Always looking for a challenge When I started to play this game, memories started to come back to me from when I used to play Mario brothers. I found this game quite interesting and attention needed. You have to pay close attention to where and what you are doing. The characters are a hoot to play with and funny to watch. If you ever played Jill of the jungle, dungeon and dragons, then you would know what I am talking about , having to pay attention and look ahead at where you are going or what your next move is going to be, I found this game quite fun to play and if you make a mistake, you die and have to start from the very beginning, ,so what learn from your rmistakes, and try not to do them again. You don't rush through the game just take your time and enjoy. I sure did, and hopefully there will be a continuation of this game. I give this game a five out of five. I would recommend this game. Even a two year old could play this. It's not that hard of a game to play. December 19, 2015
Repetitive Game That Quickly Grows Old I had no problems with the navigation controls using a magic mouse so I cannot elaborate on the problems other reviewers had. To move the characters through the maze, you have to Right Click, and Left Click when you want the character to pick up something or use their individual skill set. The first level is a mandatory tutorial, but it walks you step by step, and shows you what skill set the characters have that will allow all of them to escape the maze. The problem is, you have to guide each character one at a time through the level, and if one character dies, you have to start all over, so if 3 characters have made it through and the fourth one dies, you have to go back to the beginning and start with the first character again. Each character has a particular skill set that the others do not, you will have to choose which characters to start with so that they all make it through the level. The Mouse (you can choose either the male or female mouse at the beginning) is the only character that can operate the levers that open doorways. Louis the Rooster has a shield that allows him to protect everyone from flying projectiles, but once he leaves, the projectiles can harm the others. Eurofant the Elephant can blow obstacles away with his powerful trunk, and Bockli the goat can jump over pits and traps, then he can activate some traps to be filled in when he finds a Swiss Army knife. You will have to first move the character into position, then click on the character and the task at hand to activate their skills. The graphics are awesome, but the game has complicated navigations and repetitive tasks which makes the game not so fun. December 15, 2015
Confusing but has potential This is a cute idea for kids, but it would be too frustrating for them probably due to the fact you have to start from the very beginning if you mess up. You can bypass the introductions which helps somewhat. I've found by continuous right clicking you can get the character to run, but I had problems figuring out how to make the goat jump, something that should be pretty basic in any kid's game. I have a simple mouse so moving the characters forward and backward wasn't too hard for me, just used right mouse button to move them, left mouse button to select. You do have to use your sound to listen for when you are picking up the bricks and when they are in place on the bridge, at least the first time. The Help Menu in the Menu bar helped also since the instructions on the crane and bridge are in there and the instructions in the game are messed up. If they fix these glitches, and maybe make it more kid friendly, it could be a great game. December 29, 2015
Fair to middling The graphics are good but as others have said the controls are tricky. The biggest problem I found was using the Chicken with the shield without getting killed. The only way I found of doing it was by controlling the Chicken with the joystick instead of the mouse (yes, the game supports joysticks but I found that the mouse was better for some controls and the joystick better for others so ideally you need both to play the game properly). I've played about 20 levels and they are repetitive and easy. There are about 50 levels so they may get harder as the game progresses. The bridge game in between levels really is a chore, it would have been better if that part had been taken out of the game. To me the most enjoyable part of the game was exploiting a bug in the program. On the bridge level, if you walk across the bridge (after repairing it) and through the doorway in the rocks at the other end (I think it is only possible to do this using the joystick) you can walk through the rocks and over the lava and back round to the other side and wander around the scenary. My kids thought this was hilarious. By the way the game saves automatically if you quit after completing a level. I only recommend this game if it is on offer, I would not pay full price for it though. December 18, 2015
Thank you to other reviewers! I thought it was just me and my system. The graphics were really impressive. Nicely drawn and very 3D. The story-line is straight forward and cute. Very sweet and cute characters. Loved them. But --- it went downhill fast from there. I couldn't click where I needed to move the characters. Like another reviewer said, moving through the maze was backwards. I constantly had to pick up my mouse and re-roll it in the opposite direction that it had to move. Confusing, right. Got as far as the chicken with the shield that repels projectiles. Somehow I turned him the wrong way, he died, and it was all over. Had to start over again. I appreciate the developers who spent so much time and energy on the graphics. But, game play, navigation, and character voices need serious improvement. December 13, 2015
Cute Concept, Akward Controls This is a very cute idea for a game. It looks like it has potential to be fun, had the controls not been so akward. I'd like to see it go farther. December 14, 2015
