No dinosaurs yet, but a fun and relaxing game I have played this game for nearly the full demo hour, and I'm enjoying it. I haven't seen any dinosaurs except those in the title screen, but the shapes made by the tiles are generic prehistoric themed shapes like a caveman or a big cat. Perhaps 'Prehistoric Mahjong' would have been a better title? The boards aren't hard to solve, but getting all three stars for each achievement is surprisingly tricky. I keep missing the target for the number of moves by a couple! The graphics are good and the music is nice (even reminiscent of the Jurassic Park theme in places) but there are only a few tracks which is a shame. As I said the boards aren't very hard but it seems that the aim of this game is more to take your time and consider each move more carefully than with other mahjong titles where speed is more important. This game is perhaps not for a hard-core mahjong player, but for someone who wants a more relaxed and slow paced game it would be great. I haven't decided if I'll buy it yet, but it's a definite possibility. August 27, 2014
Where have all the dinosaurs gone? This being called "Jurassic Mahjong" I expected some prehistoric something or other, at least a dinosaur or two. There are 6 levels, each with 20 sub-levels. There is no difficulty mode. No story line, just a few cut scenes wherein we're supposed to guess what's going on. The only thing Jurassic I saw was the background and you could change your tiles to include a dinosaur. Yay. It's a typical Mahjong game with everything I dislike about this type. There are 3 stars you can achieve during each sub-level. Finish in "x" amount of time. Get "x" number of special (gold) tiles and earn "x" number of points. Very disappointing and definitely not a purchase for me. Only recommending so you can give it a try before you buy. Happy Gaming! August 26, 2014
Just Another 'Ok' Game From 8 Floor This is another in the seemingly endless stream of mahjong games from this developer. Again it misses the mark in most respects except for level of challenge. There are 6 'themed' areas, each having 20 boards, and you progress in 'rank' as you level up. Each board has a set of 3 individual goals, and you receive a star for each if you reach those goals...not an easy task. There is a choice of 3 tile categories, one of which is Jurassic Park-themed with various creatures etc. However, I thought the tile colours were rather drab and lifeless, and the designs uninspiring. Add to this the fact that the graphics were a bit fuzzy, and you will be hard-pressed to become enthusiastic about this game. There are options for adjusting sound effects and music volume, both of which were so-so and uninspiring. Options also for full screen, custom cursor, and highlighted tiles in play. If this developer continues to put out more in this series, they need to ramp up their production if they are to impress players. Not a buy for me. August 26, 2014
Nothing Special This is just another mahjong game with a Jurassic theme, but there's nothing special about it. You will explore locations such as Wild Prairie, The Traveler, the Pathfinder, the Observer, the Explorer and the Scientist and each of these locations have about 20 levels within them. Each level has specific tasks that need to be in order to earn all 3 gold stars such as removing all special gold tiles, completing the level within a specific amount of moves and earning a specific amount of points. There is an explorer icon that will highlight all available tiles and there is a shuffle button that can be replaced by matching silver tiles within each game. You can choose classic, numbered and jurassic themed mahjong tiles, enjoy! September 23, 2014
