The Queen Is Breaking Hearts Taleworld hasn't been the same since Alice went to the big city with dreams of becoming the CEO of a large corporation. The Queen of Hearts was a kind and generous ruler, she loved her subjects so much that the Queen of Hearts became the motto and her loyal army proudly displayed a heart upon their armor. Lately all that has changed, the Queen locked the castle gates allowing only her new advisor to enter the castle. The Queen now rules with an iron fist and has sentenced Pierre to be executed for speaking out against the Queen's injustice! Belle has gathered several of the brave townspeople to rebel against the Queen, and are patiently waiting for Gears to deliver their dire message to Alice. Can Alice return to Taleworld in time to save Pierre? This is a fairly easy game to play with several areas of interest in each scene. Gears has returned to help Alice reunite with her parents, anytime you need assistance with objects too high or out of reach, Gears is your right hand man! Some of the inventory items need further interaction before using like combining that item with another item or using a code to open. Some of those items even have a small mini game to solve. The Hidden Object Scenes are interactive, some list finds and some silhouetted shape finds. You may have to find flowers to open up the list or pick the correct books to make bookshelves recede to expose a stained glass HOP. My favorite HOP was finding gears that matched their silhouette shape in a scene filled with hundreds of gears, then you used those gears in a mini game where you choose the correct gear to go in the correct spot so that all the gears would turn. The mini games weren't complicated but really fun such as swapping stone tiles to complete a pattern or choosing several patterns that when combined, matched the sample shown. The Collectors Edition has Concept Art, unlockable Wallpaper, Soundtracks, HOS, Smoke and Mirrors puzzles, Red Heart Casino games, Collectibles, Morphing Objects, a Bonus Chapter, and a built in Strategy Guide, enjoy! Alice I have been with Big fish for a few years now and I can say that this is one of the best games that they have had. The story line is great, keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. For not being the Collector edition it sure was longer then most. The puzzles do make you think, but are not too hard to solve. This is not your normal seek and find type of play. Everything about this game is top notch. This is a must have game. December 13, 2014
THROUGH THE MIRROR PORTALS Review of completed Collectors Edition Game. In this story, Alice is all grown up and working. However, mayhem has broken out in Taleworld and its up to Alice to find her parents and beat the baddies. There is so much to do in this game and I played for many hours. There is: * Voiceovers; * Look, Gaze, Stare and Custom modes of play; and * Interactive map. The graphics throughout the entire game were brilliant - very colourful and bright and easy to see and find everything. Sound and music were fantastic. Mad Head are well known for their gorgeous graphics and music. The hidden object games are fairly easy to play and I enjoyed them all. The mini-games are fun to do and range from being easy to medium. I did get stuck on one mini-game - the braille game. For some reason I just couldn't get the gist of this and I had to look it up in the Strategy Guide. I loved going through the mirror portals between Taleworld and the real world - its sort of like time travel. So, do you get the Collectors Edition or the single edition. With the Collectors Edition you get the extras of: ~ Game, Bonus, Treasure Hunt and Casino; ~ Three achievement boards; ~ Collect 45 cards throughout Game and Bonus; ~ Find 16 morphs in hidden object games. The treasure hunt is finding an item in each scene. When this has been done then you can go to the Casino. There are four different games to play which are such a lot fun: ~ Slot machine; ~ Putting the boxes back in place with the forklift; ~ Endless flyer - get Gears to the top; and ~ Shooting range. I had a blast playing these games - every fishy will enjoy these. Personally I found the Collectors Edition to be worth its weight in gold. But its up to you to choose. Have fun playing. What a Fantastic Game! Wow! I'd be hard pressed to find anything about this game that I thought could be better! First, You can choose your level of difficulty - including choosing for yourself how long the hint/skip takes to re-charge. I love any game that gives that as an option. It helps personalize the game. There is a great deal of story-telling in this game. It will take quite a bit of time to play. It took me about 3 hours. Although there is a lot, it's also interactive in many places, so you can't just skip through it & pretend you know what happens next. The graphics are just amazing! I was thoroughly impressed with them all the way through. As you travel through the mirrors, you get a sense of a 3 dimensional shift [Just like you're supposed to]. There's an interactive map, which