Nightmares from the Deep: Davy Jones is the final chapter in the pirate trilogy Nightmares from the Deep, and tells the story of fearless museum custodian Sarah Black and her daughter, Cory.

After discovering mysterious notes confirming the truth of the Davy Jones legend, Sarah calls a press conference to reveal to the whole world that the old sea-devil and his mythical treasure are real, hidden away on a mysterious island.

Suddenly, the galleon of the infamous pirate appears on the horizon, and Davy Jones himself breaks into the museum to kidnap Sarah and her daughter.

Both Sarah and her daughter are thrown into the brig of Jones' ship. They manage to escape, and while searching for a way back to shore, they discover dark secrets about the ship's otherworldly origins. But before they can escape on one of the lifeboats, they are caught, and to save her mother, Cory agrees to a sign a dark pact with Davy Jones...

Nightmares from the Deep: Davy Jones Collector's Edition is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 74.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from CLASSIC PIRATE ADVENTURE REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME AND BONUS This is on the top 10 on my list of favourite games to play. I loved the story line and the tale of how Davy Jones came to be what is he is. There is: * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced and Expert modes of play; * Interactive map; * Diary; * 33 Achievements; * Find 10 Pirate Cards, 12 Seahorses and 24 puzzle pieces. The graphics are very colourful, a bit cluttered, but objects and items are easy to find. I would stop at every scene to have a good look around because you never know what you will find and have a play with. There is plenty to accomplish in every scene, so I took my time making sure to remember where tasks are to do. Sound is very good and the music is fast orchestral and piano. There is every imaginable HOP that you can think of in this game - interactive straightforward, silhouette, fragmented parts, find one item to use to find another, etc. These all had a very good challenge to them and I played them all. You can also play Mahjong if you fancy a change from HOPs. There are a huge variety of mini-games to play - ranging from fairly easy to hard. Some only take a couple of minutes, while others I spent some time on. The instructions on how to play them are clear and I played them all without any feeling any frustration or boredom. There are mini-games there for everyone - like making potions and getting machinery to work. I loved them all. Finding the 10 pirate cards, 12 seahorses and 24 puzzle pieces have a good challenge to them. I checked at the beginning of each scene to make sure I grabbed them before I moved on. The interactive map works well. I turned everything off at the beginning of the game playing on Expert, but I think in Casual and Advanced you can have the option of seeing where tasks are to do if you get a bit stuck. All up the game and bonus took me a good 12 hours (maybe more) to play. Its a huge exciting game, so it may pay to get comfortable. Overall, a fabulous game and so worth getting. Definitely well worth your hard earned money. Happy playing fishies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ye were warned! Ye meddled now meet the notorious pirate himself! Completed CE: As the Curator of a museum you get a surprise on the night of a huge exhibit. Davy Jones himself appears. After meddling twice in the affairs of the pirate he seeks you out. After your daughter Corey signs a pact with Davy Jones you end on his island home. There you must find a way to help your daughter fulfill her pact to set her free. But you find this isn't as easy as it appears. As you comb the island you come upon the ghost of a young girl. You find out who she is and her tie to the pacts Davy makes with others as you visit beautiful scenes, chat with other cursed characters and solve easy to medium-hard puzzles. As you get in engrossed in the captivating story the music sucks you in a well. So find your saber, pistol and pirate hat, matey, because ye be embarking on a wonderful adventure that is worth every penny ye spend on this game and the other two as well. I highly recommend all three games in this series. It is worth the CE for the bonus chapter to really add to the story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Game!!! Kudos Devs!! This game is by one of the best game developers, in my opinion of course! Their games are so life-like, voice-overs are wonderfully done, the small things are there like when you touch things on the screen they react playfully. The music is very fitting and they always have incredible story lines and this game is no exception. I have to say that I have loved every minute of this series. Each of them are so life-like in their graphics. I remember playing the first one and the golem on the chest was so real and at that time, it was a stand out because games weren't really like that however this dev set the bar high and still does. This game has a brilliant story line. In an era where we keep getting the same games over and over again and badly done at that, this game gives you something new. I really didn't see the series going in the direction this game did and I liked it a lot. I don't usually give out 5 star ratings so when I give them, it is GREAT game!! The hidden object scenes are interactive, puzzles are a good difficulty at least most of them were. None were so easy they insulted my intelligence level like some games but none were so tricky that I couldn't do them. A good mix where I didn't get bored and want to skip them. You can do mahjong if you don't like hidden object scenes. Only thing is, in some of the scenes, I couldn't find the last object and not wanting to use hints, I'd switch to mahjong. I expected the mahjong board to diminish as I got the objects but it doesn't so you will have to do the whole board even with 1 object to go. Also, if you are trying to get the achievements, after doing the mahjong 3 times for it, if you keep doing it, you will not get the achievements for playing hidden object games with no hint. I did this and I didn't get that achievement boo. That being said, there are a multitude of achievements, some rather interesting and others I have never seen before like interacting with the animals in the game. There are 3 different collectibles to find all within the main game. I was able to find all the puzzle pieces but