UNWELCOME AND SCARY This game is very frightful. Usually, developers promise scary, but seldom deliver. This game does - at least for the characters in it. Awful things keep happening. Everything seems to have stopped in purgatory for 10 years and looks like it. (Takes place in the 60s, and graphics depict the era and the neglect of the locations.) Very interactive HOS and puzzles are engaging and fun. Lots of things happen in this adventure. More interesting puzzles and mini-games than HOS, but the ratio is correct. Hint system is very helpful, though you can figure out the navigation pretty good without it. Let the fun begin at the unwelcome hotel. July 27, 2014
Great Game I am truly enjoying this game. It is fun right from the start, has great graphics and is smooth to follow. You know where you are going and have fun getting there. It is well done. I am still playing it, so this is all I can say for now...it is sort of like MCF, where you enjoy it right from the start...Hope they make a series out of this game. July 28, 2014
good game certainly different from the usual fare, i really en joyed it July 27, 2014
Love these type of games More fun than typical hidden object games. Easy, relaxing and interesting to play. Just enough game difficulty to make it fun to play. It seemed short to me because it was fun to play. The storyline was interesting with many characters and easy to follow. The ending was good and I enjoyed following the storyline. This is the type of game that I enjoy the most. July 30, 2014
Great Game It is very different from others and I enjoyed that twist. Has some creepy moments , overall a great storyline . Loved also the fact that there are real actors , gives you that feeling for being in a 1950 movie . I just say try it , it's worth it. July 28, 2014
Wonderful, unusual HOS Game storylines don't often suck you in, but this one did exactly that. Not only was the story unpredictable, but I loved the Wizard of Oz imagery and the scary-yet-retro surroundings. Some of the scenes were pretty intense, and I was actually spooked by some of the events (old lady, anyone?) The puzzles were fascinating, and I loved the HOS. They were done in a way that reminded me of the virtual pop-up books in the old Drawn series, and I was honestly fascinated. Plus, the ending was ironic in a twilight zone-ish way. I loved this game, and that's from a play who's pretty sick of the tired HOS that keep coming at us. August 2, 2014
Fun, creepy game! Played this game with my three children (youngest is 5 years old) and it was just the right amount of skills and chills. What I loved most was how the Hidden Object scenes were all interactive to solve too; puzzles into themselves and not just lists with things to find. We played it through twice and the kids enjoyed it even more the second time anticipating what was to come. It can be creepy for kids who are younger or easily scared, though. A great game that is just the right length! August 9, 2014
Wow, loved this game. I didn't stop until I finished it. It was that good. Very original play. Great graphics. I have to admit the story was a little disturbing and it was scary. The puzzles to me weren't real clear but I usually skip them in my games anyway so no big deal. I played the easy level so can't speak for other difficulty. Bottom line, it was great fun and hope these developers give us more like it. July 27, 2014
Fright Wow! I have not played a game this good in a long time! I didn't want it to end. The game was never boring, it pulled me to play and play. I wish I could find more games of this quality. August 12, 2014
A Terrific Game but Not My Cup of Tea! Oh my, Fright certainly lives up to its name in the first cutscenes that we see in the game. You are being chased through a cornfield and come across a young girl on a swing, who dissolves into nothingness as you approach, and then a very frightening scarecrow. Finally you emerge at a house inhabited by our earlier spectre. Was it all a dream after all or was it a premonition of things to come? Overall the graphics are very good. There are also live actors in the game that gives it that additional touch of realism. Unlike some games with live actors, the ones in Fright are very good and add to the game?s quality. The game has excellent graphics and very realistic voiceovers, some of them very good. The issue for me with the graphics is that this is a game set in a dirty, run down motel. I prefer games with gorgeous, colorful graphics rather than those with filthy scenery and lots of brown. You have a diary that as well as an interactive transporter map that is a bit different than those we normally see in HOPA games. There are various types of interactive HOPs, some are the standard list type and others are silhouette type. The HOPs are interesting to say the least and are one of the best parts of the gameplay for me. There are not too many puzzles in the early part of the game but the ones I encountered are interesting and require some thought. I know that Fright is a game that will appeal to those of you who dislike all of the fantasy type games and I guess it is what some of you may refer to as a ?gritty? game. As for me, although I purchased the CE I never finished the game. Even though Fright was really not for me, it is an excellent game for those of you who like this type of storyline and setting. That being said, and in deference to those of you who love this type of game and to be objective; I will give it a high rating. As always, I recommend that you at least try the demo to see if this is a game you will like. July 27, 2014
