Beyond: Light Advent Collector's Edition is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 153.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasant Surprise! I don't do many reviews here. I am an avid fan of HOP's and read reviews quite a bit to at least get an Idea of what I'm scoping out. I didn't think I would enjoy it but boy, was I wrong! This game had me so enthralled with the storyline I forgot to look for the collectible spaceships! Great game! Everything flows smoothly, and the graphics are beautiful. I even liked the song at the beginning. I enjoyed this one so much that I just purchased the other two in the series. Try it on for size. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd time around, as good as the 1st time. . . I purchased this game in February 2016. I really enjoyed playing it, too. I didn't give a review in 2016, since there were so many reviews on record. I am giving my review now, as for playing the game 2nd time around. It was just as good, as the 1st time! I replayed the game, because I had just purchased the new Beyond game that just recently came out. I wanted to renew my mind as to how the game was played and to see if the new game was a sequel. Well, the new Beyond is not a sequel or the Developers are not showing that it is. But, bottom line - I got to play an awesome game! The graphics are unbelievable and the story plot is excellent. I did purchase the Collector's Edition and really enjoyed the "added" playing of looking for the Collectables. The Mini games can be hard, I needed to use the Hint more than I like to. The HOG were challenging but doable. I did have to use the Hint, when I really didn't understand where I should be looking. I would say that I solved the HOG about 98% of the time. I also liked that I could "customize" my own playing. How long to recharge the Hints or Skips or Allowing Hints to help and so forth. I like when these Options are available in the HOA games. The Beyond games are truly HOA, Hidden Objects Adventure games. The game was long enough, too. I hate it when any of the games I spend money on, are too quick. With the Collector's Edition you get to play a Bonus game, as well a many other games like HO or Mini puzzles. Your Achievements and Collectables counts and finds are recorded. I highly recommend this game to those who love or like this genre of HOA. I don't recommend this for young children. The game is more complicated. Teenagers can play this game, very easily. Especially, if they play these kinds of games all the time. I am so glad that I played Beyond: Light Advent again. I thoroughly enjoyed playing it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Futurist Game This game came out July 2015. I bought it Mar 2017. Waited until I felt like playing it. I just finished the whole game Feb 23, 2018. I enjoyed this game and was wowed by some of the futurist things they came up with. They have a cute robot named nib. I loved the future apartment and world. I'm big on the extras. I loved collecting 44 rockets. They have a nice rocket by the hint and it lights up when you find it. I was able to get some of the rockets I missed but I didn't wait until the end. I played on and off for four days and when I turned it on I would just go to the extras and click on rockets and pick up any I missed. They really had some nice details. Just opening to the main page they have a movie billboard that scrolled some Mad Head games. The Indian rubber ducky was cute. The 50's diner is cool. You have morphs in the hops and when you found it, it would jump into a cage. The end credits has a full movie poster and Nib the robot flying around. I play for the hops. There are 16 hops in the main game and 5 in the bonus chapter and as I mentioned they have morphs. My favorite hops in the main game was the wigwam and dishes in the cupboard. In the bonus chapter my favorite hops are the woodland flowers. This game has a sense of humor. Que the foil hat. I was thinking when polly said, polly wants a cracker. M wants the sound off. The rest of the game the music was pleasant. I love the manual puzzles. The ones you have to time it just right and hit it. I also like in the right sequence and a cold, warm and hot puzzle. The bonus chapter puzzle that you adjust all the setting to shoot a marble and hit a certain spot. Mad Head games also made-Fright Chasers, Dawn of Hope, Donna Brave, Maze, Adam Wolfe, Cadenza, Shadowplay, Rite of Passage, Dark Realm and Nevertales. FYI for the CE- replay 21 hops, download 11 music tracks, 12 wallpapers, 40 piece jigsaw puzzle, one mini-game match three heads, making of, Ultimate hops and achievements. There was 21 morphs in the hops and 44 Rockets to collect. * CE stands for Collector's Edition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't wait, just buy it! You won't regret it! The only reason I can think of to download and try this game before buying is to make sure it will run on your computer. (By the way, I had perfect performance on my PC--no glitches.) This game has it all: Most of the puzzles were new to me and a good challenge! Character development was excellent, the story was fresh and well written, the acting was spot on. Graphics are gorgeous with many varied locations. Music was unobtrusive and pleasant. Hidden object scenes had a lot of variety of styles and mechanisms. Mad Head Games has climbed to the top of my list for wonderful adventures! Well done! I keep saying a good story makes up for so many other problems. This company can clearly write a good story AND produce a game with no negatives at all. The bonus game was fairly long and very entertaining. The extras included replay of all hidden object scenes, a jigsaw puzzle, an extra super-HOS and a few others. I think the CE is well worth the extra price in this case, especially if you can get it at half off. Really a great game and a lot of bang for your buck. Thank you Mad Head Games! More! Encore!