Well worth it This is a very enjoyable game which has kept me entertained without the brain being strained. Sometimes it's nice just to let a game flow, immersing yourself in the story and the gameplay which in this case involves rogue flower dealers and naughty bankers. The graphics are excellent, the music a little mournful but anything else would be inappropriate. Hidden object scenes are relatively straight forward and the puzzles I've encountered have not been arduous. There are collectibles - and your cursor doesn't change to a hand when you reach them which makes a nice change. As always with this series, you have a botanist's kit to analyse the killer pollen. It's all rather fun without an awful lot of challenge; I have no hesitation in recommending that you give it a try at least. October 24, 2015
WOW! This is an outstanding game in my opinion. It has an original story, very nice to see something else but witches or dark hooded ghost figures spreading curses. Also, this game has beautiful graphics, really. It's a pleasure to look at every new scene! Compliments, devs, really crystal clear! Last but not least I love the objects you're using. Beautiful and cute dolls, fantastic flowers and lifelike animals. This is a perfect CE, worth every eurocent! Really recommended! October 25, 2015
Fantastic game! The other reviewers have broke this game down well. I would only add that the pictures shown do not do this game justice. I highly recommend trying the demo or Youtubing " European Mystery 3: Flowers of Death Gameplay" before you pass this great game up. October 24, 2015
Suffocating Poisionous Pollen Plants....Yikes!!! You began your investigation quest to stop a maniac's murderous trail of Fragrance and Deceit in [Scent of Desire]. Then you traveled to Rome to catch a villain who robs Nobles of their jewelry using it to steal victims body parts, eyes, and hair in order to take on the physical traits of His victims in [The Face of Envy]. Now Blam! Games has prepared a new and wonderful surprise for you ? the continuation of European Mystery series 3: Flowers of Death Collector?s Edition. In this edition you will have to explore the most beautiful city of Netherlands! You were sent there because of the strange plant attacks (yes, not the animal attacks ? these attackers are primal predatory plants attacking people of the Netherlands and sucking out their life. Moreover, these dangerous examples of flora are spreading toxic pollen around them, so the police can?t even examine the bodies ? it?s year 1788 and first primitive respirator was invented in year 1799! Now find a way to crack this case without being poisoned yourself. These are illegal flowering plants sold only on the black market to business associates who are dropping like flies. When you meet the florist in town he tells you the previous florist is dead but offers no additional details. Its up to you to deduce the various suspects and apprehend the villain in this sly reality of European Mystery. You will be totally captivated by the vivid graphics and glorious animation. Including special jobs, heaps of locations and tributes, and a superb plot sure to please players of all levels from opening to denouement. I can't rave enough about this edition. It has all the usual cool CE bling and a awesome bonus game [not relative to the main story]. Demo this for yourself and take advantage of the sale. October 24, 2015
Exquisitely detailed graphics and era appropriate! This game is so beautifully rendered that I was absolutely caught up in the details of every scene! The game itself was not exceptionally different from so many others using flowers as the deadly opponent, however every almost every single item in the game was era perfect, every scene exceptionally detailed in every aspect that I could see. I was so supremely impressed with the graphics that I was more caught up in appreciating the incredible artwork that must have gone into the creation of this game. BLAM you have outdone yourself!! Not only the graphics but cutscenes were also very detailed and flamboyant. I especially appreciated the Collector in the Bonus game where he throws his flower bomb, expecting immediate results and then having to give the floor a nudge to get it going.....then with a lovely flourish, tip his hat and retreat to his secret room. The characters were also incredibly detailed and given minute characteristics to give them human appeal. The game puzzles were fun and not hard but interesting. Many different types of HOS's which breaks up the monotony of do the same thing over and over, which I detest. I enjoyed playing this game immensely for all of the reasons above. The morphing collectors items were extremely tiny however and very difficult to find.....were it not for the included walkthrough I would have been quite frustrated in trying to find them....my only complaint. But seriously nothing to get your knickers in a knot about and certainly does not detract from the exquisite artwork and details in every scene of this game or in the gameplay. Even without hints or sparkles the game was very clear on almost every step to take in order to move forward in your detection. The music appropriate but some quite monotonous, but that usually does not deter me from enjoying wholeheartedly the beauty and detail of the game. Well done BLAM and Big Fish! Finally, a game to truly rave about! <3 October 27, 2015
