Sea of Lies: Burning Coast This game has amazing visualization speeds. Very smooth. Graphics are stunning. Great for family Fun, and great times. great! March 25, 2015
Is This Plague A Punishment? I must admit that I was a tad bit disappointed with this latest Sea of Lies. The graphics are basically bland hues of yellow with very little detail, the storyline has been rehashed, and it lacks that heart pumping excitement that the other Sea of Lies have, in fact I don't think any of the sequels can hold a candle to the original one. If it wasn't for the entertaining Mini Games, I would have only given this game three stars. The "Chemist Plague" has arrived on the shores of Port Talbot and a mandatory evacuation has been ordered for all citizens. Nurse Bridget Tramell has been assisting the local doctor as they feverishly try to find a cure to stop this mysterious disease, some believe it's a punishment for not allowing a ship carrying the same disease 20 years prior, to disembark! The Collectors Edition has 44 Collectible Ships in a Globe, hidden throughout the game, with plenty of Achievements to earn for the usual tasks of not skipping a puzzle or using the map to quickly transport to another location, but unless you simply must have collectibles, this edition is a better value. Some of the inventory items you find have Plus Signs which indicate that further action is required before using that items such as combining that item with another inventory item or repairing the item. The Hidden Object Scenes are lengthy and have an unusual style associated with all of the Sea of Lies games, where you start out searching for interactive list finds, followed by silhouetted shapes (usually in multiples of three such as 3 fish, 3 ships, 3 bobbers) and the final item is in the form of a description. Many of the HOP's actually moves slightly to another section as the camera pans to the right or left and sometimes up or down. There is a Match 3 game available instead of the HOP (CE) just in case you're not into the hidden objects. I did enjoy the Mini Games, some of them were actually new, or variations of classics. The game I enjoyed the most (and was the most challenging) was dropping 5 coins from the top of a board, in a specific order so that all of the latches would be lowered. Some latches would affect other latches to either raise or lower, and the game resets after all 5 coins have been released. The Collectors Edition has replayable HOP's and Mini Games, Achievements, 44 Collectible Ships, Souvenirs, the Making of, Pictures, Movies, Music, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Game, enjoy! Enjoying the game, would purchase! The game offers a very good play. I downloaded to give it a whirl and would purchase but I am stuck trying to get into the office. After securing all the parts for the harpoon and shooting to acquire the ladder alas I can not climb. The Hint supports my thoughts that I need to do just that -- will spend some time that I have remaining to slug around but I do think there might be a boo boo with the game. I still intend to purchase the game if problem is resolved. February 27, 2015
Maybe not Their Best Effort, but Okay This is posted after playing to entire game. I must say, I was a bit disappointed in this latest effort from Eipix. I tried out the demo and was left wanting, but thought it would get better as it went along. Unfortunate, it didn't. I'm not saying this is the worse game I have ever played. Not by a long shot, but I have come to expect so much from these folks, that perhaps my expectations were a bit too high. It was okay in the fun department. I did get a bit bored and were it not for the interactive map, I would have never finished this game. It just lacked something that I have grown to expect from them. As with most of their games, the graphics were very good and the sound excellent. Voice overs were well done and although they still have those silly dialog boxes, they were exceptional. The hidden objects were many and varied. Some were darn right hard to find. Well done on those. Now, the mini games, the majority of them I couldn't figure out what to do. The instructions were vague for me and I ended up skipping the majority of them. That is not unusual for me, but these were way out of my league. You have the map I spoke of, and the hint. Both the hint and the skip recharge very quickly, which is a big plus in my book. There is no journal, but I didn't seem to miss it at all. There is a lot of back and forth and back and forth, so the map was a life savor. If you are one of those who love difficult puzzles, you're going to love this one. Now the story. It had its moments and I was drawn in from the beginning, but it seemed like they had to stretch it out to fill the space or something. I didn't get lost in the story so the continuity was there, but it lacked the excitement I usually get. The bad guy gets his in the end, of course, and the day is saved, but it seemed like it took a couple trips around the barn to do it. All in all, I'm not sorry I bought it. It was a wonderful way to spend a few hours of mindless enterprise. Play the demo and see what you think. I don't want to leave you with the impression it was a lousy game, because it isn't. It's a very good game. March 2, 2015
very good I had no problem with the visuals. They were fine to me. Some of the games were not that intuitive as they should be. eg. what eats what in the sea. There were two of those that I encountered. The length was average. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase the game. 2014 March 19, 2015
sea of lies:burning coast My overall opinion Good+. I have never been disappointed with the creators "Eipix". The story is plausible and keeps you interested. February 28, 2015
Cure the Plague Great game -- hidden objects interactive. The mini-puzzles are very good. EIPIX graphics are some of the best. March 25, 2015
Unsure About This One After finishing the demo (in 58 minutes), everything in this game seems to be up to the usual EIPIX quality -- exceptional graphic art, voiceovers that don't make you cringe, and music that can be turned up or down. I didn't notice the music, so I guess it was okay. THE GOOD: *Locking inventory bar *Custom difficulty settings *Ability to reduce wait time for hint and skip buttons to 10 seconds *There is a click penalty in the HOGs but it can be adjusted for difficulty or turned off completely. *There is a transporting map. I didn't find a journal. *HOGs are list, silhouette and progressive, and objects are easy to find *A match 3 game may be played in lieu of HOGs THE NOT-SO-GOOD: The story didn't immediately grab me and draw me in, but I can't exactly say why. I'll put it in my maybe list and wait to read some other reviews of the full game before I make up my mind about whether to purchase or not. February 28, 2015
Awful This is what happens when developers just go bananas in effects and ideas without a koherent plan. Don't buy it. March 27, 2015