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Story line keeps you fascinated I discovered this game from last year while I was looking around for any HOP games to play. After reading the first few reviews, I had to give it a go and I'm glad I did. The visuals, sound, and story are all top notch. I bought it after a few minutes of play. You are trying to help N'ix after his ship crash lands on Earth. He is here to stop the World Eaters who want to destroy our planet. If it weren't for the fact that I had to go to bed, I would play this game all night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sunning sci-fi It's been so long since I've done a review, but I had to for this. I nearly didn't buy it after a brief demo, as I thought there were too many cut scenes which interrupted play, how wrong I was! They are all stunning and far from getting in the way of game play, they definitely add to a great gaming experience. Thanks to other certain reviewers who seem to share my taste, and a sale, I didn't miss out on this stellar game. The graphics are amazing, and the music is perfect for the ambience and really adds to the feel of the game. The characters are also very good, and it doesn't hurt to have one who bears a resemblance to a certain Irish actor called Cillian! The puzzles are plentiful and very well suited to the game and enjoyable, not the mind bending challenge I sometimes crave but kept me perfectly entertained. The hidden object scenes are also well done and quite varied and innovative, although those morphing objects became a personal challenge at times. As is usual with Mad Head, you also have a chance to replay them for an achievement, and the rest of achievements are for doing things well rather than just passing a point in the game, also rockets to collect for another. Extras inlude character profiles, the usual wallpapers, collectibles hunt which I can take or leave, and the eye straining bonus hidden object, extra mini game and jigsaw puzzle upon completion of bonus chapter. The 'making of' is nice to see back too. Sometimes in games I feel that I'm doing things for no real reason other than as a filler, but all tasks and found objects made sense. I also liked the diary in the form of the bracelet memory. The map was also very pleasing on the eye. The game a good length too, I've played so many now I can often run through them all to quickly. Also, the bonus is a good length and adds to the story and doesn't feel like a tacked on bit at the end just to upgrade it to a CE. It's so nice to have another decent sci-fi game, and from one of my all time favourite developers to boot. It's such a beautiful and immersive game, one which I was sorry to come to the end of, but I will definitely be revisiting after a suitable period of time has passed. I definitly recommend this game, and I'd say that the CE is completely worth it in this case if you can afford it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More, More, More, Please!!! I have been DYING for sci fi HOPA games. There are only two good ones that I know of and this is one. The gameplay is fantastic. The characters are wonderful. This is the one of the few games where I was more lost in the story than in the games and puzzles. I got fairly close to the end of the game and then stopped playing for a few weeks because I didn't want it to end. The alien world and tech is gorgeous. Why don't these game studios realize that we want good sci fi games instead of fairies and ogres and witches and dead people and curses? The villain in this one got a little dark for my taste but you don't spend much time around them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Hot Alien BF is ONLY a bonus Whew, I made an account here just to review this game. I've played 80+ HOG before and never before I was so deeply carried away by the plot. Ok, the plot is actually cliche and average, but when executed exceptionally, it would be a very huge improvement for a hidden object game. This is also my first time to feel actual care and compassion to characters in my HOG, and no other HOG ever made me feel this way before, like, seriously. There are other HOG with brilliant, detective-like, twisty plot, but I don't care about them. I skip the clues and notes, and when I finished the game I had no idea how the storyline actually flow. I only remember those games vaguely. Maybe complicated story just isn't for HOG. Simple but emotional execution in Beyond : Light Advent is so refreshing and clear. My top other reason why you should play this game is : - Rare sci-fi theme??? How many sci-fi themed HOG do you know?? - Native american culture is featured heavily in this game. - There's also one Indian dude too and he's very helpful. Do you know how it feel to have your motorcycle tire blown out and no one helping you? - I played as a lady main character. Yes, this is common in HOG but still feels awesome. - THE ROOM SOUVENIRS ARE SO HARD TO FIND. You know, in other games the souvenirs are just...there, sitting obviously, fulfilling their destiny as room counter. But the rocket? God. I almost add minus to my eyes from intense searching. - The hidden object and mini games are nice, not that hard but obvs not that easy either - SUPER GORGEOUS ART. If Echoes series is the master of ethereal and gorgeous medieval background art, then this game is the master of beautiful SciFi landscape art. Like, wow, I didn't want to finish P'tula's memory because the scenery from her apartment was sick - CUTE ROBOT. HAVE YOU SEEN THEM. I WANT TWENTY NINE. - Nix. is. Super. Hot. Seriously. I am an asexual girl and almost always cringe when I see guys flirt on movie, but Nix's compliment is so nonchalantly done, so smooth, and immediately make me want to throw myself to his embrace. Come on. Diana can't be the only lady to be visited by handsome, soft smiling alien bf. I want one too. Please take responsibility MadHead ;____; - You will be care about the characters. You. will. be. care. about. the. characters. This is not something you expected will happen when you play a HOG but you will be care about the characters. Sob. Overal 5/5. Best HOG I've ever played until now.
