Insane Cold: Back to the Ice Age is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Very Cool (pun intended) Game! I thought for sure this game would get a higher rating, the only criticism I could make is that the words on the HO scenes were too small. That being said, I loved this game! It had beautiful graphics and music, and a lot of originality (I've yet to see another game with Froids). Collecting the souls was fun (I liked to read the stories about each good soul), and it had a happy ending. Plus, I thought the cut-scenes were interesting. Try it, you'll like it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insanely great! Love melts any ice storm! Highly recommend! 5 stars all the way across. I couldn't quit playing this game until ended. I was deeply touched by the story because it shows how true love can move a human to do what needs to be done in dire circumstances. The puzzles were not easy on Casual mode, which was a plus. I didn't mind not having a map because it made me have to take the time and look around. When I found myself having to give in and use the hint, I found it recharged in a fair amount of time. And the ending blew me away. I can say this game is rare gem lost in the treasure chest of BF games I've had to dig through to find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good puzzle game If you like some hidden objects, some, go find this, and bring it back to this location, then have to look at this location and see what you need to get past it, then this is a good game for you. I even got stumped a few times, but that might have been game lay out over me not getting it, but all in all my daughter and I had fun playing it together! I definitely got my moneys worth on this one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an intriguing HOPA I just couldn't stop playing!!! Play the role of Jacob and save your wife Helen from the evil villain Froid, in the Insane Cold. This STANDARD EDITION deserves more than three stars. The graphics are similar to, if not better than some CE's I have played. The adventure is lengthy, I think I finished in about 7 hours. There are no vo's but that's okay the story doesn't need them; the written dialogue is sufficient. The objective is to locate Helen who has been kidnapped and save her from Froid, who is bent on returning Earth to the ice age period and ruling the world. You will need to save 17 frozen souls along your journey in order to activate the amulet you found in said antique shop before you can rescue Helen. This point-and-click adventure promises to deliver lots of ho's and brain bending puzzles. I really would love to see more from this developer. Casual gamer's should really enjoy this one...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Soft Release We get so few of these bare-bones soft releases, and they are my favorite type of HO games. This one has a good story, good puzzles, and fairy decent HOS. It has the creep factor that I love in games. Graphics were good. No VO's but that was OK. This was a great playing, long game. No glitches or bugs. I would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't miss this one! What a neat game. You have to save your wife who's been frozen and kidnapped by a really big, really mean ice-man. You have to keep on his trail, sorting out crises as you try to save your wife. Great game, will keep you coming back for more. It's definitely worthy of at least a coupon code.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from INSANELY GOOD! I have played a ton of games and the first thing I noticed in this game was insanely awesome graphics, not necessarily with the scenery, but the characters themselves. It's almost like a video game, I haven't seen such fluid movements in a PC game ever. Think about it, whenever a character walks, it is jerky and stiff with no joint movements, and don't get me started on animals, a recent game I played had a small dog that glided sideways and his legs didn't even move! Pay attention during the cut scenes and you'll see what I'm so impressed by. Jacob purchased an ancient medallion from the local antique shop to give to his wife Helen for their anniversary. Jacob was watching Helen from the window of the cafe they were to meet at when a 7 foot giant appeared just behind Helen. Before Jacob could get out of the booth, the stranger blasted Helen with his icy blue eyes and froze her in her tracks, threw her into a black coffin and dragged her into the darkness! Jacob returns to the antique shop to confront Mr. Hope who fesses up that he inherited both the shop and the medallion from his great grandfather who told him of a legend about 7 foot ice giants that need human souls to survive. The only way to stop the giants is with the medallion that needs the souls of 17 people to activate. Jacob sets out on a quest to collect 17 souls one at a time from the innocent bystanders now frozen because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Can Jacob destroy the ice giants in time to save Helen? The Hidden Object Scenes are slightly interactive list finds with at least one zoom in area that contain items listed in red. Some of the scenes are repeated which disappoints me, I hate repeated scenes because it's boring and you know where everything is a second time around. There are only a handful of mini games but there are plenty of inventory items to pick up and use as well as tasks to accomplish. This game surprised me, I wasn't expecting much from a stand alone edition but I really did enjoy playing this game, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great game I must say this is one of the games I have enjoyed most, getting a little tired of being a detective! The scenes are crisp and clear and cut scenes quite unusual and used to great effect. Quite a long game with very interesting storyline. Well done to the developers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderfully Different!! I very rarely give 5 stars for anything, but this game, well, I just so thoroughly enjoyed it. It was different from the norm, fun, not too many HOS....and well, overall just an enjoyable game. I can always tell when a game is a great one to me; I hate it to finish, but when it does I sit back with a sigh and think "Now that....I really enjoyed". Hope the devs put out another one like this!! Didja hear that devs....hint, hint. I highly recommend this game.
