Demon Hunter 2: A New Chapter 4.1 5 27 27
Fantastic Sequel With Devilishly Creative Puzzles Twenty years have passed since the Archdemon Ragner killed Dawn's father, which means she is the last remaining member of the demon hunters organization. In the beginning God created man who lived side by side with the angels, but man was tempted by evil, and evil prevailed! So begins the first armageddon, some angles sided with man, some sought to destroy man. Since then evil exists as do the angel demonhunter's who seek to destroy them, unfortunately, Dawn is the last man, er... woman standing! I have to give kudos to the devs, who have created a great sequel with an interesting plot and decent graphics. Above all, I love the creative puzzles available, most of which are unique. There are Collectibles available starting with 6 Bronze Swords within the demo, an abundance of Achievements to earn, and there are even Morphing Objects within the HOP's! Dawn has an Amulet that protects her from danger, and that's a good thing because someone is trying to kill her every chance they get. The Hidden Object Scenes are mostly interactive list finds, with words in turquoise color requiring either an interaction to expose the questioned item, or a Morphing Item that can only be acquired when it's in the correct form. There are also Silhouetted shape finds available and several Rube Goldberg type puzzles where you find missing items in the scene and replace them where they belong to start the reactions when the parts are found. Most of the scenes are repeated, but this is the first time I didn't mind because the second time around is a completely different type of HOP. The Mini Games are really fun and doable such as preparing a helicopter for liftoff by tinkering with the correct sequence of colored buttons, setting gauges from clues shown, clicking switches to the correct positions and pressing specific buttons. The next Mini game requires you to set the correct symbol on the correct shape of gears on the left and right by finding the spinning gear in the middle that matches the shape of the gear on the right and then switching the symbol on the gears on the left. The third mini game requires you to use or combine the elements of earth wind fire and water to create the correct item that is required as a story is being told. The fourth mini game is similar to the helicopter game where you use clues shown to set dials, switches and slides to receive code symbols. The fifth mini game in the demo is a game of Clue but I ran out of time before completing the puzzle. This game is definitely worthy of a credit, try the demo first, but for me, the mini games and HOP's are what make this game so interesting. Enjoy! August 25, 2015
Another great game from Brave Giant - my favorite developer! I loved the first Demon Hunters (who wasn't charmed by Mr. Hickory and his delightful elderly owner?), and was so happy when this sequel was released. (I will admit, I couldn't wait, and bought it elsewhere...) The puzzles are challenging, and remain so throughout the game. I disagree the "good stuff" is in the demo time only! I enjoyed every minute, of every hour, I played and never got bored. The HOS are varied types. They include very nicely done morphing objects as well. The graphics at lovely, the music non-obtrusive, and I appreciated the characters and their voice overs. It's one of those SE gems with collectibles and achievements! Here there are swords, sets of them in each "chapter." One achievement I found impossible to get was the one about watching the tutorial. I played on the hardest mode (and thanks Boris, no sparkles, although at times I thought I detected teeny glints when first entering a location) there was NO tutorial! I restarted under a new profile to be sure, and no tutorial. If there is anything I could suggest for improvement I would only mention the German Shepherd and the anteater (no they aren't helpers!). Many players don't want to see the thing that we have to "fix." I do suggest players play the first game (Demon Hunters: Chronicles from Beyond - The Untold Story) before this one. While it isn't required, it helps set the scene and story. I also highly recommend their Queen's Quest: Tower of Darkness, a game that as as near to my "perfect" as possible! August 25, 2015
LOVED IT - RAGNOR IS BACK I had just finished playing 'Demon Hunter - Chronicles from Beyond' which I really enjoyed, so I was excited to play this game, which carries on 20 years later. This really is a top notch game and so worth playing. There is: * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Regular, Advanced and Expert modes of play; * Journal; * Interactive map; * 18 Achievements (bronze, silver and gold); * Find 24 swords throughout the game. The graphics are very colourful and crisp. Everywhere is clear to see to find objects and to undertake tasks. Sound is good. There are about 5 different pieces of music - mainly orchestral and piano and some organ pipes. The hidden object games are interactive straightforward, silhouette and putting items back. All HOS have morphing objects to find as well. You will do these twice. They are very clear and easy to see and each one only takes between 1-2 minutes to do. I loved doing them. There are a good variety of mini-games ranging from easy to hard. The one I got stuck on for a while was getting through the basement door. It took me ages and when the door finally opened I leaped up and did a dance around the room! Finding all the swords was quite challenging as some were blended well into the scenery. I just made sure I found those first before I did anything else so I wouldn't forget. All up, the game took me about 7 hours to play on Expert mode, and not skipping any games or getting any hints. I found I didn't need to use the interactive map because you don't head off too far and its easy to remember where tasks are to do. However, I think if I remember right that Regular and Advanced modes show in the interactive map where tasks are to do, but the Expert mode does not. This game comes definitely recommended. A big thank you to Boris and his team for doing a brilliant job and I cannot wait for their next game to come out. Well done. September 3, 2015
