Danse Macabre: Deadly Deception is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is This a Case of Stolen Identity? Where is the Real Marion? From the start, it's apparent that the victim of our case is not the true Marion Ashworth. But who is she? Over the course of the game we attempt to learn the truth of her identity and what led to this. If this isn't the true Marion Ashworth, then where is she? As in other games in this series, Deadly Deception has wonderful visuals and sound. The level of challenge isn't too difficult. The story took an interesting twist on the classic "stolen identity" story. The hidden object scenes have the "Match 3" option in case you get stuck or want to use it instead, while avoiding using a hint. I'm kind of disappointed that we didn't get to learn more about what drove her into the identity theft. We got a, "I'll be free to be myself!" at the end, so I guess she felt like she was under too much pressure? The CE version of this game continues the story after the culprit is arrested. Also, one of the victims had a dog, while the culprit had a bird. I hope they were adopted later on! Overall, it's another wonderful installment in the Danse Macabre series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a masterpiece To me, this was the best of the series. Compelling mystery, engaging characters and psychologically true. The story never got bogged down with interacting with objects. Goes on my favorite games list.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent story!! This is a great story, different, interesting and exciting. I thoroughly enjoyed this "who done it", and in addition, "who is it". Story holds your interest to the end and the end is very good! Everything in this story is excellent; the graphics, map with objectives, good mix of HOs and very good puzzles! I always play 'hardcore' and it is really a workout. There is no info; you are on your own! I loved this game!! HAVE FUN!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game. Sorry I purchased the Reg edition, would have liked to play a bonus chapter. This game really played like a cc edition. It was very long, good mini games, interesting storyline and nice graphics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Murder Mystery Story This is my new favourite game. I adore the plot written here. A proper mystery with a plot twist that is discovered right near the start. Lovely artwork, many sensible object discoveries and it's great to have a match-3 version that takes over "hidden object finds". I prefer to find objects but know that it's not for everyone... it's clever to have something different available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sick of dark creepy games? this is it! I played lots of hidden object games, and kinda sick of dark and creepy pictures. This game has pleasant settings and pictures, even though the subject is still murder. Not at all scary, but still interesting! I do agree with the absurdity like finding faucet in the windcharm, but I guess that's typical for all these games! I am not sure if this game was really short or I feel that way since I enjoyed it so much. Kinda feels short.. finished in 3 days.. (5 hours maybe?) I still recommend this game to people who enjoyed Nevertale series. They are another series with not too creepy pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from looking for the real daughter you have been asked to help solve the murder of a ballerina and when the parents are brought in to identify the body the dead woman is not their daughter. now, as a detective, you have been asked by the parents to find the missing daughter. not too many HO scenes but they have great graphics and are very clear. there is a custom level. an interactive map and a journal. it is an enjoyable game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marion is NO Librarian Here This is posted after playing the whole thing. Eipix has come up with another winner. I really enjoyed everything about this game. I have been waiting forever for it to come out in SE and it is here! The visuals and sound are above reproach. Those folks do know how to put together a game. The scenery is beautiful and the hidden objects were clear. I still don't understand the dialog boxes, but I guess they have their reasons. Music goes along with the situation and is rather enjoyable. Effects are right on spot too. There are several different types of hidden object scenes. From the list to a picture, to... you name it they put it in there. I didn't much care for the mini games. They were a bit, no, a lot more difficult than I like to attempt, but I don't like any of them so that is no distraction from Eipix. Those who enjoy racking their brains will enjoy this one. There are numerous minis for you to ponder. Thankfully for me, the skip is nice and quick as is the hint. I didn't play the alternate game. Enjoyed the hidden objects. You have an interactive map which is great. There is a journal which to be quite honest I found useless. Still don't know why they even included it unless it was to have something to hit when I was aiming for the map button. You can read about the story, but I can tell you it is consistent. No holes... well written and executed. This series has been awesome. I can't wait to play it again. There is so much to enjoy about this game I'm sure I left something out. Give it a try and see if you don't agree it is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game I really enjoyed playing this game versus some of the same old, tedious fairy tales that are so common. This is a good mystery with an interesting story that is well told. You collect evidence along the way in a journal. Game play is good with good HOS and puzzles. The HINT button works well. I missed what others complained about, the "Think" thing. The production is top notch, too. The story has a good ending, but I wondered if maybe there night have been more in the CE bonus chapter. From reading the CE reviews, apparently I didn't miss anything. This is a very enjoyable game and is well worth the SE pric.
