Rated 5 out of 5 by from Melissa K. and the Heart of Gold It makes a change to play a hidden object game based on the Orient

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not the same old thing One of the most enjoyable I've played in a while. The story was unique, the graphics not of the usual lushly rendered but absolutely static background sort, and the main characters were all adults. The games were fun, especially the ones that required moving 3-D objects round in space. The silly monk really grew on me, sneak attack zen. This deserved a better rating than it got on average!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MELISSA K IS PURE GOLD! TEN STARS! BRAVO! Ah! A superbly written plot with creative puzzles, hidden objects, and yes, you have to work this game as answers aren't going to fall into gamers' laps with a glance at a Study Guide or Walkthrough. Work that brain, fellow gamer! Scrub the scenes using your tools and pay attention to detail. Everything you need to know is right there in the game. Totally satisfying gameplay--the same difference between a frozen dinner and a gourmet meal. Fascinated with my journey to mysterious Thailand. BRAVO! Thank you Developers. I especially loved being able to go back and re-play the puzzles and hidden objects to beat the best time, achieve 100% accuracy and collect all the reclining Buddha statues. Amazingly clever with painstaking artistic details, music, drama, humor and more all rolled into a Standard Edition game. I've paid a fortune for Collectors Editions with far less quality. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This game was GREAT! I just loved this game. The graphics were great, although funky, in places, and it kept my interest throughout. Some objects you had to find and pick up were tiny, and I have to say that the wonderful hint button was my constant companion, but it worked great so I was never frustrated. The story was good, the scenes were interesting, the game was long but never tedious, and and it had a solid ending. The music was terrific and not aggravating at all, The map lets one jump, there were no HOS, as such, and some very fun puzzles that one could skip if too hard. I found this game to be a lot like a movie and full of solid entertainment, It is NOT like a HOG much at all and is more like an adventure. Really, tons of fun if you like this sort of thing, and I sure DID!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing 3D object puzzles, old monk is LOL I just finished this Game It is best in series.. I love all the voices especially the humor of old monk who had me laughing aloud. I had fun solving the ghosts quests. There are some objects you turn that are 3 D puzzles on how to open them that are beautiful, unique. I hope their is a sequel and the old monk is back again or used in another game. I almost lost this gem because not enough rating game. Please at least try it and I hope you will agree it is one of a kind. The main eye candy is the 3D objects. It has a great Journal that even contains videos. The hint system shows you what to do if stuck. The map is interactive click and go. If you like adventure Games with unique 3D puzzle objects with many other various puzzles, a game that has a sense of humor, great voice overs, fast skip, fun achievements, please don't miss trying this diamond of a game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Something New! Amazing Game This game has it all - beautiful art, interesting story, and challenging puzzles. If you are looking for the same old HO Adventure this is not it, this is fresh and it is played differently. (i.e. you are not looking for a hundred keys to a hundred locks) You have to think and you have to look. Everything was so well done, the 3D puzzles that you play from all sides, the music, the actors, even the flashlight was realistic (I kept playing with it). The setting of Thailand was lovely and spooky, fantastic job. There is a map, a hint button and you can skip puzzles, but I didn't need to and I'm not an expert. If you want to try something new give this a chance. It's not a game you rush through, it's a game you enjoy and think through. I just wish it was a CE so that I had more play time and a wallpaper. Please start working on another!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from loved it! I have to tip my hat to these developers....I can see that a lot of love and hard work went into this game, and it shows... The only issue I had was with the bell puzzle, towards the end, by the temple....there was no skip and as no one has written a walk through, I was stymied for a bit. I know a bit about musical notation which helped me in the end but I can imagine that it would be totally frustrating for most... I hope that more games will be forthcoming !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adventurer's Delight This is an SE game doing a credible imitation of a CE with collectibles, achievements, and (IMHO accurately termed) cinematic replays. What sets it apart from other CEs (which it is not) is that it offers a unique HO scene and puzzle replay option. Although the game is not timed, it times and computes accuracy for HO and puzzles in the background. Thus, at some other time without interrupting their progress in the game, the player can elect to replay them to increase their accuracy or time by selecting them from the extras box. Visually, I found the game impressive. It looks good in wide-screen and is what I would call minimalist in presentation. Scenes are uncluttered, clear, and the components well drawn. The Eastern setting enhances the game through contrast. Whereas, structures within scenes present clean lines of enormous proportions, clothing and other items are intricately detailed using bright colors. The game also uses panning to increase scope of the set thereby immersing me more fully into the scene – that is, once I became accustomed to using it and it does take some getting used to. Speaking of setting, the action, as far as I've gotten in the game, is at night. Usually that means the lighting is dim and objects are vague, an effect caused by using a palette of muddying shades of grays and browns. In this game, scenes are brightly illuminated with torchlight sharply contrasting the deep blackness of a moon and star-speckled sky undiminished by artificial lighting from the Earth below. The 3D rendering is done well enough to create smooth life-like movement. You'll not likely to mistake it for real. Yet, for me, it very soon became a non-issue. The ambient sounds and music in the game are unobtrusive, varied, and appropriately dramatic. If lip synch is important to you though, get ready to be annoyed. In its defense, this game offers a subtitle option which might be the justification for the out-of-synch lip synching. Bottom line: For all those who complain about “hand holding” or who, like me, have become a little ho-hum about the whole “need this, find that, use that somewhere-or-when” pattern of HOPAs, this is a refreshing change! It is intriguing not only challenging your gaming skills, but also, assumptions on mastering HOPAs. In many significant ways this game is very different from most HOPAs. I advise trying it to see if it suits you and/or your purposes for gaming before buying it.
