Rated 5 out of 5 by from Village Quest Another great matching game to play but I could have done without the timer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice little M3...... What a pleasant surprise to find a decent M3 game today instead of the usual HOG.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really enjoyed the game. This was a great match 3 game. The colors and graphics were nice and the music was enjoyable. The game was not too difficult and you can complete the game easily. My only issue was; there didn't seem to be an ending. I achieved all the levels and the game just kept on going. Maybe not an issue for most people.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the best/not the worst I like Match 3 games. This does offer a challenge on each level and the timer is generous. The beginning storyline was very poor in all aspects...:( Some of the items needed to buy a building were not included in some levels..designer needs to go back to the drawing board on that one. But I did purchase this game only for the level challenges.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No option to play relaxed I enjoyed the demo and got the game (fortunately with a coupon) and then later discovered it was timed and there was no option to play relaxed - I probably would not have purchased it if I had realized the time only mode.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun Game A Little Short As far as match 3 goes I liked the concept and building aspect of this game. After finishing the trial I purchased it. It was decent if you like match 3s, but I completed the game very quickly and it was quite short.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Similar To Cradle Of Rome, But No Wow Factor My absolute favorite Match 3 games are the Cradle of Rome Series hands down. This game has almost identical features as the original COR game but the graphics aren't very good, the levels don't progress fast enough and there just isn't much difference from level to level and the game becomes monotonous. The goal is to collect resources in each level to be able to build your city. You need to make matches on the yellow cells to turn all cells black, some tiles are covered in chains, or double chains, some are blocked etc. and you will need to make matches until the cells are unlocked. There are cyan crystals on some of the cells that must be matched with cyan cells first before making the final match of a resource. Once you have enough resources to purchase the blueprints for a building, you will have to solve a very basic puzzle such as swapping puzzle tiles or matching identical pictures, then you can build that building which will give you another type of resource to match. This isn't a bad M3 game, it's just not epic, enjoy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Village Quest...ionable I liked the actual little mini games between the M3 boards, and the M3 boards weren't bad but there was a lot wrong. Having sampled and purchased some of the M3, the characters were too cartoonish, there was no actual talking (which might have been a good thing), the storyline has been done in other M3, there was not option to play untimed, and the music/sounds were like nails on a chalkboard to me. Not one I want in my collection.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Glimpse of Games Gone By Having played many, many match 3 games and always looking for more, I dove into this one with high hopes as the building aspect usually adds to the m3 fun. From the opening, though, I knew something was amiss. The cartoonish characters and silly dialogue didn't overly bother me as the core of the game could be a good (great?) match 3. But the play, power-ups, non-removable timer and no choices building side all seem to have come thru a "time warp" from long ago. Earlier m3's were very much like this-endless matching, ordinary power-ups, no untimed option, little to no animation or "special effects" in the building portion and super easy and sometimes repeating puzzles to get "blueprints" for buildings. If you're new to m3's and/or building component m3's then this may be a good intro to the genre. But if more modern "bells and whistles" are what you expect, look elsewhere. It's a no buy for me, but if you're a newbie to this type of game, you may want to start here.