is very useful. There's not a whole lot of jumping, but it does help, especially when you're jumping between worlds. The hint will also direct you if you don't know what to do next. I did get lost one time, & after a frustrating couple of minutes, I was able to work myself out of the screen. I just didn't pay attention to one little detail - that made the difference. The voice-overs are excellent. They are clear & understandable. The music seemed to fit the game all the way though, although there was a time or two that it got a bit redundant. There are various HO scenes, none of which you visit more than once. Each of these scenes will give you an item for your inventory. The mini-games are varied, although many of them are along the same line. As I say, you can set the skip time on all of these for as long or as little time as you'd like. There are also a couple of points in the game when you have to decide the fate of the story. "Do I choose this, or this?" I'm not sure how it changes it, but it's fun to think you have a bit of decision making to do. You have a little companion along the way; although I really don't know why... Most of the time he sits at the bottom of the screen asleep. I did think that part was a bit silly. The re-play value of this game is high. I'd think one would be able to play this game several times before getting to know it too well. There's nothing like feeling like a hero at the end of a game, & this one will certainly leave you feeling like that. I would absolutely recommend this game! It's got everything you want in an HO/Adventure game: great graphics, characters, places & lots to do. So be sure & add this one to your collection! December 10, 2014
beautiful! As always with Nevertales, the visuals are stunning, the music is haunting and the story interesting. The story takes us back to the setting in Nevertales Beauty within, and we meet old friends, especially the little mechanical owl Gears, which we must fix right away. Those who have played Nevertales BW will also love this new game. December 8, 2014
Very different as a HOG game I played the trial for about 15 minutes last night & knew I wanted to buy it. The HOGs are different plus there is more things for you to do that just makes it more interesting and different to the other HOG games. Yes I just bought it and look forward to continue playing. So...I might have a new favorite game. LOVED IT!! What an AMAZING conclusion to the Nevertales series!! Now I wish I'd gotten the CE; I would've loved to see the extra content. I've followed the Nevertales series since the beginning, and I think this is a perfect way to wrap up (? I assume) the series, with little Alice all grown up and ready to kick some butt in her very own story. I had a BLAST all the way through--I think it may be the first game EVER where I didn't skip a single puzzle. I also didn't need to rely on hints; the game had incredible flow. To those who said that the story didn't make a lot of sense or felt disjointed--this is definitely NOT meant to be played as a stand-alone game, and I don't think the developers should apologize for that. Go and play the previous games if you feel lost! My eyes weren't dry at the finish line, because I've followed the series all the way through (and know how much and what these poor people have already been through)! I think they're about due for a good old family vacation...hopefully with no dark events following them this time! (But maybe Alice should get used to carrying a mirror in her purse. Just in case.) Second half of the game more interesting! I actually bought the game by accident because I didn't really like the casino part when I was tried the trail. However, the second half part of the game went way beyond my expectation, which was very rare these days since I could usually guess the rest of the storyline when played halfway through most games. I was not familiar with the Nevertales series when I played this game and the plot twist at the end really gave me an excitement. The best mini game also occurred at the end which intensified the atmosphere. I haven't seen any card game played this way and was really refreshing and quite challenging to me. In my options, Smoke and Mirrors as well as the Legends are the best of the Nevertales series. November 22, 2015
Wow I love how the game introduces a new type of hidden object game instead of usual find this and that, there's a twist. It doesn't lag compared to other games that I've downloaded. I hope they keep making more of these :) March 24, 2015
a really enjoyable game!!! watch queen of hearts!!! custom level. your mother sent you a message that she needs your help. you go where she asks and you find the queen of hearts, who used to be a good queen, who now has a card army attacking the people. you travel back and forth through the present and "taleworld". you have a companion "gears", that helps you out during the game. there were a few times i had to cheat. i just couldn't wrap my mind around what i was suppose to do. i really enjoyed this game!!! sequel...i feel sure.......
