Weather Lord: The Successor's Path 3.2 5 32 32
He Who Controls The Weather Becomes King Victor needs to find the missing Magic Weather Artifacts to become the King of Flaywind. This Time Management game requires the normal tasks, collecting resources such as wood, food, and gold. To increase production of these valuable resources, you need to build Sawmills, Food Mills and Gold Forges, and Houses to hire more workers. You have to choose your tasks strategically or you won't have the required amount of resources to continue. As you find the missing weather artifacts, you will have the control of weather such as clouds to produce rain and the sun to dry swamps, when a resource is depleted, you drag the cloud to the wheat or trees to produce more. You have to hire warriors to defeat the Golems that will otherwise scare away the workers, repair bridges, build portals and talk to all the creatures and citizens who will ask for your help with different tasks along the way. The graphics are really well done and each level gives you new items or tasks to achieve, and there are awards to earn as well. Enjoy! April 8, 2015
A good sequel to the first game! I'm tired of stale resource collecting games that are all the same but in different settings/storylines/characters - "Collect wood, collect stone, remove obstacles, build buildings". Blah. That's why I loved the first weatherlord game and this one is more a continuation of the same theme. You get the puzzle of a resource management game but with added twists of creating your own resources with various artifacts of weather. I also like the tower elements in these games. The level of challenge of getting gold time in this edition starts off extremely easy, but does get harder toward the underground levels. However, if you do not wish to beat the clock, you don't have to. You don't lose a level if the timer runs out. I only took a point off visual/sound quality because the music is very repetitive between levels and they could have done more to mix it up. April 9, 2015
A Great Sequel If you liked the last two Weather Lord games in the series, you'll like this one too. Plenty of challenges and a new element to use (snow). If you don't enjoy fast-paced time management games, skip this one. April 25, 2015
Love it Yes it's challenging but that's a good thing. I find games where you can get gold first time dull so I like this game because it's a bit hard in places. Sometimes it does take you a while to work out what you need to do but if you don't like being spoon fed your answers then this is a good game for you. I like to combination of defeating enemies, building and collecting resources. I'd buy a second edition if and when it comes out. April 30, 2015
Weather Lord: The Successor's Path Another great game in the series April 8, 2015
It requires strategy The five star rating is deserved. All the complaining about the levels being impossible to get gold in are exaggerated. I had little trouble getting gold up to level 20 or so. It does get harder after that. Thank goodness! Most levels will require you to play them twice. One time to figure out what resources are really necessary, a second to get gold with what you have learned. There is no need to build and upgrade ALL buildings on ALL levels. Build what you need, use enhanced warriors, focus on the tasks. I bought all of the games in this series and enjoy the challenge. These games fun and aren't beaten in a few hours of hardcore play. Well worth buying in my opinion; June 22, 2016
Good while it lasted! In a rare move, I purchased this game without even trying it first. That's how starved I was for a new time management game. With around 150 games in my Big Fish library, I have exhausted all my road building options! I really enjoyed the first 12 levels. Weather Lord is not my favorite game series, but it is very good and I enjoy the way the series has improved. From what I can tell so far, this version introduces power-ups for the soldiers to help them fight more efficiently. I noticed that someone complained that it was difficult to get gold on the early levels - which is true. I had to play some of the first levels several times to time them exactly. However, things got easier and there was more leeway by level 6. For me it is difficult enough to be challenging, but not difficult enough to require multiple attempts. However, it all came to a screeching halt at the end of level 13. No matter how I play, it ends up freezing at the end of the level. I've submitted a Dr. Felix report and am awaiting a fix, but for now I am stuck replaying old games and hoping Big Fish will bring us a new TM game soon. I've seen this same level 13 crash complaint several times in the forum, so just wanted to give others out there a head's up. I would recommend this game, but only after an update. April 9, 2015
Intriguing Time Management game To me, this is a fast paced game that has many aspects not found in other time management games. The ability to use the "weather" to grow trees, crops, destroy swamps and fight enemies make it worth the time to download and play. The music is soothing and the graphics are ok. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the story line, but in time management games it often doesn't mean a lot to me. I am considering buying this game as it did get my interest. I only wish there was a "casual" mode and a strategy guide. April 8, 2015
Worth playing I went through the first half dozen levels after initially seeing the game and I believe that it will be like the previous Weather Lord games. I consider them to have all been worth playing so far and I have the expectation that when I have more time, I shall enjoy this game too. You still manipulate the weather for your own desires on each level and you still have buildings to build, as with previous games. This game may not be great, but is seems to be worth playing. I might add that I have run out of time on two levels so far. I could still finish but I got no award; not that I care. So for the other lovers of untimed games, this should not be an impediment to enjoying the game. April 8, 2015
Challenging, Fun and Different Very enjoyable time management game. Enjoyed using the weather components to upgrade characters and replenish raw materials. I am always amazed at how people truly dislike challenging games. The reviews here remind me of Safecracker, another difficult game I loved. Although difficult, I LOVE challenging games which require a great deal of strategic thinking to get gold....hence my love of TM games. The latest releases in this genre have all seemed like retreads with different characters and stories. Not this one. It reminds me of the Princess series, but with the added weather features it feels a bit different. Unlike the Princess series, failing on a level does not prevent me from moving to the next level. As a result, I can play through at my leisure or go for the gold. For me, this makes an ideal game for relaxation or challenge as well as enhanced replay value. Bottom line...if you like a challenging game, give it a try. If not, you will probably get frustrated unless you can enjoy playing without seeking success goals. Looking forward to hours of play working out the strategy to get the gold. (Lost a star for bad instructions, not seeing all goals at once and wind graphic being difficult to find in the sometimes cluttered interface.} April 20, 2015
