PuppetShow: The Price of Immortality Collector's Edition 4.4 5 80 80
Back On Track It would seem PuppetShow has gotten the train back on track with The Price of Immortality, bravo! Everyone knows puppets aren't real, they don't experience emotion or pain......unless you live in the town of Immortale that is. Your investigation won't be easy, every journalist who has ever investigated this puppet town has never been heard from since, including your good friend Enrique Torres! This is a dangerous town where good puppets are pitted against evil puppets, hopefully you won't become just another missing journalist! You will collect several abandoned puppet dolls, one of which will help you every step of your investigation. A Dollhouse icon located next to the inventory bar will allow you to access this feature any time, and each doll can be upgraded with Doll Coins that you find throughout the game. Personally, I found this feature kind of worthless, nevertheless, it's a feature some will love. There are Achievements to earn and some of the inventory items have a magnifying glass above them which indicated that some type of interaction is necessary before that item can be used. The Hidden Object Scenes were a tad bit disappointing to me, the same scenes are repeated, and I really don't like that. With tasks such as replacing missing doll parts, the HOP's are on the easy side, but there are also good ole fashioned list finds as well. The Mini Games can be played in Casual or Hard modes which is a feature I do like, there are typical puzzles where you rotate pieces to fit in correct spots or even a wicked game of "find the missing girl" as an unlucky patron gets shuffled about by an overgrown puppet under larger than life cups. This Collectors Edition has replayable HOP's and Mini Games, Wallpapers, Concept Art, Screensavers, Movies, Music, Achievements, Collectible and upgradeable Dolls, a Dollhouse, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy March 20, 2015
I was pleasantly surprised The reason for the title is that although I have demoed all the other Puppet Show games I have never purchased one until today as I was really hooked on it. It gave me the creeps and goose bumps! We play as a reporter who is trying to find out what has happened to her friend, also a reporter, who has gone missing. Right at the beginning of the game we get to choose if we want to play as a male or female, and we get a choice of appearance from a selection of three pictures - nice touch devs. Levels: Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom. Length: 6 chapters plus the Bonus Game. Map: It?s a jump map that clearly shows active areas. You have to find the map (two pieces only) very near the beginning of the game. Inventory: Lockable. HOS: They started with Put the Items back in the Scene, then Collect Items that Relate to each other and then Lists which are interactive. Mini Games/Puzzles: I have not seen some of these before, they are varied and beautifully done and not too hard to complete so far. Helper: A Puppet of course, who gets into small spaces or dark places to collect something for you. Achievements: 15 Collectibles: Tokens dotted around in each scene and I believe there are 75 to collect. Dolls House: 12 to collect throughout the game and we get the chance to improve them, probably using the tokens mentioned above. Extras: Wallpapers, Concept Art, Screen Savers, Movies and Music. Also included are re-playable HOS and Mini Games. March 19, 2015
Get the collectors edition I loved this game right to end of the standard part and then was really annoyed. It was a very abrupt "hello you were just in time" - The End. It was not a satisfactory ending as far as I am concerned and was thankful that I had bought the Collectors Edition. I have been really fed up with a number of other games I bought as Standard only to find a bad ending like this. It is like reading a book with the last page missing. Bonus chapters should be a bonus, not used to finish the story. This is why I mostly buy Collectors Editions now because I have been let down many times. Anyway after that rant.....the game was great. Loved the artwork, the map, the HOS, the minigames and even the music. The minigames were a bit different and I like that you could choose difficult or easy. I play these games for enjoyment, not to be challenged out of my mind. Overall it was very enjoyable and has now put me in the mood to go back and play my other PuppetShow games March 23, 2015
BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED IN WELL.... EVER!!!!!! There is no other way to say this... I WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY BY THIS GAME! No amount of stars can aptly describe the incredible artistry, imagination, pure innovation, and plain fun that is the latest installment of PuppetShow. The Price of Immortality is an simply an experience that must not be missed. Halfway through, I noticed I was playing the game VERY slowly. I do this when something is just exceptional... and I simply don't want it to end. Until I realized that I could play it all over again... which I did. It was just that good... really. But hey... download the demo and see for yourself. For me, this game was pure genius... WOW... JUST WOW!! THE Price of Immortality has set the bar VERY HIGH... and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE!! Exceptional Game! I have two favorite game series, Mystery Case Files and Puppet Show. However, to be honest, I liked the last couple of Puppet Show games but I wasn't wild about them. This game brought back the excitement of Puppet Show! This is a very interesting, exciting, and very well done game. Most games I usually play for about an hour and then wait and play again the next morning but this one held my interest so much that 2 hours went by and I still did not want to leave it. The graphics, story, puzzles, and HO are all excellent. Try it and you'll love it! March 20, 2015
