PuppetShow: The Price of Immortality 4.2 5 19 19
Who's Pulling The Strings? I'm thrilled that PuppetShow has finally gotten the train back on the track, and the engines are set for full speed ahead with The Price of Immortality! If you thought that puppets weren't real, that they were incapable of thoughts or feelings, then you've never visited the town of Immortale! It will be a difficult investigation knowing that every journalist who has ever investigated this puppet town hasn't been heard from again, including your good friend Enrique Torres! This is a dangerous town where good puppets are pitted against evil puppets, hopefully you won't become just another statistic, another missing journalist! The Hidden Object Scenes were a tad bit disappointing to me, the same scenes are repeated, and I really don't like that. With tasks such as replacing missing doll parts, the HOP's are on the easy side, but there are also good ole fashioned list finds as well. The Mini Games can be played in Casual or Hard modes which is a feature I do like, there are typical puzzles where you rotate pieces to fit in correct spots or even a wicked game of "find the missing girl" as an unlucky patron gets shuffled about by an overgrown puppet under larger than life cups. The Collectors Edition has replayable HOP's and Mini Games, Wallpapers, Concept Art, Screensavers, Movies, Music, Achievements, Collectible and upgradeable Dolls, a Dollhouse, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy April 13, 2015
This is how it's done! I played the SE version on expert difficulty. It took me over 5 hours to complete (w/o using hints or skipping). You get a map but no notebook. Instead, if you find a hint for a puzzle it ends up in you inventory until you can apply it to the corresponding puzzle. I liked that a lot! The SE has no achievements or collectibles. Puppetshow: Price of Immortality has it all, great visuals and sound, interesting storyline, and best of all, actually requires you to think at times. I immediately liked the theme of this game, reminded me of steampunk design in places. Every location has a lot of details, all fitting to the general theme, it is really worth looking around a bit. The art style is bright and clear and even a bit cutsey, but the story of the game is definitely not cute and you see disturbing signs of that right from the start and the contrast adds to the creepy factor. You get a little helper, who is not only lovely but also indeed very helpful since she lets you see in dark places and can crawl in tiny spaces. There are a variety of HOs, some classical list-based ones but also some where you need to look for outlines, or pairs of things, or items that fit to a specific theme. Most have some interactive element, too. A few HOs are very unusual, e.g. there is one were you have to look for animal-shaped clouds with a spyglass. The minigames are of varying difficulty, some very easy, while others take some time to figure out, just as I like it. If you play a lot of this type of game you'll know a few of them in principle already, but the game designers managed to give even these a new touch with their unique style. What I liked most about Puppetshow, though, was the way in which all the HOs and minigames and quests to find items were tied into the storyline. To give an example, at some point you need to dress a puppet for a ruse. To complete this task you need to open some boxes/doors, complete a HOs, find some bits and piece etc, and after each miniquest you've completed you can put another part of the costume on the puppet. Throughout the game you always have these intermediate goals you are working towards, so you never have to ask yourself, why am I doing this again? Another nice detail is that you can choose whether you want to play as a man or woman and between three different looks for each. I do recommend to play as a woman, though, since the female voice does sound a lot more natural than the male voice, imo. My only complaint with this game is that the ending is quite abrupt. Yes, you did what you came to do, but there is no final dialogue or anything, just a short cutscene and that's it. Compared to the love they put into the rest of the game that is a bit disappointing. Maybe there is a more elaborate ending in the CE version. Overall I liked this game a lot, definitely among my favourites. Check out the demo, you won't regret it! May 29, 2015
Nice puppets and evil puppets... This is the first puppet show game I?ve played of the series. It was weird and bizarre, but in a good way! The characters had personality, and the townspeople were very creepy. It was slightly violent. Good graphics, HOPS and puzzles. Lots of places to go to. I reckon this game strikes a chord with us, because there?s an element of truth to it. The real world can be such a mechanical place at times, like it chugs along of its own accord with rules and regulations, but people often end up losing a connection with their emotions and become numb because of the harshness and/or the inflexibility of the reality they are living. Then to feel alive, they do something stupid. And, haven't we all been there? November 16, 2015
Wow, Wow and More ................ Wow! Based on both the SE and CE demos. Normally I don't purchase the "PuppetShow" series. I think I have the one before this ..... but THIS.............. um ...... WOW!!!!! The storyline is very well done .... it hooks you right in from the very beginning. From the creepy narrator telling us how people don't appreciate the older things in life .... like puppets, to your character getting a "cry-for-help" letter from his/her bestie .... Enrique. The reason I denote "his/her" above is because when you set up your profile ..... you get to choose between a male or female character AND there are 3 different characters to choose from - how COOL is THAT!!!!! The graphics are very well done. Maybe TOO well done!?!?!? lol Definitely a game with a bit of a creep value. The voice overs were beyond excellent. Somehow, this Dev was able to make a tiny doll's voice sound either innocent or devilish. The music is spot on. Sound fx couldn't get any better. There are 4 difficulty modes: Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom. You are equipped with a rather unusual map. It shows all the customary "I'm here. Here's an open task, etc." I found it a bit tricky to maneuver ... but that was just me. There is a "task" tab .... just in case you forget ...... but no journal/diary. There is a helper ..... a VERY lovely doll/puppet who can not only go into small places but dark places as well. Pretty darn handy. As mentioned above, I played both the SE and the CE demos. I DEFINITELY got my personal "wow" factor when the SE ended. The "WHAT????? I want MORE! I HAVE to buy it NOW!" factor. lol. I recommend this for all levels of difficulty. In case you hadn't figured it out., the CE was a DEFINITE purchase for me. I loved all those collectible dolls. Go figure. Come with me to the Theatre of Emotions ................. if you dare! ENJOY! May 21, 2015
Interesting and fun! Great game, and just a little bit spooky. My only complaint is that it ended too soon. I wanted to see what happened afterwards. May 24, 2015

puppetshow must have !! I do believe this is one of the best of the puppetshow series!! game playing time is long..so I felt I really got my $$$$ worth.can' really say to much about the music because I play with it off. April 19, 2015
looking for your friend your friend is missing and you need to find him. everyone in this strange place wears a mask and if you don't you will die. all humans are being put to death in a strange theatre show. the puppets are under control by someone who knows how to stop them but can't bring himself to do it. you need to find the spell that the town is under to destroy what is going on. a custom level and an interactive map helps lots. April 18, 2015
LOVED THIS GAME Really missed the PuppetShow games. But, too short. Would pay by the month for this series/game to go on and on. May 16, 2015
