginning to the end. The best part of it was the art and ingenuity and the clarity of all the boards from start to finish. The games were completely different from the first to the last and a lot of fun to play. This game made you think a lot but not because the actions you needed to take did not make a lot of sense, like most of the games we play, but because there was so much interaction that you really had to pay attention. The pile of inventory was used almost immediately so you weren't wondering if and when something was going to be used or not. This game had a spooky factor with skeletons and this included the hint button. There was no jump map because you really didn't need one. Everything flowed into the next and there was not a lot of back tracking. This my friends is the way a really great game should be made and it was a joy to play. This game was about a violin maker and the death of his wife and a son that needed to be saved. I loved the music as I always love games that evolve around music and the musical score for this game was fabulous. I will consider this game to be one of my all time favorites and top picks. I purchase and play a lot of games and this one was grand enough for me to actually write a review about it. I hope others out there will try this because I know they too will have a great time playing. February 8, 2015
A hidden gem! I had saved this game for a rainy day. It's pouring outside and what an unexpected treat this was! The colors were rich and vivid. (I'm tired of all the pastels we've been treated to of late.) If you have seen the movie "The Red Violin", this has a similar theme. The music is based on Camille Saint-Saen's "Danse Macabre" which I dearly love! There were some hidden object scenes that were all morphing objects. I liked the puzzles - just challenging enough, without having to scream or hit the "SKIP" button. Smooth flow to the game using intuitive based movements. The late 1800's feel of the game was magnificent! Wish I could find another hidden gem like this one... December 3, 2014
Want more like this The art work in this game bring the Halloween spirit, but in a beautiful way. Nice variety of puzzles. Want more from this developer. One of the few games I have played twice in a row. October 4, 2014
