Crime Solitaire 2: The Smoking Gun is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Three game modes ensure longevity So, the game is higher/lower solitaire. BUT the twist is that there are three modes of playing. There's the story, which is the best way to start - can't remember if you actually have to complete this to open the others? Then there's challenge, where you have to meet certain criteria to win (making certain chains, reaching a specific amount of points etc.). And finally there's Five peaks, which is basically just playing one game at a time, trying to beat your record regarding time and points. So, whether you are in the mood for a story, playing several games in a row or just "a quicky", any fan of this solitaire variety ought to be satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lighthearted and Relaxing Solitaire Game Finally! I found a solitaire game with an actual story line. The fact that the story is a parody of old detective comic books, makes the game even better. Humor abounds as you try to figure out who-dun-it. Solitaire playing is easy unless you choose "Tricky" mode, which is a bit more of a challenge. There is no timer of any kind. I especially liked that I was able to purchase helpful power-ups early in the game. If you're unable to reach 3 Gold Star status, you can buy additonal help and replay the hand. Music is reminiscent of 1940's detective movies and so are the phrases that were used back in that time period. Voices are comical and of course exaggerated. Our leading man, Detective Max Stone, has a sexy and charming voice -- even when he's acting ditzy. There are no cut scenes, no extravagant graphics, no palettes of pinks and purples, and there is no little animal helper. Crime Solitaire 2 is simply a fun, relaxing little game that I'm so glad I stumbled upon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So funny, a lot of fun! I love the humor in this game between the detective and you the player as well as the Detective and the suspect and witnesses. I really thought the sound effects, the music were cool as heck. A lot of fun! Lots to do, achievements to earn, places to go. I love the customization as well on the cards and that you level up to unlock more card options, like changing the colors of the cards on screen and changing the graphics too. One of the best Solitaire games on Bigfish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comedy solitaire absolutely super !! I am not one to care for a storyline but this one is so funny you want to hurry to get to each level to find out what happens next. Loved this game and my hat is off to the developers. Someone really has a great sense of humor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic fun, Loved this one! This is one of the best solitaires around in the class like crime solitaire one and Lapland solitaire... fantastic fun. I love the detective's voice... replaying it from beginning just to listen to the quirky lovable guy. Loved the ending too. Love the ability to buy cards that I need. Loved the sound effects. Great little game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent. Finally, Good writing and a cool story. I laughed all the way through this. The voice acting was great, the metaphors were straight out of a 1930's crime novel with a witty twist. I knew who did it - after all, I've read enough Phillip Marlow - but it was a fun ride. The shop interface was a little clumsy for me but I rate this 5 stars. I wish this amount of thought were put into all games. Proof that it isn't graphics alone that makes a good game - you have to have a coherent and fun story and involved characters, even if they aren't based in reality. I gave it 5 stars for visual/sound quality even though it was cartoony, because I loved the voice acting. The milliner cracked me up. .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money Well Spent This was good fun. Obviously you would need to be a fan of Solitaire type games to get the most out of it. I notice some reviewers compare it unfavorably with "Fairway" .... but I've got them both, and I think Crime Solitaire stacks up OK against it. I just liked the humor ... and the game is winnable if you buy the "ammunition."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Yet !! I bought the first Crime Story Solitaire which is a good game. When I saw this one the other day I read the reviews, skipped the trial and bought it because the reviewers are doing a great job of selling it and now I want to do so too. I have had No tec issues at all; my only problem was trying to figure out how to get the face down cards (forensics at Police station) to flip. I decided to try the forum and am so glad I did! Within 24 hours I had the answer I needed from another player and it's been smooth sailing since. ( I highly recommend using the forum before giving up in frustration on Any game.) This game is the very best Solitaire version I've ever played; I love Heroes of Solitairia , but this one really captures such a sense of Fun! The dialogue is really good. The voices are perfect for the characters, well done and just plain funny.. Lots of silly puns and attitude that fit the 30s decade well. Even when you think a line is cheesy, it's still funny and keeps everything lively with well thought out dialogue. Congrats Devs, This one is a Hit! Keep this going, I'd love to see another chapter in this series. The game flows nicely with all kinds of added elements such as clues, things to buy to help your game, Tons of places to investigate, people to find, and one of the better aspects is you don't have to run back to Police headquarters after every hand. Much MUCH more fun than the first Crime Solitaire. 5 stars all the way!
