The holiday months are here and they’ve brought a huge array of new video games for Black Friday shoppers to enjoy. Below are some of the best games, and gaming platform deals, the shopping season has to offer, including fan favorites and a few indie hits, too!
1. Call of Duty: WWII
Activision never fails to disappoint with their Call of Duty games, and fans are getting hyped for the release of WWII. For the past few game releases, Call of Duty has featured futuristic weapons and settings, but the newest release will go back to the second World War. Sledgehammer Games, the developer, enlisted the help of a World War II historian to ensure historical accuracy for weapons and battle sites, and true Call of Duty fans couldn’t be more excited to see the end result. If you’re looking for the biggest hit of the 2017 holiday season, this is probably it. It is available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and the release date was November 3rd. Most stores have it listed for $59.99, but it may be available for less around Black Friday. The game will also be available as part of a bundle with an Xbox One console.
2. Star Wars Battlefront II
Critics of Star Wars Battlefront were unhappy with the lack of content in the 2015 game release, but that shouldn’t be the case with this year’s Star Wars Battlefront II. Electronic Arts, the game creators, listened to consumer complaints, adding tons of new content in the latest game release. Buyers can also play live online and will have access to free content like maps and additional characters. The game will be released on November 17th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Retail price is $59.99 from most retailers, though deals will likely be available for the holiday season since it’s such a big-name title. It will also be released as part of a PlayStation 4 bundle for $299.99.
3. Mario Party: The Top 100
Mario is such an iconic character that he has become practically synonymous with gaming. The world’s favorite plumber and all his crew are back this year with Mario Party: The Top 100. It’s titled “The Top 100″ because it features 100 mini-games from the complete Mario series of games. Up to four players can connect wirelessly to compete against one another in the mini-games. Mario Party: The Top 100 will be released on November 10, 2017 on Nintendo 3DS. Retail price is $39.99.
4. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Skyrim is a breathtaking open-world adventure game from Bethesda Softworks that has captivated gamers for years as part of the beloved Elder Scrolls series. Over the past several years, the game’s developers have released expansions and remastered versions of the game for various systems. This year, they are adding a new version for the Nintendo Switch, and so far, it’s getting rave reviews. Apparently, the landscapes are just as captivating in a handheld version as they are on the big screen. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be released on the Nintendo Switch on November 17th. The MSRP is $59.99, though deals will likely be available around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
