Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Game Throws Down the Gauntlet For the life of me, I don't understand why this game has been reviewed so poorly. The biggest complaint seems to be the constant running back and forth, but all road-clearing games seem like that to me (and I like them anyway). Superficially speaking, this game is stunning. Yeah, they needed a much better editor than they had - the typos are heinous - but I can forgive them for it. The graphics are marvelous! The items in the game are recognizable from the earlier games, but the quality of the images is vastly improved. The island lands are gorgeous. I'm not a fan of the sliding effect because I felt it was distracting. But it does increase the depth of the game, and you can turn it off in the options. While game play is similar, it is not exactly the same as its predecessors. People who love it will appreciate the fact that queuing is now part of the game. Resources come in piles, so in order to collect it all, you have to go back multiple times (if you hover over the item, it will tell you how many times). Likewise, building projects take multiple layers of work to complete. While this threw me off the first time I played the game, I actually have come to enjoy it. I find myself planning out the levels far more than in the previous games, and I'm loving the challenge of it. I will admit, though, that I miss warehouses. In this game, instead of the occasional bat, whirlwind, or storm cloud, you end up with fleets of "dragonets." You can get rid of them by clicking on them, by building a tower that destroys them, or by using the rocket power-up that will keep them at bay for a generous period of time. Unlike the previous games, the dragonets aren't just an afterthought to deal with. You can beat them by fast clicking, planning out your use of power-ups, or using valuable resources (or combinations of those!). The game gets much more difficult the further you play. I was almost able to complete Chapter 1 within the time allotted for the demo. Chapter 2 was significantly harder, and I've gotten stuck a few times in Chapter 3 (that's where I am now). I am grateful that there are no longer mini-games between chapters. Those were never my favorite... The versions of the game that involved sailing your boat or what-have-you through the dangerous waters or hammering the snakes... I was never good at those. And the one with puzzles was doable, but frustrating with a mouse. MKFTP IV definitely is more challenging for me, but that makes the victories even sweeter. I love this addition to the MKFTP library!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game The developers have definitely thought about this new release. I bought this without playing the demo and when I started level one I wondered if I'd made the right decision. I couldn't get on with the sliding screen so that got switched off - much better. Floating islands instead of being on a solid surface, no guaranteed farm, sawmill or gold mine - thankfully the resources seem to refill much quicker than previously. You're going to need them. I have found this release much more challening than the previous games. You can't always see where you can build the next bridge. When you're trying to gather enough resources AND find your route AND keep an eye on the time bar AND remember what you still have to do you definitely have to keep your wits about you. Level 6 in chapter 2 was the first level I failed to get gold straight off and when I did it was very tight on time. There's not much time to sit and think what you're next move is going to be. If you're new to this series or TM games in general then I would suggest starting with one of the other three games. You may need the experience of how the game functions before you get to this one. After my initial misgivings I love this game. It's going to be another one that I play over and over. Thank you developers for another great game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent entry in the franchise The original My Kingdom for the Princess was the first game I ever played in this genre. I think Roads of Rome was the second. Since then there have been a whole lot of clones, but none of them seem to add as much as MKFtP does with every new franchise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PRINCESS IV AWESOME! DRAGONS, YES! I do not understand why so many people do not love this game. I love it. True to form it is a great addition to the My Kingdom series. You are on floating islands. You collect items to build roads and fill in holes. Upgrade your sawmill, farm, and mines.to complete your objective. They have added dragons to defeat. There are lava monsters to destroy. I am on chapter 3 and I love it! Try it for yourself before you walk away, pleases. You might just be surprised. Swim on fishes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of fun. Thanks again Big Fish. Chapter 1 is very easy, but it gets more challenging in Chapter 2. You'll be glad it started out easy so you can get into the rhythm of the game. I enjoy the small changes in game play throughout the series. Keeps it interesting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant...no idle time I knew I would buy this game two minutes into the demo. You can now queue the tasks so no more waiting for your little men to get back to house before sending them out again. Yes, the islands do move slightly which I particularly didn't like however there is the option to switch off the 'sliding'. Keeping fingers crossed that it will soon be available for the tablet like the other three.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad they are continuing.... I really enjoy these games and this one is no exception. It's fun, although not too difficult yet. I'm not that far into it, so we'll see if the difficulty level picks up. If you enjoyed the other 3, you'll like this one, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from floating worlds ok if you don't like floating worlds which I don't just go to options and turn it off once you get into the game it really is great and the voice telling you that you don't have enough of something is in everyone of them not just this one if you liked the rest of them you will love this one too so far im on level 4 and there has on been 1 that I wasn't able to collect in time its a winner
