Space Legends: At the Edge of the Universe is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Out of this World! Different and Refreshing! Need more of this theme! Though I have only played the game for about 30 minutes, I have to comment on it. I can say I was blown away from the start. I was looking for something that wasn't dreary, creepy or dark. Well, I found bright, engaging, and a story that was different than anything that BF has put out lately. I give 5 stars to the developers of this game. The setting is outer space, the story is enthralling, the graphics beautiful and the music perfect. I was glad for just having to read the parts with not voice acting, which was not overly done. The puzzles on casual mode are not easy and made me have to work a bit to figure them out. I liked that I had to look around to find items to complete objectives. There is a map but it doesn't give all the details as to the next objective, which I liked. I liked not having all the bells and whistles. I can say this one is a keeper and it will go onto replay list. I highly recommend this game if you are looking for something different. And I do recommend to play the demo before you purchase any game because no every game is for every one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from three measly stars? well all of you added together gave this only an average rating. I expected to be bored. Hey for a SE game this had real challenges in the puzzles. The HO scenes were ok, but one reviewer promised that they get real interesting later, so this looks to be a very good game for an SE. Now I have to think if I want to use a free game or buy it on the sale. The operating endgame is that I will own it and think others would like it also for a change of pace...I like fantasy but this is nuts and bolts with some real challenges. I liked the puzzle where i had to move colored bubbles into the proper place. It took a lot of thought to get them adjusted to the correct positions. I liked that I did not have to open the guide to drag out the code...I had it in my head and inputting it was accepted instead of insisting that I pull out the paper and show I had found the code. The code was there if you needed it, but this is the first game I have ever seen that allowed us to have it in our memory. I play these games for fun mental exercise. In real life, I do not like to do these tasks, like fixing a broken engine, but finding the pieces and putting it all together here is fun. The game is a bit dark, but not enough to make seeing difficult . The puzzle of putting the wires according to the correct number was not new, but it was challenging. If this had been a CE, I would have rated it down to a four stars, but as a SE it is rather a breath of alien air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoyed this game! There are so few sci-fi HO games here, I really enjoyed this game. Good fun, level of challenge, storyline and excellent visuals and sounds. The only complaint I have is the language/translation could be better. No witches, ghosts or little helpers here, just a good sic-fi adventure HOP game. VISUAL & SOUND QUALITY The visuals, graphics and opening scenes are very unique looking and impressive. I actually like that there are no voiceovers, but that means a fair amount of reading. I believe the ambient sounds are amazing enough to make up for that if you don't like a lot of reading. In particular when you are out in the storm trying to fix the spaceship, these sounds really provide an atmosphere. LEVEL OF CHALLENGE This is an adventure HOP game with some easy and very challenging puzzles. The beginning of the game is really about finding everything you need to get Steve to the ship and fixing it to get back to earth. Some puzzles are easy and some very hard, I did find myself skipping a few of them. As other reviewers have said the hints and journal are helpful and provide the information you need. STORYLINE The story is engaging. Trapped on a faraway planet where the future, past and present all intertwine, Elizabeth and Steve are in serious danger! The planet you are stationed on is having severe weather and Steve who barely makes it back to base alive, needs your help to repair the ship and escape. Once you fix the ship and leave the planet, there is plenty more adventure to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! I wasn't sure when I started this game but the more I got into it the more intrigued I became.Graphics are super clear, mini games not too difficult but stress free making them fun. I love the story line, it's fresh and differs from others. When you land on another planet you realize the point of "the future, past and present all interwine". There is absolutely nothing i dislike about this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beam Me Up, Scotty! You Have Just Entered Space Legends! Dazed and confused, I was looking in every BFG crack and crevice for a GOOD, CHALLENGING, CREATIVE, DIFFERENT, UNIQUE GAME! Thanks to Reviewer, FORTUNATUS, I found this interesting little beauty as one of his/her Current Favorites. Thank you! Current Favorites are always helpful in finding other BFG games! Yay! Is it possible to over-review a game? Indeed. Let's keep it simple. There are some language errors, but give it a break! I've seen lots of errors from the big-name developers and there should be ZERO! Finally! Interesting and unique!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best of all worlds.... Yay! No ghosts, no skeletons [perhaps a bone here or there appropriately placed], no witches or black fog... no creepy music, no hand holding, and no gaggy cute green helpers. : } It's unfortunate some reviews give such low stars based on the Demo and/or there personal limitations [hmmm, get glasses]. This is an adventure-heavy H0P... yes, there are translation faux pas here and there [I thought they were a bit charming and certainly not as 'off' as some other games!] and yes, the initial space camp scene is a bit tedious [especially so if one is not familiar with adventure], and yes, there are 'bars' on the side [just use hints and change your resolution!]: YET.... HOLD ONTO YOUR SPACE SEAT!..... : } ....once you land on the next planet, the story really takes off and I do believe the next setting will be very appealing to many more gamers here at BFG then based on demo alone! SO, here are some of the most positive details for those on the proverbial fence: The background music is very appropriate to the game and appealing