Haunted Legends: The Dark Wishes 3.9 5 14 14
HAUNTED LEGENDS 6 RIPS THE EARS OF ERS BUNNY! ERS and Bigfish bring another edition of the cult classic series Haunted Legends: The Dark Wishes. Evil Saint Germaine returns as you play the role of the Professor. You must save two of your former students from a terrible destiny... Their names are Roberto and Lucia, and after they graduated from the Venetian University of Magic where you were their teacher, former students left Venice and travelled to Florence. There Roberto reached political success and became the Duke of Florence. In the same time Lucia advanced in magic and wizardry and finally created Philosopher?s Stone entrusted to Duke Roberto. They even invited you to their wedding, but looks like wedding will be cancelled! Lucia was found in Roberto?s house covered with blood and no sign of Roberto was found! Now she?s falsely accused of Roberto?s murder and only you can prevent her execution! You only have until Midnight before Lucia is beheaded. This installment of Haunted Legends is my favorite, yet I love and have played all of them. This point and click game is graphic, sinister, has perfect voice overs and excellent production values. I think fans will be blown away by the story...I totally loved it!!! June 7, 2015
Excellent game! All the fun you can have without the CE price. Always loved the Haunted Legends series and I wasn't disappointed! June 5, 2015
the dwarf is on the prowl again!!! you are a mage and have been asked to come to the location to help fight "the dwarf" and his idea of controlling the world with the philosopher stone. roberto and lucia (two of your students) are planning to get married when lucia is taken after being accused of roberto's murder. she is scheduled to be executed by beheading. there is a custom level and an interactive map. mini games are a mixed between not so hard and hard. the HO scenes are pretty clear. there a couple of different kinds. didn't use sound so i can't say anything about it. is there going to be a sequel......i am sure. the dwarf wouldn't have it any other way!!!! That little man is at it again! Hmm, what will be his Fate! ERS, I applaud you! Haunted Legends: The Dark Wishes, (SE version), was really a delightful game!. It wasn't a difficult game but the puzzles were tedious enough and it took patience on my part to want to complete them because I wanted to get back to the game, but obviously these puzzles are part of the game's equation. I don't play in casual mode any longer but you have the option to play a more difficult level if you wish. I'm giving this a 5-star because it was cleverly developed and lots of fun. The only negative I have is that the dialogue was a bit too long for my taste. But it still warrants a 5-star in my opinion. It's a great game for its genre. Each of the Fates had far too much dialogue, but I read the text faster than their spoken words and continued on to the next task. Ironically, the lil' man wasn't much of a talker! The voiceovers were good. The tasks were really cool. The artistry was awesome as usual for ERS. The variety of interactive hidden objects were awesome! The music, sound effects were great! I enjoyed all the tasks and I liked the fact that the items in the inventory were pretty much used right away. I loved being the "Smithie" of the moment! As for the storyline, okay, so it's good vs. evil again. There's no getting away from it unless the developers decide to kill off this deadly dude for good, and I mean for good or turn him into a good guy after all! I guess that would be too corny for some hardcore gamers! But this is a great game to just chill and have fun! A great stress buster! I highly recommend this game for all levels! Kick back and relax!! June 19, 2015
WOW;;;;WHAT A GAME OMG this game will take you into another world and you will have to keep playing GASP [Breath intake] what?s going to come next if U like fast pace games this is the one for you Enjoy Really... June 15, 2016
The Philosopher's Stone A villain has stolen the Philosopher's Stone, that villain is that evil little man we've all come to loathe throughout the Haunted Legends series, this time he may have gotten just deserves! The Philosopher's Stone can grant the wishes of those in need, however, in a twist of fate the same stone in the hands of evil, will weaken him. Roberto the Duke of Florence tried desperately to conceal the stones true nature from the dwarf, and was planning on granting the wishes of his people at his wedding with Lucia. This wedding may never take place, Roberto and Lucia, were two of your favorite students at the Florence Academy of Magic, but the keepers of the stone have other plans! What beautiful hand drawn artistry this newest edition of Haunted Legends has to offer! One thing I love about this series is the abundance of areas of interest, every scene has several inventory items to find, trinkets and intricate locks that are missing pieces, you just can't become bored. Because you are a Mage, you have a Magic Staff, and the Orb attached needs energy from magic threads, which is in the form of a HOP, of course! The Collector's Edition has the added features of an abundance of Achievements to