Echoes of the Past: Wolf Healer 3.9 5 11 11
Really pretty very visually compelling If you like the challenge of recalling where things are, this one is a bit easier than some because the visuals are so clear and the things that fulfill the puzzles that keep one going are not so far away in the story line. I personally like that a lot, but I said level of challenge was good rather than excellent because it was easier than some where you have to run around and recall all kinds of places where things had to be returned. On the other hand, the puzzles were very well thought out and gave an excellent challenge. Ah now the Hidden Object part of the equation had all different kinds of scenarios from find the thing that looks like a picture, to little play scenes in which we had to place the missing object, to finding things in the scene that complete a figure like a hat or a needle to sew up a heart. So this part of the game is varied and I find that enjoyable too. Now if you are really ridiculously squeamish, there is a snake one has to lure for its venom and there are spiders that run along the wall, but isn't it time you recognized that these are just pictures and help yourself to get over these phobias? Yes Hidden Object games can be health and sanity restoring! I hate ugly scenes and this game gives mostly lovely but not too ornate images in the scenes. Some games gild the lily with all kinds of Rococo intricate objects, in this game there are elaborate places, but a barn is not glorified beyond being a barn. Shape shifting between being a wolf and a person is fun and there are crystal balls to be found in the CE. The story is the usual quest...I do not know why some people complain about plots not being new and different. There are only a given number of plots as proposed by literary critics: The seven basic plots are: overcoming the monster; rags to riches; the quest; voyage and return; comedy; tragedy; rebirth...so there you have it. Now as far as making the characters memorable, this game is not high on that score. I mostly play these games for the fun of figuring out puzzles and remembering where things are. My favorite puzzles are mazes, word games, rebus games. There were none of those in the intro that I played, but the games required some figuring...like the tiles that had a number of possible pictures but only one was the correct one, and the clocks that all had to be synchronized to get to the green zone at the same time. There was a phases of the moon to be put in order game that one had to work things in an order so as to get them passed a blockage point and then into place. There was a concentration game of matching mice and another where the goal was to find the bags with herbs and forget matching those that were not the goal object. There was a puzzle to open a door that required moving all the gold coins to the top and all the silver to the bottom and they were on wheels so they turned. I liked the one that had three cups and a mouse moves them around and you have to discover which cup has the ball after you are shown before the sleight of hand takes place. There was a constellation to complete on a grid. I will be buying this in the CE and I hope the extra story is worth it. Anyone have anything to say about that? November 29, 2015
LOVE LOVE LOVE GREAT STORY, GRAPHICS AND CHARACTER INTERACTIONS! November 16, 2014
The Good Werewolves Since ancient times, warriors upon giant eagles have attacked the land of the Healers. The Healers were the only force that could withstand these attacks, led by their powerful Elders, Sirius and Auriga. Today Mira, the daughter of Sirius and Auriga was to become a Healer and a member of the clan...that is until the ceremony was viciously attacked by the warriors. The Elders had been suspicious about the recent attacks after consulting the stars, there is a traitor amongst the Healers! This clan is no ordinary group, whenever they don their bracelets they will transform from human to wolf, no worries, these werewolves have dedicated their lives to helping people not harming them. Some actions within the game require you to be in either human form or wolf form by using the bracelet located on the bottom left of your screen. The inventory list is actually located on the top of the screen which is less intrusive in my opinion. There is also an available journal to keep up with the story or recheck your goals. The Hidden Object scenes are a little different, but some are repeated such as placing objects found on shelves, into a book one page at a time. There are interactive silhouetted shape finds and the one I liked was placing parts correctly onto astrological symbols. This game has done an awesome job with the mini games and the one I thought was interesting but not really new, was starting several clocks that moved at different speeds so that they would all reach the green zone at the same time. The Collectors Edition has 32 Collectible Orbs, Achievements, Concept Art, replayable mini games, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy! November 18, 2014
Good game, but not "Echoes of the Past" I generally liked this game, but I have a few reservations(see below). The story was good, and it was interesting playing a character that was a shape-changer. Mira seemed like a child, rather than a young and precocious adult. She was enthusiastic and made mistakes that an inexperienced child would make. I liked that. She also seemed like she was a talented healer, which was also nice. They were promoting her beyond her years, which bothered me, but at least she seemed like a good candidate. I also liked that you were in just a few areas at a time, and when you were finished in the region you did not go back to it. That limited the need for the map areas to be highlighted when there was something to do in the area. That was good, as the only level available that highlighted map areas of interest was the beginner level, which also showed sparkles everywhere. I had some issues with some of the game play itself. Apparently the evil warriors are blind and mostly deaf. Otherwise, how could you spend several minutes hitting wooden posts in a barn within a few feet of the warrior, and he doesn't notice until you send the whole shelf crashing down? I also didn't see how this game is part of the "Echoes of the Past" series. I enjoyed playing those games, and I was looking forward to this one. But there was no reference to the kingdom of the other games, nor was there any reference to its characters. The only possible connection I could think of was that the evil person here becomes the witch of the other stories. Sort of an origin story. But if that is the case, it isn't clear to me. The HOPS are a variety of kinds, including lists with some interactive aspects, riddles and silhouettes. I don't play with sound, so cannot comment on that. The art work was on par with the other games in the series. There were three levels of play, and I tried the beginner level for the demo and the intermediate level for the game itself. Both were fine. The hint button was very helpful, allowing you to jump to the location with something to do. Each area had a jump map associated with it, which I also liked. The game is a decent length, though a bit on the short side. There are no extras like extra collectibles or achievements in the standard edition (SE). All in all, it was a good game and worth the price - especially if it is on sale. :) November 17, 2014
Truly enjoyable I love when BF has games I can use my coupons on. This one was a decent game. Though I am not a fan of the grainy graphic style it was a good storyline with plenty to do. The game provides an interactive map which prevents a lot of walking around which was never too bad anyway. The music is familiar and unobtrusive. The voiceovers were good as well. Nothing was especially difficult though some may find the game too easy but it was fun. This was a solid game. November 19, 2014
Save Healers Mira was to become a healer but she has to save the others first. This SE has many features: a story book, map, wolf/man assistant and a helpful hint key that can jump you from one location to another. The hidden objects had riddles and silhouettes. There are also several good mini-games. November 26, 2014

Fun Game! If you enjoy more adventure with a splash of hos you will like this game. The graphics are nice and there a lot of fun puzzles. January 21, 2015
Interesting Game! Good game, interesting story line. Like the way game closes areas, once that part is completed; no back and forth. Very little HOs. Good puzzles, no info when playing hardcore, making them a little difficult to figure out; but mostly pretty easy. Good journal and interactive map. Good fun! January 1, 2016
Visually good but slow I had high hopes for this one. But I found it very slow going.By the time I got to the the Puppet show style hang the missing bits up, I was tired of all the waiting around. It was just back and forward for me and then suddenly I had to wait while something did not a lot before I could get going again.I just could not seem to get going. Nothing to collect on the way and no achievements to gain I am afraid I lost patience. Graphics are nice and pleasant Music. I would still recommend as it is a nicely designed Game but not for me I am afraid. I let my 4 year old grandaughter do the puppet style Puzzles. she finished them on her own So it is a no buy for me wendy November 17, 2014
