Myths of the World: Born of Clay and Fire Collector's Edition is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from EIPIX DEVS are the masters of mini-games and puzzles! EIPIX devs are masters of the mini-games and puzzles and I loved the fact that many of the tasks themselves had “mini-mini” games within them. It seems order and chaos go hand-in-hand in this game. Although, the names have been changed the story seems familiar. With Myths of the World: Born of Clay and Fire CE version, you will be all over the place with a pretty decent map, good hint button, and the guide if you need it. I haven’t used the guide in so long—in fact, I often forget it’s there, but in one particular case, I had to use it to find out how to complete a puzzle. I had two parts of it accomplished, but the third part was puzzling and rather than skip it, I wanted to know what the strategy was as I didn't feel the instructions to begin with were very clear. In my opinion, this is one of the most challenging games I have played in a very long time and I’m giving that category a 5+. I am very close to the end of the Main Game and felt the need to give my review while the thoughts are afresh in my mind. With all its inconsistencies and illogical moments and all the jumping around, somehow it worked for me. It’s like I understand these devs! Many of the tasks had no rhyme to its reason but that's nothing new really. You really have to start thinking like the devs do. I can assure you that you will find at least five puzzles in this game that will stump you. The flow is okay, could have been better, but I think that’s the method to EIPIX madness! The irrationality of some their tasks, for instance, you accomplish part a task in the library area but need another item to complete it by jumping to the castle across town, didn’t make any sense to me; but again, you have a pretty decent map but it didn’t always show the objectives as it should have, but somehow you’ll know what to do next and where to go. You will have many items in your inventory throughout the game as well. This is a long game and you will have tons of things to do. And it will test your patience, too! My kind of game actually. For this genre, you can’t a more challenging game. I’m giving it a low-5-star because, thus far, I have not been bored one bit. Perplexed perhaps, but not bored and that’s a good thing for me. I’m sure when I complete the Bonus Game that I will be able to replay a couple of the puzzles I skipped. But I’m proud of the fact that I spent the time figuring out the others. Normally, I would have moved on but if for any reason, stick it out if you can. One of my favorite, fun mini-games was navigating through the cemetery by following the clues on the tombstones. Really neat! Another fun thing was finally finding the object, (not one I would have thought of), to break the bars in another, isolated area. Another cool mini-game was positioning the soldiers to match the image. I really enjoy those. The graphics, on the whole was okay. A lot of work went into the art, no doubt, but I’ve seen better. The music was good; the voiceover were great; the storyline—familiar. Then you have your collectible items like the fire symbols to find, which adds to the intrigue. Also, there are Animal Alchemy symbols to complete, (8 animals/three puzzle pieces for each one), to find. These are not easy to locate throughout the scenes but so far I’ve got most of them. The HOPS are great and varied as usual. There are morphing objects within those which adds to the intrigue. The variety of things to do in this game is amazing! Not too often during the game will you come across an enchanted area, but when you do, you will need the ‘chalk and powder’ magic to break the enchantment. You can’t really move on otherwise. I’m telling you, it’s all part of the EIPIX madness. That’s why they’re one of my favorite devs. You will definitely get your money’s worth with this game. Trust me. I know there’s different strokes for different folks, but this game will not disappoint. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bravo!! First and foremost this game had some length. It makes for a game you can actually get involved in. Also there was a storyline. Yes it had a bit of the mwa haha who wanted power which we see over and over again but it really was not the main focus of the game. I actually enjoyed this story and became kind of involved. Secondly it was not dumbed down. Some of the games now just bore me to tears they are so easy. But in this one the fire signs were actually hidden and there were puzzle pieces to find also. You had to think sometimes about where to go and what do next. I love that. It had a good jump map and hint system if you needed it. Loved the mini games especially the connect the triangles and the coin placement one. I'm also a big fan of detail.. the clouds moving, the birds chirping and flying by, the flowers, the insects etc. I am a player that notices and appreciates every single one. I actually stayed not only for the extra chapter but to complete every achievement. I almost never do that. It's a sign of a really good game for me. If I