I was Hooked This is really quite a great game.. The story line is a little hokey, but well ignore that and it can be a great game The music is not bad, but I turned it off, and the voices are clear and easy to understand The HOG's are good, some scenes are a little hard to find the items, but not to to the point where you want to quit or use a hint. The puzzles are quite easy actually, not much challenge. There is a interactive map which is good because there is some moving from point A to point B to get some stuff done.. I didn't find the interactive help really helpful at all, but if a person has played games like this before, then there is no problem figuring things out.. All in all, a fun game and well worth the credit I used to get it... February 24, 2015
REALLY GOOD GAME Plot of this game is quite typical for games of such genre. But I enjoyed the world of fantasy where Nathaniel searched for his fiancee Gloria. Graphic art is very good. There are a lot of puzzles over which I racked my brains for some time. The game itself turned out not so easy as I thought in the beginning. The only thing that I can't understand is the absence of the fragment in the main menu. I thought that it is a bonus in the end of the game. But nothing has changed after I completed it. Maybe this is an achievment from CE? But I haven't found CE version. It is the only mystery in the game which I didn't solve. March 15, 2015
I love fantasy! This game is really nice. There are a lot of mini-games and puzzles. I enjoy the one where you need to defend the tower from the war ships. Some puzzles are not very hard but require time for passing them. Graphic art is very good, and if to take into account that I really love fantasy, than I am just delighted with it. Plot softly engaged me and forced to fully complete the game. Music was quite boring and depressed me but I switched it off. March 18, 2015
Through The Looking Glass To A Whimsical World of Fairy Folk Enter a world of fantasy and cartoon-like characters with a "syrupy sweet" old school game from a new dev. You are the soon- to- be- wed husband of a young Hipster couple. While fixing up your new house, your fianc is abducted by a mirror. What dark creature has captured your beloved and where has he taken her? Completing the task of fixing the mirror, you end up in an enchanted land. You must find your fianc. For an SE, it is a decent game and worthy of a five star rating. However, it is old school, and did not capture my interest. I soon became bored playing this game and the "muzac" (I am not a fan of "Irish" fairy folk or music) almost put me to sleep. It is worth a coupon, however and it will appeal to some on this site. LEVELS: 3 - Casual (Sparkles and penalties) Advanced (No sparkles - penalties) Hard (No hints or skips - penalties) GRAPHICS: Cartoonish with garish red contrasted with bright emerald green. There is mouth movement for the characters. PUZZLES: Since there is only a 30 minute demo, I did not encounter many. In the demo I encountered: A. Move items aside to find an inventory item B. Move a ship through obstacles which I found it hard to navigate - very slow and tedious. I spent way too much time with this puzzle. Very poorly constructed. C. Play "chemist" and formulate a fertilizing potion with" rose petals and butterfly pollen" How sweet! Oh - the wondrous world of fantasy! LOL Yeah - right I so want to work at that plant. HOP SCENES: In the demo I encountered: A. Locate a certain amount of an item B. Junk piles and somewhat interactive I RATE THIS GAME 4 RED BUTTERFLIES OUT OF 5 GREEN BUTTERFLIES. HOPE YOU AREN'T COLOR BLIND! February 24, 2015
I like this game Nice drawing. Thrilling plot with unexpected denouement. Big enough for the standart game. There are a few mini-games over which you need to think hard. As a whole, game is very fine and worthy. Fans of fantasy will not be dissapointed. I recommend it to the fans of this genre. February 26, 2015
Fantastic I loved every second. I did the beta version, so I was really happy when it was released, it didn't disappoint me at all, it looks like they manned up the male lead, as for me in the beta he was a wimp. I can't see why anyone would be disappointed in any way with this game. The interactive map works, and the hint, the only thing that annoyed me was the hint, a sheet of paper comes out, and flies, and then it reaches where you need to go, but that's it February 27, 2015
Magic Gate: Faces of Darkness Another great hidden object game to play February 29, 2016
Visually stimulating Loved this! Not too hard and very visually stimulating. March 1, 2015
The Magical World Of Elyrium Nathaniel and his fiancee, Gloria have just moved into their first home together. Gloria couldn't be more excited with the trove of treasures the previous owners left behind, except for the creepy antique mirror in the corner of the room. Her suspicions prove her right when the mirror seems to come to life, as it grabs her and yanks her through the mirror portal. Nathaniel may be in disbelief, but her certainly doesn't hesitate to enter the mirror portal, and enter another world....the magical world of Elyrium! This game won't qualify for game of the year, but it does qualify for a game with solid entertainment. The graphics aren't the best, but it doesn't hamper the game mechanics in the least bit, besides that, you will be too engrossed in the story to notice. The Hidden object Scenes are very well done, although some of the items are tiny, they are still identifiable, and there are plenty of interactive list finds to satisfy any HOS fan. The Mini games were uncomplicated, but fun. My favorite game was guiding a ship through a winding river, avoiding cyclones, rocks, sharks and giant octopus. If your ship doesn't avoid these obstacles you must start the course all over. Most of the tasks are logical, and there are plenty of activities to do in each scene. Although it wasn't a new task, I loved the talking old man in the door who asks you to solve three riddles before allowing you to enter the house, this really is an enjoyable game, enjoy! I like this game... and it's a standard version from the get go Pilot Games is a new developer using Magic Gate its initial offering to the HOPA world of games. From the start one of the more pleasing aspects is that we get a rare game in which the proposed savior of the day is MALE!!. Nathaniel and his new bride have entered into their first home. It doesn't take long before the woman, Olivia, is abducted by a ghoulish specter and taken through the mirror. Nate is able to follow her since the mirror is a portal to an alien world. He must perform certain tasks such as making a flute for a satyr, feeding a cat, formulating a growth potion etc. He does so via hidden object segments and puzzles typical to the genre. Some of the puzzles are clever although we have seen them all before. I likes one where a ship needs navigating through hazards such as whirlpools, reefs, avoiding deadly sea creatures. The game has its flaws. One is retrieving lockpicks from a " chicken " that is actually a crow. There are a few more similar typos. Either quality control is lacking or the developer does not use English as a first language. I really liked the way the hidden object scenes are handled with some items cleverly hidden in plain sight. I used up all of the demo time which went by rather fast since I became so engrossed by the game. Faces of Darkness is nothing new in its story telling and the typos and other goofs prevent me from calling this a 5 star effort. It is good enough to warrant an SE purchase or to use a free game code. February 24, 2015
