Customer Reviews
Mystery Trackers: Paxton Creek Avenger is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit disappointed I think I have all the Mystery Tracker games and have enjoyed them so I purchased this without demo with a credit. Glad it was only a credit. Game was very, very dark. HOS were almost impossible to find some of the objects as they were hidden in completely dark areas and you just clicked around until you found them. HOS were varied, but frustrating...and there were a lot of them. Puzzles, the same and I skipped almost all of them. Options set-up allowed you to set both the hint and skip to refresh quickly and it served one well in this game. Gameplay was not smooth and sometimes awkward which made the game very tiring to play...I was really glad when it ended. Storyline, gameplay...all very stilted...not like the previous Mystery Tracker games. Transporter map was needed as the game was one of those pick up here, use it there games. I used the hint and skip a lot which I don't usually do in a game, but this game made it necessary. I felt the game was not a very long game, which was good in this case. Glad I didn't pay $$ for this one and you won't miss a thing if you don't play it. Turned down the music immediately and voice overs could be annoying.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from avenger I played the demo and some of it was fun and other areas were just ok. in the beginning I thought it would be a fun and interesting game but I changed my mind. I haven't decided whether or not I am going to buy this game. I have bought mant of the mystery trackers games and all of them but this one was fun.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Revenge is Sweetest... This is posted after playing the entire game. As you know this is the tenth edition of this saga. Although it was a decent game, it fell below the standards set by the previous versions. It was fun, but not like I expected. The reason I purchased this game is because it wasn't about a ghost, witch or super natural in nature. I am so tired of those themes. Thank you Elephant Games for the break. Instead of using real people, as before, they were all drawn. That was the first let down in this one. That is not to say the graphics were not well done, they were, but it just lacked the authentic flare of the others. Voice overs were well done as were the effects. I really liked the music in this. Very good listening. Colors were realistic and not drab. I was a bit disappointed in the hidden objects. The majority seemed to be silhouette, which is not my favorite. There was one which was interactive, but that is the only one I can recall. There are a few with lists, but as I said the majority were silhouette. I found the mini games confusing to the point I just could not figure out how to do them or were well beyond my patience level to attempt. Thank goodness I used the custom setting and the skip charged quickly. They were nothing we haven't seen before, but seemed to be very involved in solving. Those who like mini games will like this one. The mini games ruined this one for me. There are several levels of difficulty, an interactive map which does show areas with something to do and will transport you to anyplace you want to go. Of course, ALF was there, and seemed to be used more in this game than the previous ones. The story was decent. I won't go into the story, because Big Fish gives you enough detail that you get the idea. It did flow well from scene to scene and the continuity was very good. I didn't see a flaw in it at all. It did seem to be a short game, but I'm chalking that up to the fact I skipped so many mini games. I would probably still be playing if not for that. The demo was short, so don't base your opinion solely on it. You get a taste of the game, but there is a lot more to it. Give it a try and I think you will enjoy it too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from hidden object pretty good, could have had a stronger plot

Rated 2 out of 5 by from When is a wrench not a wrench? SPOILER ALERT Usually if the clue says, "I need a wrench here," you use the inventory item marked Wrench. This doesn't work here. Later in the game, there is another Wrench. At the piano, the clue is "Where's that key?" Apply Key (which does refer to musical notes) from your inventory and ... it doesn't work. That's just in the demo. I like a clever puzzle, but in this case it seems like the developers were playing "Ha! Made ya look!" It gets old fast.