So Surprised I just finished the demo on this game. I was so surprised at the detail and quality of it as a SE game. I am buying it. So much included, that it is outstanding for a SE. The voice overs were really good as well as the clear graphics. Really enjoyed the puzzles and HOS with morphing item in there as well as in the scenes. No junk piles where the HOS are concerned. The story line is good as well as the music. August 25, 2015
Just Impressed by everything! When I decided to use my coupon on this game I didn't expect it to be that marvelous because everything looked like I just bought a CE.It had collectibles(6 swords on every part of the map),really carefully drawn scenes with the beautiful physics on the go,it had a bonus chapter, which is really long and there are archievements which are really difficult and they're divided in 3 parts:bronze, silver, gold(In the gold archievements you had to guess it from the title, because there was no desription) Now for the game play. The interface looked pretty good and ordinary and the storyline was just amazing and I was really intrigued by it*. Also the only thing that I didn't like was the music that It played again and again but it's not a CE so I didn't expect it to have a 2nd soundtrack. So that's what I have to say about it and that I strongly recommend it,because the developer has made an amazing try and I don't think that it should go unseen because it's not a CE September 21, 2015
Excellent SE Everything good about this game has already been mentioned by fellow fishies. I love the graphics, very detailed and lifelike. Great colors. Plays like a CE with collectibles etc. Very complex puzzles and great story. I have not bought a game in a long time, but this one is a must. August 26, 2015
That 60 minute Demo. was gone too fast. Played day early, Casual. Only 3 modes of play but it's a Standard Edition NOT CE. Excellent map with available activities noted. Morphing objects (several) in each Hidden Object scene. Also were 6 Collectible swords in the Demo 60 minutes. I definitely recommend you try it. I bought and truly enjoyed their 1st game: Demon Hunter: Chronicles From Beyond - The Untold story. Puzzles were a little tricky but I really enjoyed this game. Thank you Devs.! August 25, 2015
Better than most CE A contender for favorite game. The plot makes sense, the graphics are different than the increasing repetitive Elephant games efforts, and the music fits the story. And best of all, I got it for a free game credit! August 25, 2015
There's a New Kid on the Block! Yes! Her name is Miss Dawn and demon hunting is her claim to fame. Still, Miss Dawn has a gentle side and stops to feed the animals or injure the hurting. Loved the first game and this sequel as well. Developers did some tweaking with more clarity and brighter scenes. Everything else is the same and better than ever--art work is superb, hidden object scenes with morphing objects, collectibles, puzzles, non-invasive music, game length, cut scenes, voice overs, bonus game play, story line, etc. Wow! Gotta catch my breath! All the above goodies in a standard version game. Move over big name developers, Boris and his team of Demon Hunters is a force to reckon with here on BFG. Enjoy! -Mama Mia- September 1, 2015
Great sequel to Demon Hunter Chronicles from Beyond... Demon Hunter 2 ? A New Chapter is a breathtaking hidden object adventure! Twenty years ago Dawn?s foster father was killed by the Archdemon Ragnar. Now rumours of Ragnar?s return are getting stronger. It?s up to Dawn, the last living member of the ancient order of demonhunters to stop Ragnar once and for all. Only you can help her! ?help demonhunter Dawn to defeat the evil Archdemon that killed her foster father ?prevent the Archdemon from breaking into our world and protect the gates ?play tons of breathtaking hidden object challenges and exciting mini-games ?enjoy a captivating storyline complete objectives and earn a wide variety of achievements (collect swords). This was one of the best SE HOG/Puzzle games I've played. Here are my favorite features in a good game: 1) Interesting storyline and characters 2) High quality graphics and music 3) Puzzles that are fun rather than simply being annoying barriers to progress and 4) Games within the game such as finding as many of a certain object within each scene for extra points. This game has all of these features. The only downsides were that the game is a little shorter than most I've played and there don't seem to be any other bonus features other than music and wallpaper, it could have been a good CE but it is a great SE. Other than that, this was a wonderful escape. Recommend to beginner and intermediate of all ages. August 28, 2015