the seahorses & pirate cards eluded me. And here I thought they would be easy to spot. HAHA This is a lengthy game as it took me 3-4 days to finish playing 2-3 hours at a time. I took my time though, did all the puzzles, watched all the cut scenes, immersed myself in the story line and listened to all the voices and made sure to try and get all achievements although I missed a few. oh well. The main game ends okay but you really do need the bonus chapter for the game to have the same charm. I usually hate when developers do that but for a great game like this, I won't downgrade it. The bonus chapter throws a bit of a twist in there but it was still fun to play which says a lot since I usually don't finish bonus games because I get bored. This one held my interest and wrapped up the questions I had about the main game. Had I bought the standard edition I would have had a lot of unanswered questions. I am pretty sure this series ended here as it wrapped up loose ends and had no cliffhanger ending. I enjoyed this series immensely and am glad it stopped before it started churning out junky games just to keep the series going. COUGHersCOUGH What I love most about this game are the pirates. They are a wild bunch, have the best accents and you get to interact with them. One you even get to play a board game with and it was a hoot! LOVED IT! They say such silly things if you keep clicking on them past the first time. Love all the attention to detail devs. Kudos! Please keep making more series as I just love your games!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny (or credit) I just finished the series and they were well worth all 6 credits used for the Collectors Editions! Full of a wide variety of HO and puzzles at every scene, all 3 Nightmares from the Deep will keep you on your toes and entertain at the same time. Whether you are a beginner or expert, fully focused or have a shortened attention span, you will not regret your discussion to play. From 'Cursed Heart' that gets you enthralled into Sarah Black and her daughter Cory's demise, 'Siren's Call' that brings the story of Davy Jones to life to finally 'Davy Jones' and his story of how he became, you will never be bored.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous! I've had this game for a while but wasn't in the mood for pirates and skeletons. Just got through it now. Oh, my. What a GREAT game. I think that this is probably the best game from Big Fish that I ever played. The story is engaging. The artwork is gorgeous. The music fits every scene perfectly. The characters are wonderful with the mild exception of the daughter...she's a little bit whiny. The tasks make sense. The game has a lovely flow to it that just keeps it moving pleasantly. Get this one if you haven't already. Totally worth every minute!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful ending to one of the best series I've played. This review is based on complete playthrough of the game and bonus content. My profile tells me I've reviewed 75 games now. This is the 3rd I'm giving straight 5's for (Fate's Carnival and Catch Me When You Can are the other two). This ties up everything from the first two games, with a solid story in a challenging game that doesn't forget to be fun. First off, the CE stuff (or "Why should I pay double for this game?"): The bonus chapter took me a solid hour playing mahjong over HOS. Unlike the last game, this time the ending isn't obvious (I expected something very different), and brings some new stuff to to story. You've got three types of collectibles again (and again, I failed to complete any set, but I got close on all of them). Not as many achievements, but the ones that you can get mean something for the most part (rather than just being a checklist of how far you got in the game). Then the typical 'swag' stuff: some wallpapers, soundtracks (all very similar, not as good as Siren's Song), and concept art. I only checked the SG once, but looking through it afterwards it seems very well done. Clear pictures along with enough description that you should find whatever help you need. Now for the game: THE GOOD: The game took me a solid six hours, playing mahjong for most of the HOS rather than doing the item finds (love that choice), on the highest difficulty: almost no sparkles (some puzzles), no map markers, click penalty (the main reason I did mahjong), but you still had hint and skip available, just slow charging. The map is a jump map, and on all but expert difficulty show where there are tasks to do. You can change difficulty level in game Not the fanciest maps in a game, but they get the job done. They fit the style of game pretty well. Cutscenes are beautiful - the only ding's I could give here would be one scene where an animal is too realistic, and one character that is more 'cartoony' than almost everyone else. Minor stuff. The voice overs were spot on and well delivered. The story though, is where this game shines. Why did Davy Jones REALLY go through the trouble of kidnapping you and your daughter? While the game never gives a 2nd answer, you might find one yourself before the game is over. Very well developed characters: taking from the previous two games and going even deeper. THE BAD: Almost nothing. The mahjong is about as easy as it was in Siren's Song (gets a bit harder in the bonus). The BC antagonist could have been fleshed out a bit more, but it was still done much better than most games. THE UGLY: The series is over. Wonderful ending though. I'm going to be keeping my eyes out for titles from these guys. BOTTOM LINE: Totally worth the CE price and label. Great game and conclusion to one of the best series I've played yet. It's a story I'm going to remember. My new favorite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All round good fun For me, the ultimate evidence that a game's been great is that, when it's over, I wonder what I'm going to do with my evenings now it's finished. 'Davy Jones' the third in the trilogy of Nightmares from the Deep is, with its companion games, in that category. I loved that it was so easy to navigate between locations, via the interactive map and no endless hunts for yet more keys to open doors to increasingly senseless, incomprehensible scenes, just great HOS, and puzzles that were just challenging enough without being frustratingly unsolvable. The storyline was great, a fantasy that could be believed in. I highly recommend this game and all three of the Nightmares of the Deep series.
