Genoa, 1298. Author Rustichello da Pisa shared his cell with a Venetian captain who spoke of a thousand and one fabulous lands. As a writer, Rustichello could not remain indifferent to the snippets of fabulous stories told by his new friend. He managed to convince him to tell his life story. And that is how Marco Polo, back from 25 years of traveling, began recounting his adventures. From his Genoa prison, the Venetian explorer remembers his travels: Venice, Acre, Jerusalem, Armenia, the Himalayas, all the way to the palace of great Kublai Khan.

If you enjoy adventure light .... Despite what another reviewer mistakenly referred to as "old" point and click adventures, well, surprise, there are MANY new adventure style games which are highly admired and extremely popular and the style is not going away anytime soon! Albeit, adventure games are not as popular here as many customers at this site prefer very casual gaming and in particular, hidden object. That being said, this is a delightful short but very sweet casual, adventure-light game with a few hidden object scenes within. The puzzles are challenging and, like most adventure style games, no... there is NOT a lot of hand holding and spoon feeding involved, yet more so than most main stream adventure games, thus the "light" label I've added. I am thoroughly pleased to recommend this wonderful little game that actual has an interactive storyline to offer that has a beginning, middle and end without running into chaos and nonsense which so many games appear to lean toward lately. The only negative remarks I recall are a couple of misspells and one ingredient which was supposed to by thyme but was actually rosemary. Overall the game was a pleasure to play and once I got into it, I had to play it straight to the end. Oh and btw, also despite reviews that there was no voice acting, there actually was occasional voice cuts between main scenes which were superbly, appropriately and professionally done... and, yes, the balance of the game was reading [gasp!]. So if you enjoy well-developed storylines, good [static] graphics which are beautifully drawn, as educationally focused adventure games with a twist, as well as challenging puzzles, you will want to buy this wonderful little game. Enjoy and happy gaming! btw: due to the preview video being directly over my review area, I am unable to edit... I apologize for any errs in advance. March 24, 2015
Came for the name, stay for the game As it says in the description it's more of an adventure/point and click than a hiddden object game. I was interested in the story of Marco Polo, the game was indeed appealing to me. The story line is pretty nice. I also really like the puzzles. I didn't finish the game yet but it's, for now, a pretty good purchase. March 18, 2015
Fantastic, different, adventure game. Not your average point and click style game! I found this game very different from other games I've played. I really liked it because I had to actually interact with things to solve puzzles to move forward. The scenes are very clear and the story is intriguing. I liked the boxes that gave me the historical facts on the items I picked up. I found it very educational. I know many people who play this game will not like it because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other games. But I believe the developers of this game did a fantastic job of putting it together. If you are looking for something different and challenging (and are a history buff) I highly recommend you give this game a try. If you aren't sure you want to buy it right away play the free trial then make your decision. November 18, 2015
Highly enjoyable game! This game was a very good surprise for me. It is great to play Marco, the greatest adventurer! The story and the puzzles are just fine! March 17, 2015
Great adventure and hidden object game A fine story and a matching great game play! March 17, 2015
Great Game but I can;t find the vial!! I like games like this, they make you think and provide a challenge that is outside a normal hidden object game. Meanwhile - does any one know where the vial is? July 15, 2015
Good Game, But Very Short I was really exited to see this game as it said it was a Point & Click Adventure. I have grown very tired of Hidden Objects, so I was slightly disappointed when HOS came up. I can usually sail through the HOS in under a minute but some of these HOS literally had you looking for needles. Needless to say, you will get a nice brush-up on your 6th grade history and that would make this game highly suitable for a young student in grade school or middle school. The music and graphics are beautiful, and the level of challenge on a few mini games was high. The only time you can use a hint is inside a HOS. You can skip puzzles, too. Overall, the game is fun, shares a bit of history, geography and minor Christianity. Being Jewish, it did not turn me off the game at all, it is always fun to learn about others faiths. The main downside was the length of the game. It took me all of 2 hours to complete. If you have a coupon or game credit or if there is a deep sale, like today, or a Daily Deal, then you may want to try this game. I would not, however pay full price for approximately 2 hours of gameplay. All that said, yes I recommend the game. March 17, 2015
A Welcome Change From Hidden Object Games Beautifully drawn game. Interesting storyline. I think I am going to like this one. Lots of challenge which I thoroughly appreciate in a game. I enjoy playing point and click games and have purchased many of the Nancy Drew games offered through Big Fish. These games are generally longer and take more thought to get through the game than the Hidden Object games. If you get stuck there is a pretty good hint system in the tasks menu that has helped me in the beginning. Dust off the brain cells and use your logic and reasoning skills. Check out The Travels of Marco Polo. You may find you enjoy it as much as I do. March 18, 2015
Very Nice Game BUT.... Although I am enjoying this game, I have a few complaints: 1. The hint button only works for some scenes. 2. The task button gives you incomplete information. 3. If you get stuck on a scene, good luck! There are no walkthroughs for this game and forums seem nonexistent. 4. The hidden objects list text and items to search for are much too tiny. If developers must make the text and items so tiny (without consideration for farsighted gamers), then they should include a magnifier as a search tool. Anyway, right now I am stuck at the task of getting wine for the monk. The hint button is inactive in the cellar, the task button doesn't give any useful information about how to get the wine and empty the cup. I've tried everything possible to no avail. Therefore, until someone else figures out and shares the info, I can't keep playing this nice historical game. March 29, 2015
Nice vintage adventure :) I like this game! It's not a classic hidden object game, it looks like old adventure point&click I played in my youth ;) There are a lot of riddles and puzzles, but just few hidden object scenes. The mini-games are fun even if some of them are too hard, the cycle of the moon is one of them! The storyline is interesting and music is very nice! I finished the game in less than 4 hours and for me, the principal fault of the game is the subite end. March 20, 2015