This is not a good game It starts with a tutorial. Which is fine if you are unfamiliar with this kind of game. But there is no way of skipping it. And if you fail at one of the tasks, you have to go all the way back to the start and go through the tutorial again. The controls are not instinctive as the game claims. To move left, you have to click and pull the mouse to the left. Which is the opposite to what you would instinctlively expect. And the voices are annoying. If you're familiar with this kind of thing, give it a go. But don't get your hopes up. And definitely don't buy it without trying it first! December 12, 2015
Only For Those That Hate Themselves! This was annoyingly difficult to navigate. I never figured out how to move my characters, and if you accidently kill one, you have to start the whole torture fest over from the start. Don't do it! Walk away and save your sanity!!!! December 12, 2015
tedium issue with this game I liked the quality of the graphics. I never play with sound, so I cannot comment on that. The story line was OK. A strong story line is usually not needed for this type of game. I like this type of game for the challenge of solving each level. The challenge of the game was actually OK for the eight or so levels I played. First, the tutorial was poor. There were problems with some text overlaying other text. There was no indication that you actually had to scroll to read the rest of the text in each window. There was no information for how to save a game (although it did mention how to load a game). There was some information about each character, but it could have been presented in a much more readable manner. Finally, there was no way to easily look up a specific item you wanted to know about, such as how to pause a game or how to save a game. Overall the game information was poorly presented. In general, I usually like this type of game. It could have been fun to play. Unfortunately, poor game controls and poor implementation make what could have been a fun game a very poor game indeed. Basically, the idea of each level is to get the four characters past several challenges to the exit. They have to help each other because each character has different skills and certain skills are needed to get past specific obstacles. Each level seems to have an increasing number of challenges to get around. (I only played for a small number of levels, though, so I have no idea how the challenge would have been farther along.) I like this type of problem solving. Normally, I would have really enjoyed this type of game. However, there are a few issues making the game unpleasant to play. Because the four characters are a team, you often have more than one character that needs to move down the same corridor together. However, you have to select and then move each character individually. It takes quite a few clicks to get each character down the corridor, because the character only moves a little way down the corridor for each click. There is no way to get an individual character to the end of the corridor or get that character to a particular location that is farther away with only a small number of clicks. There is also no way to select all of the characters in the same vicinity and move them together. Repeating the same long path for two to four characters individually can get mighty tedious. Another issue making the game tedious instead of fun is an activity that is done in between every single level. (At least come up with different activities to do in between each level, please!) You have to use a crane to place missing bricks on a bridge. The mouse is used to control the crane in order to pick up each brick and place it in the correct spot on the bridge. However, the controls keep disengaging or losing connection or something. You have to move your mouse over and over again to get the crane to move in a particular direction. Then when the brick is finally to the right location, the fist click to drop the brick into place puts the game into pause (because the cursor had to be moved so far away during the repeated motions to get the crane to move). After clicking on the icon to get back into the game, you have to be very careful because the tiniest movement will move the crane out of place for dropping the brick. If you drop the brick out of place, you have to pick it up again and re-position (again, with the tiniest movement getting the crane out of place). Then, to move the crane back to the pile of bricks to pick up the next one, it is back to the crane not responding very well and having to do the motion over and over again to get the crane to move back to the brick pile. Once there, you have to pick up the next brick. At that point, it is back to even the tiniest movement moving the crane out of position for picking up the next brick. Because of the awful controls, the whole exercise quickly became incredibly tedious. Unfortunately, this bridge rebuilding exercise has to be done in between every single level of the game, with increasing numbers of bricks each time. The first time this needs to be done is annoying because of the poor controls. After the sixth time, it is maddening. I have no idea how many levels there are to this game, but to be forced to do the horrible brick replacing after ever level -- with an increasing numbers of bricks each time -- is an absolute guarantee that I would never, ever want to have anything whatsoever to do with the game again...even if they fixed the controls to work better! Finally, if you need to exit for some reason or you make a mistake, you have to start over again from the beginning of a level. I never did figure out how to save a game, so I have no idea if this could be gotten around by having an easy way to save one's current status and position to come back to it later or not. I do not recommend this game. The core idea is a good one, but the implementation is horrible. December 13, 2015
It's just awful! I had to try this game after reading the reviews of how bad it was. I thought it couldn't be as bad as they said it was, & it did sound sort of fun. Well, my bad! It IS just as awful as they said. The controls are so un-intuitive & the voices are REALLY annoying. Do yourselves a favor & believe the reviews. So sad because it had the potential of being a really fun little gem. December 12, 2015
