Mystery Expedition: Prisoners of Ice is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it ! Great storyline and graphics. Tons of hidden objects and few mini games. Good length for a SE game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Outstanding!!! This review is a little late as initially couldn't get into the game. Tired of the same old gaming style of glitter and glitz with zero mystique? Mystery Expedition has it all really! You are travelling a dangerous mission to the North Pole where your grandfather had gone, returned and then left again never to return. Game starts out a bit slow but hang in there because adventure awaits! Played Expert Level: Beyond Objects - got 16 of the 18 Coins to purchase items for your Penguin's Igloo Relics - got 7 of 10 Hidden objects are large and puzzles are do-able. I skipped one with the wagon wheel. Ugh! There is a walkthrough separately just do a search as it's not on BFG. Cut-scenes are awesome with live actors. Interactive map is simplistic and very helpful. Most importantly, trust no one as gold fever is real. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Based on Completing Game - Excellent Refreshing Polar Adventure Having just completed this game, I wanted to add my positive review. The polar atmosphere was very refreshing (even though there are no penguins in the Arctic, the rock-hopper in this game was so cute I am going to give him a pass) and the graphics and sound effects suited the game perfectly. The story was supernatural, as seems always to be the case these days, but most of the puzzles were tool-based and logical. (As an aside, the game I played before this one was basically nothing except collect crystals and magical talismans and it got so tiresome that this game was a really excellent change of pace.) OK, back to the review - the music was good, much better than average. I liked the real actors and disagree with some others about the acting quality - I thought it was MUCH better than average. I also disagree about the length of the game. I found it about average, especially if you did all the puzzles and didn't use the hint very much. The puzzles were mostly fairly easy and it was easy to figure out what you were supposed to do. There were a few negatives. THE HOS were not very fun - major junk-pile and not interactive after the first few. At the beginning you could substitute a jigsaw puzzle game but toward the end this was no longer an option. I had two access violations but just re-started and proceeded where I left off so not that big of an issue. The last negative was that there were morphing objects to find, which I only discovered at the very end so I missed most of them. I also missed five of the coins so I couldn't buy my penguin a swimming pool, a major downer!! I think they should have told you about the beyond objects at the start so you could be on the lookout for them and also not let you proceed to the next level without finding all the coins, but these are minor quibbles. I thought this game was super-fun and I really looked forward to coming back to play it over the past couple of days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 Stars for Real Actors! I love the arctic and snow, so this was right up my ally. The number one thing though that made me buy it immediately was when I saw the use of real actors. I love when they are incorporated into a game. I totally just can not express how much I love that. Since Myst back in the day, it is hard to find real actors in games. I had been disappointed, but this made me so happy. I loved also that the game had hidden money to collect, so that you could buy a few things for your little penguin. Also you could look for hidden relics and morphing objects. In a standard edition game that is hard to find. I was happy about that. You could also get a few achievements as well. I totally loved the story line, the music, the ship in the beginning, gosh there is so much I appreciated in this game. I can only hope now that I completed this game minus 2 morphing objects I just could not find, that more game developers will include these real actors. It is a treat for me and an instant buy. I loved this game guys. It has re-playability too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JUST SHORT OF A CE This is a SE with 18 morphing objects, 10 relics to collect, and coins for the bank to buy igloo items at the store. Fun to play and the graphics and artwork are very good. Voice overs are nice, but then they disappear becoming written, only to reappear later. Assuming it's not my computer misbehaving, I don't get why they delineated the game that way. Somewhat linear but straightforward, but you do have a choice of which directions to take. Hint system is very helpful. Nice proportion of puzzles and HOS. Puzzles are easy to do and the HOS are list-based, very crowded and colorful. A nice afternoon of play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good choice The best thing is that they are realistic animations. Otherwise, image, music, challenge, story and objectives are ok :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVED IT - AND I KNOW YOU WILL TOO This is another gem and you get all the bells and whistles of a Collectors Edition and only pay for a Single Edition. I have also played 'Questerium - Sinister Trinity' by the same makers and recognised a couple of actors in this game. I wonder if this is their full time job and how can I apply? What a job aye - would love it. You have: * Live actors; * Voiceovers; * Casual, Expert and Adventure modes of play; * Diary with interactive map; * Achievements board in the igloo. You also have to: ~ Find 18 morphing objects; ~ Find 10 relics; ~ Collect coins to buy toys for the penguin in the igloo. I really enjoyed playing this game. The graphics are superb and easy to see everything. The music is like an adventure movie - loud is some places and quiet in others. The HOS are easy to medium to find, but if you don't fancy HOS then you can play puzzles instead. I played half and half. There are plenty of mini-games to play - some are easy and some will make you think and take a while. I played them all without hints or skipping - so they can't be too hard or frustrating. The game is quite long - about 5 hours I think. I'm not a fast player and like to explore everywhere in case I miss something. I managed to find all the relics and morphing objects - but keep an eye out because a few were well hidden. CHECK EVERYWHERE. So, definitely recommended. Its a fun game and well worth putting in your collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best This is the first time I've felt moved to write a review. I'm not going into detail but as I soon as I finished the game I started over again and am just on my third go. I was beginning to feel as though I would never feel that wow factor again but with this one I did. Loved the story line, loved the penguin just so sorry that I haven't been able to get all the things for it to play with just two out of three. The visuals were great and it surprised me several times. Thank you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent HO! As already said, why this great game is not CE? Gorgeos art, beautiful locations, smart story, great live-action scenes. I like this game and totally recommend it to every fan of this genre. Kudos to devs for great work!