PuppetShow 6 deserves Editor's Choice! Fans of the cult classic Puppet Show series are going to love this edition. If you haven't played the previous ones, starting with this one won't matter. You arrive in the town of Immortale hoping to find your journalist friend Enrique. Soon you discover that Puppets are killing humans in the theater using a number ballot and your next. Discover who the mysterious Dr. "D" is and thwart his evil plan. Meet the Mayor and his daughter Helen as they guide you on this bizarre quest. Prepare to spend several hours solving this excellent HOPA. I loved every second of gameplay and I have played all editions in the series. Remember to check out the extra's before beginning the CE.. This Collectors Edition has replay HOP's and Mini Games, Wallpapers, Concept Art, Screensavers, Movies, Music, Achievements, Collectible and upgradeable Dolls, a Dollhouse, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter! I never give a 5 STAR!!! I am elated after the demo and can't wait to continue the adventure. I've played all PuppetShow games, some were very good, some just so-so, but this one, based on the demo, is awesome. Visual and sound were excellent and challenge was hard enough that I did need the guide a couple of times. HO's were well done and different varieties and the puzzles were different and I didn't dislike them, which for me, is unheard of. Love the story, felt like I was watching an exciting movie. I only review the categories and don't go tell you the story as the game description does that and you don't need a bunch of wordy reviews. All I'm here to tell you is, this game must be best of the year. I just hope that the rest of the game doesn't burst my bubble. March 19, 2015
Awesome job team! This is to me by far the best Puppetshow ever. For your main character, you get to choose whether you want a male or female. There is as always a custom setting. As collectibles you find dolls. Note on the collectibles. You will see where the doll are in the guide, but you do not just click on them and collect them. Some are in hog scenes, but the game will tell you when to collect it. Some you have to give them missing body parts in order to collect them. You also collect coins to upgrade the dolls. The upgrades are cute. on the bottom left is the doll house. The VO's were done exceptionally well in this game. We have a little sidekick puppet who is extremely handy. She not only collects things for you, but her hat works as a flashlight and she warns of things that are going to happen. And of course it wouldn't be Puppetshow without the comical spider puppets. Story: You play as a reporter and you were sent a letter by your best friend Enrique Torres. He needs your help. So naturally you go trucking off to give him aid. Upon your arrival you meet the Sheriff (who from the first meeting seems shady). As you see more of the story unfold, you see why I said that. Your next encounter is with a woman named Helen. She is on your side from the beginning because she is in love with Enrique. She tells us that he is the next one to 'perform' at the the Theater of Emotions. So you and Helen team up to try and save Enrique. Graphics: Totally awesome! This team has one of the best graphics team ever. Music: Couldn't be any better. Really adds to the spookiness of the game. Mini Games: Gives you a choice of 'Hard' or 'Casual' mode. So far all the mini games I've played are original. They are not to hard or easy no matter which mode I chose. They are really fun. Map: Very animated map. Nicely done. You have: A little dude-means you are here, a blue exclamation point-means unknown, a red exclamation point-means something to do there, and a green check mark-means area is completed. And it's a jump map. Hint system: I don't use it in H0GS cause I like to go for the achievements, but outside of H0GS it is a huge help. Between the map and hint button, I just use the guide if I'm stuck on a puzzle. Again team, kudos to all of you for an awesome game. I highly recommend this game. March 19, 2015
Another Great Game In This Series .... Great Graphics, Sound, Animations, Voice & Video Bits ... By Far The Best In This Series So Far ... So Much New Depth To The Graphics & In-Game Effects ... Will Look Forward To More ... Nice Bonus Chapter Too, And Worth Having On A Special Deal ... March 22, 2015
Meets expectations This particular Puppetshow in the series meets expectations and is a good addition to the series. PROS: -Storyline is different from others in series, but not too different which allows it flow well with its previous competitors. -Graphics excellent. Music goes well with game. -I liked the added change to game that allowed me to select the character I wanted. -Map available, hint works just as good to know where to go next. -Good amount of HOS, not too many and not too less. -Good number of puzzles. -The conversational scenes were not too boring. -The puppet that helps you throughout game was a nice touch to game. -Plenty of Bonus content, a lot more than other games recently played. -Bonus chapter helped the story continue. CONS: -many of the puzzles were a good challenge, but several were way too easy. -Had a lot of trouble finding the bonus chapter as it was not labeled as bonus chapter in bonus contents. Ended up using forums to find it. -Length was a tad short for me. Main game took right under 4 hours for me (about 3.5-4) and bonus too about an hour. I prefer longer games. July 9, 2015