earn and Collectible Pigeons to find and visit at the Pigeonry. The Hidden Object Scenes usually require you to find several items such as 4 fleur de lis, which opens up the list items to find, I actually enjoyed the HOP that required you to select flowers and foliage that reveals a fragment, and you had to choose two identical fragments hidden underneath. The only complaint I have is that the hidden object scenes are repeated. The Mini Games are available in Casual or Hard, my favorite one was guiding birds to the correct spot, however they could only fly in the path they were facing, so you have to use other birds to nudge them into the correct flight path. The Collectors Edition has re-playable HOP's and Mini Games, Photos, Movies, Music, Concept Art, Wallpapers, Screensavers, Collectible Pigeons, Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! Makes a nice SE... Hello friends! Just finished with the SE demo on this game and find it to be a much better SE than a CE. As I said in my review of the CE version: "Graphics are the same as all the others and are quite clear, with nice colors. Game play was very good, no problems during the demo. Voice overs are nice and appropriate for the character. I especially like the voice of the "fate," very well done. Music was nice and moved with whatever was happening in the scene at the time. I like traveling through portals to other locations, so you don't get bored backtracking to the same areas all the time. SG is the usual and is easy to follow if you need it. I use it only to make sure I found all of the collectibles. Jump map was very generic and needed actual pictures of the locations with the names to properly identify where you were going. HOPs are the usual interactive lists with nothing extra. Time to upgrade a bit on this one. They are clear and clean and items are not difficult to find. Puzzles are very simple. I do like the block puzzles, e.g., move the pieces to form a picture, but I'm also a big jigsaw puzzle person. Some of the others took a little time to complete, but are not difficult." I have all of the others in this series and like them all, but not all are CE versions either. The game flowed well, and I liked the story line. Demo was extremely short, but did draw me into the story. I still don't feel this game is CE worthy, but as I said, it does make a very nice SE. I believe this will appeal to all levels of players. I sometimes change my mind about a game when I demo the SE version, but rarely go back and purchase the CE instead. Yes, I am adding the SE version to my collection. As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may find this one to be exactly what you are looking for. It is a nice game and one I think most all players would like in one form or another. Thanks for the reviews. June 5, 2015
Demo too short Those of you who are too sensitive will freak at the final scene before the close of the Demo which came way too soon. I have not played the CE version, but a reviewer said this was too short a game...so maybe that is why they cut the demo short and of course to leave the cliff hanger ending for us to savor. Everything was fairly simple and straight forward. I think I ought to play the CE trial to get a handle on whether this game is worth getting the CE There is a magic wand that sorts out things that have some magical obstacle to be accessed. It is not difficult to remember to use it. I did not see any special things to find in the scenes. So this game seems to be lacking both bells and whistles that are usually found in games. One of the simple things as an example...we get to find water...and soon find a dry sponge...well of course I went and got it wet and shortly had to use it. It was so obvious that there was not the pleasure in figuring out that one gets in a more complicated game. One thing I did not like was that we played the same scene again in the Hidden Object...I do not like doing that. I did like having to find fleur de lis in order to open up the lists for the HO though. The lists seemed rather straight forward without any added bits to do that make some HOs so interesting. I also liked that there was an option to play puzzles in a hard or easy way and I liked that in custom we could change the speed of when the hint and skip recharged. I always put those to shortest to get more into the Demo. I have to admit I found the easy play too be a bit off putting but there are days when an easy adventure is fun. If I am not blown away by the CE, I will put this on my buy when I need to use up a free credit list. I'll also put it on my list to play with a friend whom I sometimes play with who is rather bad at these games. Being so easy, she will do better and we will have more fun then. rather than me running the show while she has no clue what to do. So with those stipulations, I will recommend this game. Of course you being the wondrous ball of individuality that you are, you will have your own take on it and I absolutely recommend trying it as it is certainly worth the time of the trial. Good, but short This game was very well done. But it was very short. It took me under 3 hours to complete. Makes me glad I didn't buy the CE. June 21, 2015
