Queen's Quest: Tower of Darkness is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastically beautiful quest to rescue Queen's baby Wow! Wow! Wow! Loved this game, love the artwork, love everything about this game. The artwork is outstanding. It is high definition clarity, bright colors, smooth animation movie style clips. Characters are well drawn, dressed appropriate for their station in life, and for the most part, movie star-good looks. There is one bad villain, and he is dark, but not scary. The castle interiors are magnificent, but destroyed within the 1st scene. Even so, the other locales are still nice to explore. Plenty of HO scenes, Items in the junk pile are very nice to look at. There are morphing items within list of items to find-these are highlighted a different color, and when they turn white, that's a tip they are in their form to be picked. Mini puzzles are just the right amount of fun. Only one puzzle that is a pain to solve, but most are solvable. Two modes gameplay: Casual and Expert. Hint & Skip buttons available in Expert mode, just slower recharge (Yeah!) It is hard to believe this is a Standard edition, as it has all the bells and whistles associated with Collector editions. These include: - collectible items (click on crown icon at bottom right corner to see what you need to find in each scene). The APPLE items are the hardest to find in the last chapter. At the end of the game, collectible items earned gets you a palace room decorated with items earned by collectibles found. - Achievements (basically 3 stars, bronze, silver, or gold for things like playing all HO without hint, not skipping mini games, etc) - 6 replayable HO, 6 replayable puzzles - 4 downloadable wallpapers - concept art development - replayable movie clips - BONUS CHAPTER (find the potion to turn Prince Henrik back to life) This is a game aimed for female audiences who like pretty items and fairytale genre. The story is formulaic, but the quest itself is what makes this game a joy to play. The devs did an outstanding job putting everything together in a seamless, beautiful package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A secret that leads to a child's kidnapping! Completed game: The princess learns her husband's secret after he's turned to stone and her daughter is kidnapped on her 1st birthday by a soucerer called the The Witcher. So now mom is off to the rescue to rescue her daughter and defeat the Witcher. Explore beautiful breath taking scenes. Solve a variety of puzzles. And unstone the prince in the bonus chapter. I enjoyed this game. A different story worth price because you get CE for SE purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Relaxing, different, quirky in places. - GREAT GAME! What a relief to find a good game! TOP MARKS! This game is not a clone look-alike. Did the unusual quality of this game last throughout the game??? YES/NO??? A resounding YES!!! The bonus game is more of a continuation of the main game. I like the way they did it. Palace, ship, island -that’s what you’ll visit on your quest. GRAPHICS: Nicely detailed. I liked the lay-out of the scenes. On Full screen (which was widescreen), a little of the clarity was lost, and there is no aspect-ratio adjustment, but there was no uncomfortable stretch at all. SOUND: Music totally separate to everything else. Great! Nice, appropriate, good sound. You can also mute the voice over on the options window; it is in the same column as the difficulty level option. HOPS: ENJOYABLE, mostly NICE TO LOOK at, mix of ornate and non-ornate, (such as tools). Some HOPS are better to look at than others. Personally I enjoyed all the ornate ones more, and the 2 kitchen scenes the most. It’s the first time in a while I’ve loved doing HOPS! PUZZLES: Nice mix, all skippable. HINT: 30 seconds to recharge on casual DIFFICULTIES: 2 and interchangeable JOURNAL: Diary MAP: Travel with indicators INVENTORY: Lockable CHARACTERS: Realistic and not cutesy. Mix of interesting characters, occasionally wacky. Intermittent interaction only. EXTRAS IN THIS SE: A bonus game, achievement awards, collectibles, 8 replayable HOPS and 8 replayable puzzles, plus wallpapers, music and concept art.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Colors and New Tricks First of all I want to say that I have never ever seen such gorgeous graphics and vibrant colors as well as attention to minute details. If you look at the statue at the beginning of the game attentively you will see light effect and the marble seems absolutely real. I prefer playing HOS games: I love looking for items and finding them. Once I have read in one review that some HOGs imply domino effect: you are to find the object and use it so as to find another. This game has a peculiar HOS as well along with the ordinary one: I would call it streetlight effect. For instance: you are to find an apple but you can see a tomato blinking slightly. In some seconds it turns into an apple or whatever. There are lots of HOS and I played practically all of them without hints. Mini games are another story altogether: what did annoy me was the time required to load SKIP. And some of them are very hard and take too much time to solve. But in spite of it I do recommend the game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from no one will stop me from getting my baby back!!! you play as the queen who gave birth a year ago and the day of the christening an evil entity comes after the baby. the prince has made a deal with him in his younger days that he would forgo his first born if he made him a prince and he would have untold fortunes. well, the day has come. the queen, not knowing about this about the prince, is surprised and sets out to get her daughter back. the evil one needs her to continue to live. the graphics are incredible. very clear. there isn't a custom level but the hints and skips are pretty fast. there is an interactive map that helps a lot. sometimes the hints point to an area and i had to go there a few times to realize that what i needed wasn't so obvious. it is a great game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from (Almost) the perfect standard HO game! After a totally over the top and campy beginning, you are off to rescue your baby from the evil mage. This is an excellent game for beginners and intermediates, because it gives plenty of sparkle hints and the story line is straightforward. Graphics are excellent and clear, as well as artistically interesting. I'm soooo tired of gorey graphics in HO games. Having said that, I consider myself between an intermediate and expert gamer and I found it relaxing and amusing. Importantly the puzzles were not too many and do-able, an important factor when one wants a HIDDEN OBJECT game! Hint to HOG programmers:) There is a map to help you jump from place to place, although the map places are pretty straightforward. Also a journal that gives some timely hints. I can see how they could make a CE for this, as the Prince was still not accounted for at the end of the game. Actually I think he is better left off. (See campy and over the top reference above! <G>) Another thing I liked for beginners is that the morphing objects were fairly obvious, and there were morphing objects in the HOPs as well, which teaches one an important lesson about HOG's - take your time. The only thing I thought was poor was the music/sound effects, which were canned and distracting. Not to worry one can turn off the sound - I often like to listen to my own music while playing anyway. So: get this game! It is well worth the price. Did I mention they had 4 hidden object games free at the end? Cool!
