Love Story: The Way Home is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 79.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This game gave me vintage 1940's goosebumps all over! Classic 1941 story of a young 17 year old orphan named Kathrine who is on the verge of turning 18. She is living at an orphanage that overlooks Pearl Harbor while, at the same time, the U.S. & the boy she falls in love with, are on the verge of war. This story has it all... mystery, loneliness, jealousy, conflict, love, fear, war, heartache, & hope. It's told by Katherine as an old woman who honestly reminded me of my Grandma Annie. In fact, she could've probably been compared to many other 30-something year old's Grandmothers whose husbands fought in WWII. They were the sons & daughters of immigrants who withstood the great depression & lived the best years of their lives at the height of the Golden Age. I love when a story can capture the look & feel of that generation in such a stellar way. The graphics are not insanely awesome, the puzzles are not intricate or complex, & the sound quality doesn't blow your mind but it does not matter. This game is all about experiencing the story. It is presented to the player in a way that captures so many idealized & iconic features of 1941 that it gave what I cal "vintage goosebumps". The clothing, hair-styles, shoes, cut scenes, & interior design of the orphanage had me mesmerized & loving just looking at each new frame. This game truly had great art & design direction in my opinion. The way they captured a time in US history in which falling in love was an innocent, honest, & heartfelt endeavor to spend the rest of your life with someone for the sole purpose of loving one another & to share family, home, & future together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Love Story! I loved it!! Easy, simple love story. I was happy to play a different game, without all the gory, violent stuff in it!! Sometimes, we need a break from that. Was a little apprehensive at the end, though!! More of these, to give my brain a rest!!! THANKS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Story: The Way Home ~ Will Katherine Find Her a Forever Home? Based on completed game. What a lovely game! No evil, no darkness, a really pleasant change of pace. Simple HOG scenes, clear and bright. Puzzles vary from easy to hard. Some are a challenge, but fun to figure out. Nice story about love. It took more than 4 hours to complete. If you are unsure about buying this game buy it on a sale price or one of your free game choices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made me cry I really cared about the characters. I rooted for them, and when the ending came, I cried. The challenge is not that great, which mkes it a smooth narrative. It is entertaining, without being frustrating. The visuals are nice enough. A wonderful story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good for the 2nd in the series hint/skip charge in about 45 seconds or so. i played casual very low sound. really good graphics.....items easily seen. it is the story of a couple in pearl harbor in 1941 and what happened. she is an orphan at an orphange and he is the grounds keeper. i did like the story.there is a diary, no map, and the hints tell you where you need to go but not necessarily what to do when you get there. it isn't hard to figure out.
