Stick With it!! Awesome If people would just take their time and see how this game works you'd become addicted to it as I did. I played all levels in Newbie then in Professional. Its a huge challenge but worth it. You have to have enough golden Special Cards to make it to the next scene and play a new set of cards. A trick I found was when your clicking through the deck, go slow and the card you want will come up, if you go fast no cards matching will ever come up. I loved this and the first game. Id like to hope for a part 3, but based on these reviews and the amount of stars dished out to a game that doesnt deserve such bad ratings, I suppose there will be none. I give this a 5 stars. I loved the challenge and I truly loved the music and the scenery. Thanks developers! September 26, 2015
This is a great fun and relaxing Solitaire game. There are all kinds of solitaire games out but this game is fun, and relaxing. The music is great and not irritating. The cards are easy to read, and there are lots of bonuses to collect as you go so that if you need jokers, mulligans or what ever you collect points along the way so that you have them. You don't have to go to a store to purchase bonuses they will occur as you play as long as you have gained the points needed for them as you play. There is plenty of points you collect along the way and I dare say this particular game is very relaxing and not frustrating or annoying like some solitaires. I hope people give this a try as today in particular how and where else can you spend $2.99 and get such fun and relaxation? What have you got to lose in such a stressed out world we live in really? TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT. June 21, 2016
True Detective Solitaire 2 Another great game in the series June 11, 2015
Same as the First So Either/Or ? I bought the first True Detective Solitaire and even though I couldn't find any kind of story I really enjoyed the challenging play. The music! The music is wonderful and fun to listen to as you play each level. If you like solitaire that really makes you slow down and think about which card to choose, this game has it happening! It is sad that it is so much the same as the first. Even though the art work is very good and the game challenging, like Number one there's No story! The music is the same. I wish I could give it 5 stars, but sadly the devs really missed the mark. It's a toss up whether you choose the first one or this sequel/clone. Either one stands alone as a fun game but if you want something different between the two games it isn't there. Comon' 8Floor, try again! January 15, 2016
Apparently I Didn't Solve The First Crime I was able to overlook the fact that the "crime" was non existent in the first True Detective, and personally I don't really care if there is a storyline in a Solitaire game. What bothers me the most is the fact that this is the same exact game as the first one, with the exception of different backgrounds! I'm pretty sure that the card layouts are the same as well, same features, same music. I'm not hard to please, I love solitaire games, and quite frankly, this is a decent solitaire game, but I don't want to play the same game again. This game is a Higher/Lower card game where the goal is to place cards from the board onto the deck either one card higher or lower, regardless of suit, until all gold cards have been removed. You must earn enough points within the 10 game sets to unlock the next pack. There are two modes, one allows you to replay any level and the other only allows you to replay the entire deck. Cards with stars are worth more coins, but the main goal is to remove all gold cards, even if regular cards remain. You can choose from 9 different card designs and 3 face card designs. Combinations of 5 or more consecutive cards played will begin to fill the progress meter, if you make several combos, you will win the jackpot. There are Bonus cards available to purchase with your coins, Mulligan which will allow you to undo your last move including using a bonus, Shuffle will place all cards back into the deck and redeal them, and a Joker which is a wild card. This isn't a bad solitaire game, BUT it is the same exact game as the first True Detective. June 10, 2015
No Detecting Here! Was hoping it would be like Crime Solitaire;Smoking Gun, but alas, it's just another boring version of solitaire. Why do they name them with interesting names and descriptions that makes you think there is an adventure? Unless you are a solitaire nut and just want a change of screen, don't bother as there is nothing interesting here. When will developers understand that we want more for our money? Give us an interesting story to follow while we play, and then we'll buy your product. June 10, 2015
Where oh Where Have all the Good Solitaire Games Gone? Storyline: Oh yeah, there was none. Boring. Graphics: Everything was too small to read/see. Ultimately, I had to change the cards away from something 'nice' to the large print 'not quite so nice' cards which made playing the game ................. boring Sound FX: Were there any? Music: Ok. I could say it was 'detective-y' but I ultimately tuned it out. Voice Overs: Oh yeah. Since there's no storyline, there's no need for voice overs. Game Play: The gist of the game is to play 10 'hands' per level. Each hand will give you points for collecting the 'gold' cards. These gold cards must add up to "x" total number at the end of 10 hands in order to go on to the next level. If you don't have enough 'total' cards/points you need to replay previous hands until you do. What I Disliked: * The board game did not take up my entire screen even though it was set as "full screen". * The cards, menu selection, level indicators, etc. were too small for me to read. * Even though I had it set for a tutorial, I got a very basic one. The first level teaches you how to play the game - which is a basic hi/low card game. What are the starred cards for? What are the gold cards for? * When you finish your 10 levels, you are not told WHY you can't 'continue'. The word 'continue' is shadowed out so your only option is to 'replay'. However, THAT only allows you to play the last hand. To replay earlier hands you must got to "Pause", "Menu", "Levels". And, again, the level 'count' is too tiny to really read well. * After replaying "x" number of hands to gain enough 'points' to continue to the next level, there is no indication that you have reached that "x" magic number. You have to keep clicking on the next level's icon. When you can continue, you do. If there aren't enough points, you can't. * There are only THREE bonuses you can purchase. What I Liked: * The bonuses could be purchased just by clicking on the bonus icon rather than going to the 'store'. * The demo ended. I would not recommend this game for beginners because of the lack of info the tutorial gave. This game is a definite NO purchase for me. NO storyline. Very boring game. I was extremely glad when the demo ended. For those who like a straightforward, no-nonsense solitaire game ................. ENJOY June 10, 2015
Same old card game I like card games, but this is just the same old solitaire game with a different name. Same old same old. We need something new! June 10, 2015
I Agree With the General Concensus Such an intriguing game title and description -- only to find this is just another simple game of solitaire, with no bank robbery, no sleuthing and no villain. Perhaps the high ratings given to this game is because the other reviewers don't know of all the other great solitaire games out there. Games with awesome graphics, exciting sound effects, an actual story, and great powerups that are beneficial to game play. True Detective Solitaire 2 simply misses the mark in every way. I do not recommend it. But I DO recommend that you check out some of the awesome solitaire games that BFG has to offer! June 11, 2015
Huge Dissapointment Total waste of time, extremely boring and tedious. Requires many attempts to earn enough stars to move to the next level. This game is a complete dud! June 11, 2015
