What A Complicated Game! I never look at the information given for each game because I want the element of surprise, and wow this game was unexpected, complicated, difficult and I love it! I have no idea what category this game fit's in, it's a tower defense, match 3, time management, quest driven, battle game. The Gatherers have come to Earth and began mining peacefully until that dreadful day they used an unknown power source to tear the earth into fragments. The Quests or tasks are given by Terony, a powerful sorceress who must be protected at all costs to allow her to attach the floating fragments of Earth back together and close enemy portals to keep the Gatherers from entering our world in groves. You will hatch a baby dragon in the tutorial level that only follows your commands and he does most of the work dragging fragments to the main hub and battling the enemy. Every floating fragment you choose to attach will cost money, and there are bridges to repair and paths to clear which all require money, similar to a time management game. In order to make money to complete the quests you must battle the monsters in a tower defense game. The dragon can kill the monsters but can only move to the spaces available with the claw platform, you can move him back and forth as often as you want but he isn't all that fast moving. As your dragon progresses, he levels up with new skills that can be applied by visiting the skills section. The skills section allows you to buy skills of all kinds, for weapons as well as the dragon (other dragons are eventually available too) Naturally you will be able to place weapons on available platforms as well starting with Turrets that are upgradeable for more money when you click on an existing Turret. As with most TD games there are available tools to use on the enemy such as fireballs and poison apples and reagents to use to restore your health or make the dragon move faster, these will have to be replaced once all available are used by visiting the store. Instead of defending the tower, you are defending the sorceress who is trying to cast a spell. If you click on the crossed swords to start the next wave of incoming monsters early, you will receive more points and you can click on floating rock debris anytime to have the dragon destroy them for extra money. You will choose the mode of difficulty before every battle, casual gives you the least amount of coins and 1 star, average a tad bit more coins and 2 stars and expert gives you 3 stars and the maximum amount of coins. I suggest you start with casual because if you need more money to complete a quest you can replay any level in the other two modes at anytime! Most of the monsters are spiders, starting with itsy bitsy spiders and eventually becoming massive in size, but new monsters are added after every battle, lizard dinosaurs and even flying pterodactyls! There are achievements to earn as well. When you finish a battle you will need to replenish those reagents you used, or add more for the upcoming battle. The reagents are the potions that restore your health or give the dragon a shot of espresso for courage and speed! This is done by visiting the Laboratory and playing a match 3 game! There is a one page tutorial that explains the bonuses given and how they effect the tiles on the board, otherwise this game is the least complicated out of everything. The goal is simple, make matches of at least three identical tiles by clicking and dragging a tile or gem to create a line horizontal or vertical, larger matches earn the bonuses on the board automatically. You want to make matches with the tiles that have the bottles of reagent on them to collect for use. From what I can tell this match 3 game can be played as many times as you want to collect more reagent potions, but there could be a limit. I told you it was complicated! I just scratched the surface of this game in my review. If you fear change, don't even attempt this game, if you fear spiders, steer clear there are a ton of creepy spiders, if you don't like games that are complicated and require time and patience to learn, again pass this one by. If you want a challenging game with many facets and hours of fantastic battling, pull up a computer chair, make yourself comfortable and prepare for a long but entertaining day at the computer, enjoy! BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT I love TM games, but this little gem is extraordinary. You have a dragon who is to defend your wizard from marching denizens. You are allowed 20 lives before you are defeated. You can build and improve turrets, use bonus powerups, purchase ammo, fire scrolls and other things - or create them in the laboratory using a terrific little match 3 game which has its own bits and pieces of interest. There are plenty of things to do, and by destroying floating rocks on the main screen you can boost your finances, It is definitely not easy!! There are very few games created which are anywhere near as good as this one. I am thoroughly enjoying it, even though I am defeated more often than not. WELL DONE. October 29, 2014
Very addicting game Hi Big fish gamer's, I don't usually leave review, but this game is great, I am not a big fan of tower defense games but this one beats them all. It has tower defense which your dragon helps to kill the enemy, they are so cute, as you progress you get more things to help fight of monsters, etc. There is a match 3 game which helps you get money and spells to help you keep fighting, and strategy, the graphics are good and the story line is good, helpful hints, what more can I say, give this game a try and I bet you will like it. Unique & Creative tower defence game Was pleasantly surprised by this game. I can confidently say that for me it is finding the last six months. All rarely found really interesting original games. Easy start, thoughtful interaction with game elements and the gradual complication of the storyline (about 46 if calculate the additional and difficulty batles ). Some I didn't win..But those that finished enjoyed. With relish I would have played in the risen dragons 2,with more varied gameplay;) Despite the detail, and the fact that I don't like 3-match game, rate at five points. And why such the horrible screenshots game? October 30, 2014
What a fantastic game I really like tower games and this is quite a challenging game with a story line. It has match 3 games in too and tasks to do. Really enjoyed it so have got it! October 22, 2014
Madning but fun I tried it, I liked it, I bought it. My dragon is almost a level 21. Yet there are monsters that it just don't seem to even scratch let alone kill. I have been trying to run each dragon through each port to get them stronger. This is a great game. I am glad it is taking me days rather than hours to get through it. I hate buying a game and playing it through in a matter of hours. This is a A+, 5 star, entertaining game. October 26, 2014
Super Fun and Different if you're looking for a fun tower defense + a match 3 experience try this game. i had a lot of fun with the demo and will definitely be picking this one up today! it's different and cute and engaging in the game play. the story is just kind of there to move things along but i thought overall this game is definitely worth a buy. -3 levels of challenge -lots of upgrades -some town building type features -cute dragons -match 3 mini game to play for resources -tasks list to help you know what to do next and move the game along October 27, 2014
Refreshing Tower defence game After having played all the defense games, I got bored and to a certain extend 'hate' it. But now, along came Risen Dragons, to rekindle my interest. It is different and entertaining and may be educational. I The only draw back is the small text and tutorial. It takes a little bit of learning by error to fully understand and get maximum benefit from it. Nonetheless, I enjoy the game. October 22, 2014
Strangest Tower Game ever This is a really odd one that takes a lot of figuring out but is worth it. Includes battles and match 3 plus a lot more. I think it is a love or hate. I love it. October 24, 2014
Fun Game I love this game. Very kewl. Every once in a while it is nice to not have to play HOG's. I am starting to get tired of seeing all Adventure Hog games. Although I have to keep buying them for my hubby as he likes them. For me I am bored with them already. Same ole story lines, same ole hogs. Nothing much changes from developer to developer. I am glad Big Fish are bringing out more Time Management and Strategy type games like this one. October 24, 2014