FLOWERS ON A RAMPAGE European Mystery Flowers of Death is the third game in the series. Mysterious flowers are out of control and have killed several citizens in the town. You have been asked to investigate but maybe this is a case where you don?t want to find the answers. You really don?t know who you should trust because someone is up to no good. The game offers four modes of gameplay: Casual, Advanced Hardcore, and Custom. In the custom mode you can set both the hint and skip buttons to recharge in a range of 15 to 90 seconds. There is also an option to turn off the rapid search penalty. The graphics are excellent and at times beautiful. The lip-synced voiceovers are also quite good and, along with the sound package, add a lot to the game. Our tools for the game include an interactive transporter type map and an Evidence Board. We also have a mini-lab as in the previous games where we can concoct various herbicides to counteract the poisonous pollens we encounter. Yes those out of control plants are deadly! What I enjoyed most in this game are the HOPS that have quite a bit of variety. Some are silhouette while others are the list type but no matter which type, they are interactive and some are quite different. IMHO, the HOPS made the game a lot of fun. Even a few of the puzzles were different than those we normally see but it did seem that there were more HOPS than puzzles. The CE version of the game has collectible flower cards to find in various scenes in the game. I don?t know if it is just me but I think they might morph as well. Either that or I need to have my eyes checked ? lol. Of course there are those ever-present, meaningless achievements to be earned. I think we could sleep through the game and still earn many of them. The remainder of the extras includes the standards such as the Strategy Guide and the bonus gameplay. The first game in the European Mystery series was quite good but I didn?t care as much for the second game. Fortunately, Flowers of Death seems quite improved and I found it quite enjoyable. As I mentioned above the HOPS were excellent and not just time fillers so that we could find an item that is needed. I purchased the game as soon as it was released since I know that it will be hours of fun. As always, I recommend that you try the demo to see if you will enjoy this game. October 24, 2015
?TIPTOE THROUGH THE TULIPS? OF THE NETHERLANDS TO SOLVE THIS MYSTERY It is ?tulip time? at BFG. As a detective, put on your wooden shoes and travel to the Netherlands for a case involving a collector of rare flowers involved in selling them through the black market. Something is amiss in his ?little shop of horrors.? This is a suspenseful, well-crafted low 5 star game. The graphics are beautiful with a creative variety of puzzles and puzzle-like HOP scenes. There are more puzzles than HOP scenes in this game. I found myself enrapt in the mystery of this well-paced game. Throughout the game you will discover each of the collector?s business associates in a comatose state, being poisoned by flowers. You will need to locate the source behind all of the poisonous pollen from these flowers. The HOP scenes are principally lists of items to locate with one scene featuring silhouette items. They are well-done and puzzle-like. Some of the scenes require sequential actions. In one of the HOP scenes, there are morphing objects to locate which must morph before you can remove them from the scenes. Rather cool and innovative. Although most of the HOP scenes are principally lists of items to be located, each scene is unique with varied activities. The puzzles are fairly easy with the exception of one puzzle at the end of the demo which is slightly difficult. The puzzles include variations of matching puzzles, balance/weight puzzles, switch puzzles, moving tiles puzzle, jigsaw puzzle, and assembly puzzles. As you analyze poisonous pollen to find the ?antidote,? you will play several puzzles, each increasing in difficulty as you progress in the game. LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore, Custom Hints 15 to 90 seconds Skips 15 to 90 seconds EXTRAS: Map is given to you at the start of the game 14 Achievements You get an evidence board to help sort out the clues in this case Pollen collector to collect and analyzed pollen from dangerous plants Collect 15 flower cards Collect wooden shoes Morphing objects throughout the game Strategy guide Usual wallpaper, artwork, video, music. You can replay the mini-games HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND MINI-PUZZLES HOP SCENES: A. Locate 3 each of four types of silhouette items. This 3rd installment of European Mystery passes the sniff test The initial European Mystery came out nearly 2 years ago and it was an excellent game. The second version, though not quite as good was also a very playable game. Flowers of Death is the best of the series without a doubt. The setting is the Netherlands and by the looks of it we are transported back at least a couple centuries. Someone or some group has botanically engineered some exceedingly sinister flowers which have the ability to capture and totally neutralize individuals. A detective is summoned to determine who is behind the nefarious goings on and foil their ambitions. There are scenes wherein one of the "bad guy " flowers have captured townsmen, one being a banker. The detective can use a pollen detector to amass 3 items which when used in the correct order develops a spray which dissolves a fog cast by the flower. Then the detective can examine the room containing the victim. As the story develops, it seems there is a cabal attempting to corner the market on certain types of flowers and their seeds or bulbs. The demo does not render enough information about the villains but it certain whets the appetite to continue the investigation. Too many times in HOPAs the story is laid out rather quckly and the player need not use investigative skills. Flowers of Death allows the gamer to decipher the mystery piecemeal, something all games should do to reach a level of greatness. All of the hidden object segments are interactive and demand a bit of thought. None of the puzzles break new ground, yet again Blam Games forces us to put on thinking caps to complete the puzzles. There are flower cards to collect as well. For me, this game satisfies on all levels. The story interests me, it is well drawn, the cut scenes and voice overs are top-notch, and the gathering of items and information is very well done. I give Flowers of Death an overwhelming approval and it shall become part of my own game collection. October 24, 2015
