Caesar, heerser van het Romeinse rijk, is vergiftigd! Na vergeefse pogingen van wijze geneesheren lijkt de enige redding in de handen van de goden te liggen. Caesars dochter, Julia, is radeloos en Victorius, de eerzame generaal, besluit op een lange reis te gaan naar het koninkrijk van de goden.
