I Liked The Puzzles I really enjoyed this game, as I love puzzles. Some other games I have tried recently have made the puzzles way too easy, but these were not too bad. I read another reviewer that commented they wished they made a game that was just straight puzzles and mini-games, and I totally agree. I really don't care about the story line. If I want a good story, I will read a book. With all the games out there, you can't create too many original and exciting stories, and can only go so far with missing children, abducted relatives, etc., so I enjoy when devs make a game with a spin on famous people or true events of the past. The graphics and artwork were also great. Not a fan of some games that seem to have got a bargain deal on the colour blue!! The colors are nice and bright, and very clear. Overall loved this game, and will try all the other Grim Faade games also. December 17, 2014
ONE OF THE BEST GAMES of 2014 !!! BASED ON COMPLETED GAME and BONUS CHAPTER..... WONDERFUL GAME!!!! I played the Collector's Edition, and this is one of the best games I've ever played, and I've played a lot of them! I found it plenty challenging, as I opted for no black bar hints. It was perfect in every way....fun to play, great graphics, good hidden object scenes, MANY locations to explore, a custom setting for difficulty, and words large enough to read without straining the eyes. Also, it is one of the longest games I've played, worth every dollar !!! Thank you so much ERS and Big Fish Games!!! October 17, 2014
Adventure in Esteemed Company I love Leonardo da Vinci's whimsical works and beautiful art. this game makes you think, is beautifully crafted my ERS games and follows the trend set by its makers in earlier Grim Faade games. Love it. October 17, 2014
One of the best ever This game is just perfect: you have to think and to remember. Lightly challenging and very pleasant. November 13, 2014
Nice, Challenging Game! This game actually has some challenging puzzles. I'll admit I had to skip one, which I almost never do. Worked on it for at least an hour and finally gave up. That means this game gets 5 stars from me because the challenge is most important. Lots of things to do in this game and it has good length. Hats off to ERS! Now, on to the next Grim Facade. I'm going to play them all. July 10, 2015
How da Vinci Almost Wasn't A man claiming to be a Mage has taken control of the government, and has demanded the surrender of all works of arts and science! This self proclaimed Mage has managed to turn the citizens of Florence Italy against their ruler by using simple parlor tricks and staged predictions to frighten and confuse all but a handful of rebels who won't tolerate the censorship this "messiah" is trying to enforce! Leonardo has entrusted you, detective to expose this messiah for the con artist he really is and save da Vinci's masterpieces for centuries to come! Because da Vinci's works of art are mechanical inventions you will have lot's of gadgets, complicated locks and secret passageways to tinker with throughout the game. You will receive a mechanical pigeon that helps you with out of the reach items but early in the game he flies the coop and disappears only to be replaced with a mechanical sheep that can eat his way through the toughest vegetation, and you get to name him so I'm assuming he will stick around a litter longer than the pigeon. The hint system requires you to find fans, mostly in the HOS, each fan you find will give you another available hint but you can use the hint for direction without using an available hint. The Hidden Object Scenes were just okay, with very little WOW factor in my opinion. They are interactive progressive silhouette finds with small puzzles to solve, by finding clues within the scene. Some of the HOS are repeated which is a feature I really despise. The mini games are good but some are very frustrating such as turning 3 nuts with arrows on a large bolt to complete a picture of da Vinci's flying machine. The Collectors Edition has wallpapers, screensavers, concept art, movies, achievements, replayable mini games and HOS, collectible items to place in a pop up book called Leonardo's Tales, a built in Strategy guide and a Bonus chapter, enjoy! Great value for a standard game This game in its standard form gives a lot more than many. It takes quite awhile to work through the 3 levels. While there's quite a bit of doubling back or jumping from one level to another, that's what increases the interest more than most standard form games. There were several innovations which I appreciated. Won't spoil them but a couple of the hidden object scenarios took me a minute to figure what was wanted. I thought they made good use of the Leonardo Da Vinci history and the story was not as insulting as many. Excellent voice cast and I didn't see them listed in the credits for the game I played. Probably only in the CE. Rats! Good value like this makes me want more ERS games, which I already love for their PuppetShow franchise. (Please note the last PuppetShow was a disappointing departure. Hope that's one, not a trend.) Great use of your monthly game credit. October 30, 2014
i have enjoyed some games more, i may have enjoyed some games more, but this is a good game never the less. a great hint system and an interactive map. a "custom" level. you are trying to catch a "mage" using trickery to amaze florence and burn all the priceless sculptures and paintings. you are back in leonardo de vinci's time. you are trying to prove the mage is a trickster. Where is the Italian accent? ERS did a great job on this one. It has good graphics, story and music. Having put so much thought into this game, I wonder why they didn't go the mile and put Italian vo's. When I first started the game, that's what I expected. Oh, well. October 17, 2014
Leonardo da Vinci just never gets off the ground..... I played the demo for about 45 minutes. I was so bored with the story and the laborious way it unfolded, I just gave up. Graphics are great, but I need more than eye candy. There is a great deal of talking in this game, and it interrupted the flow of the story to the point I got annoyed with it. You are a detective who has been contacted for help by Leonardo da Vinci. There is a wicked mage in town who is using stage tricks/mirrors to make the towns folk think he is truly magical. He has taken over power and is now trying to take over Italy. The mage has turned Leonardo da Vinci into public enemy #1 and stolen many of Leonardo's sketches, including some for military machines. The mage wants to destroy all art and free thinking. Even da Vinci's own assistant has joined in the fight against him. The story has some possibilities but it moved awkwardly and felt disjointed. On to Puzzles - NOW the puzzles I played DID have an option to play in casual OR hard mode. YEAH!! Maybe someone finally read one of my past complaints! I was thinking YES!, harder puzzles for expert players...but... they still were not complex even in hard mode, sighs. The game does give facts/real information about da Vinci's works and achievements throughout the game. Keep an eye out for coins to collect. Sorry to say, this game is a no go for me. I found it boring and did not like it. October 19, 2014