to the ear: it's rather soothing and nice; environmental sounds are good and appropriate to the settings you are in as well Thus far, the story is a combination of fantasy, sci-fi, romance, hi-tech, middle ages. As for the graphics? They are some of THE BEST I've seen here. The cut scenes are phenomenal and as the game progresses, [w/o giving too much away], there are touching and realistic little details here and there which really pull one into the game. [as an example.. look in front of the inn when you first go into town... a momma kitten is nursing her kittens... very subtle and just 'there' in the background which makes it charming and NOT CUTESY, lol.. I do not like cutesy in my gaming ~gag]. At the same time, there is contrast of the drama setting of needing to overcome [via puzzles and HOP] obstacles in order to accomplish tasks to resolve your dire situation. The puzzles are unique requiring you to utilize your inventory bar along with the usual 'items find' bar. So, all in all, this is truly an EXCELLENT game and I urge you to strap in your patience seatbelt and take off on a really great adventure.... one that is very different and new and, therefore, exciting and fun to venture through. Thank you developers and BFG for an exceptionally good gaming experience!! ; )

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Now Appreciate This Game. I chose to play this game as it was a sci-fi game which there are very few of, and after 30 minutes of the demo I was still undecided on buying it. However as I had several free game credits in my inbox that were about to expire I decided to give it a try, and I am so glad I did. I did struggle through the free hour of game play most espcially the language barrier, but when I read "Steve gets diffused" as opposed to what I think it should be "Steve gets confused", I laughed and carried on.. The first HO scene after you have left the planet you were on is, to use my daughter's words is AWESOME. It starts off as a usual HO but after that you can't find the next object until you have made a series of moves in order to get the next item, and they are not obvious moves. It took me over an hour and I was definitely challenged which my daughter found hilarious as she cracked it straight away.. I don't recall seeing this developer before, but if they brush up on their English and continue in this style of game play, I think they are going to be AWESOME. Definitely a 5 star rated game from me because once you get into it you don't want to stop.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some very hard puzzles! I'm an old adventure gamer, so I certainly appreciate this kind of game. The translation errors were not too much of a problem--I can live with that. The problem I encountered, and what kept me from giving this game 5 stars, is that some of the puzzles are insanely hard (I played on the more difficult of the two settings). I'm not sure if one of them can be finished at all (maybe a game error?). I HATE having to skip puzzles and I had no choice on two or three in this game. There is no walkthrough except a youtube series in which the player skips every hard puzzle, so no help there. The instructions are a bit ambiguous. I wish we could still interact with each other in the forum as fellow players can often shed just enough light on what you need to do to make solving the puzzles possible. Very frustrating. I like challenging puzzles, but after twenty minutes or more on one, even I run out of patience. I agree that I'd like to see more games from this developer, and also that they need better translation to make their games more polished. I would like to either be able to get a tiny hint within a puzzle, or have a walkthrough published for future games. I wish someone would do one for this game!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A GAME OF 2 HALVES First review: March 2014. (I thought it was a much older game!) 1ST HALF=5.0* 2ND HALF=3.5* A CHALLENGING GAME. PART 1: I loved every second spent in space. A constant storm outside the space station sets the ambience. As a result of LARGE windows everywhere and good use of perspectives, shading and color, I didn’t feel cramped, even in the corridors. The colors were spot-on and subtle: blues, oranges, purples, with stars /suns/moon, that you could see through the windows. There is an urgency to leave this planet before the storm fully hits you. You must take your space pal with you. PART 2: A different tempo from the first half. You land on a planet. The graphics aren’t quite as sharp or as nice in the second part. You get a jaunt into the country-side of a different planet that looks just like …Earth, like medieval Europe but with some advanced technology thrown in: a beer-serving robot and laser machine. The story loses itself a bit and there’s a bit of a lull. However I did like the blacksmith’s, the kitchen and the castle gardens. Then it swings back to exciting when you head to the underground caves, which lead to the Forgotten City and more impending doom is forecast as a catastrophic meteor heads your way! ***Sound and Music settings only. Luckily there’s a good balance in the “Sound” which does the ambient and the mouse-click effects. ……*Space related music: 80’s synthesizer, rumbling and different synth sounds. ……*Castle related music: medieval guitar, flutes etc. ***MAP tells you where new jobs are to be done. ***HINT doesn’t give you everything and takes about 20 seconds to recharge. ***HOPS: Plenty of them. However, the words are not always highlighted differently to indicate that interactive work is required. HOPS in the first half are pleasant to look at. HOPS in the second half are a bit rough looking by comparison. ***I didn’t hear any voices in the second half, but I had the music off every time there was speech, so I don't know if those two were linked. I just read the conversation. ***A handful of translational mistakes e.g. Lamp for lightbulb. ***PUZZLES: Some of the puzzles were THE TOP END OF CHALLENGING. ***Inventory is lockable ***Doesn’t fill whole screen Daily deal for me! Nice!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun theme and plenty of good puzzles Very enjoyable/fun science fiction theme and story. Good graphics. Plenty of puzzles, and of better quality than average for BF adventure games. (I personally like puzzles, and get tired of HOSs.) Average help. The game had a few awkward glitches/interfaces/etc., but no big deal (however, without this issue, I would have given a rating of 5).