am bored I get out after the main game. Well done, well put together game with some challenge and some length. Thank you Eipix. More like this one please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eipix Delivers an Outstanding Edition to this Amazing Series!!! I think this is one of the best games offered thus far in 2016. Myths of the World: Born of Clay and Fire Collector's Edition is a hidden object adventure game in which your goal is to collect useful objects and combine them in order to advance from one scene to the other. There are interactive hidden object scenes and puzzles to solve as well, and they usually REALLY challenge you to find the right patterns, or to move certain objects in such a way as to unlock a certain mechanism. You play the role of ILONA, daughter to an acclaimed Alchemist. Your home town of Prague of under the threat of destruction and you must face the Tyrant Libor and his Gargoyle army in order to save the day. When a Clayborne Super Gargoyle is forged from clay and fire the situation seems almost impossible to defeat, but you must and use all of your Alchemy knowledge in the process. It is your duty to protect the other inhabitants and find out how to stop the creature from destroying the city altogether. As always, the graphics are sublime, at least if you do not mind the lack of a third dimension, or the inability to walk around freely. However, in my minds eye this means that every scene is beautifully hand drawn and as detailed as possible, which is a lot more pleasant than a lot of 3D games out there. In addition, there’s really excellent voice acting to add some personality to the characters. I thought the story was very unique, original, and extremely engaging. Half way thru the adventure I almost referred to the strategy guide because I was confused about directives, but I didn't because I feel like I am cheating when I do. I have played all of the Myths of the World editions and this one seems the most difficult with regard to gameplay and some of the puzzles were way to hard and I had to "SKIP". Some of these puzzles might require quite a bit of reasoning, but you always have the option to "SKIP" them entirely if you choose a lower difficulty level. It may not be fair, but there’s nothing fun about the game if you struggle and you are frustrated all the time. All in all, Myths of the World: Born of Clay and Fire Collector's Edition is a great entry in the series, a well as quite the pleasant hidden object adventure game on its own. Hence, if you are a fan of the genre, this should definitely be on your list. Beginners may need the strategy guide so I am glad its included. Worthy of far more than just 5 stars this series just gets better and better...I highly recommend!!! ? ? ? ?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great Game In This Series .... Great Graphics, Sound, Animations, Effects, Story, Voice & Video Bits ... But Perhaps A Bit Too Much Pastel Pink In The Skies ... A Great Piece Of Entertainment And A Great Addition To The Series ... Plenty Of Adventure & Collectibles And Not Too Overloaded With Puzzles & HOGs ... Game Duration Was Good And The Bonus Chapter Was A Nice Continuation To Conclude The Story ... Well Worth Getting On A Special Deal ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long game thanks! Long game with collectable fire symbols and puzzle pieces, fun. Good adventure lots of places to go with a good map to minimize back and forth. Puzzles were good, not fantastic but were good. Hops were not too many and somewhat interesting, didn't annoy me too much. Bonus Game: (reviewers need to review this part more often) was a good length, continued with collectables. This was a worthy CE due to it's length, the collectables in game, and a good length bonus game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just another HOG I was leery of this being just another HOG, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. The HOG games were, for the most part, more than just find and click objects, and that gets a high mark for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Think Dad Just Gave Frankenstein A Soul Ignac is a well known alchemist and craftsman who has been secretly experimenting with clay and fire. He has been trying to breathe life into a Clayborne to protect the citizens of Prague. Something goes terribly wrong however, causing his creation to wreak havoc on the city, and the King to sign his death warrant! Ignac's daughter Ilona must search for the truth and discover her father's true intentions to save her father from certain death. Ilona stumbles onto evidence that could lead to the abolishment of alchemy altogether, as she discovers daunting evidence of foul play within the Order of Alchemy! Although this story is eerily similar to the Golems story, I found this game to be a well written and entertaining game, even if the storylines been presented in every way possible. The graphics are top notch and the puzzles are very clever. There are several Achievements to earn as well as 43 Hidden Fire Symbols to find. Some of the scenes have hidden pieces of Stone Plates that form Animal Alchemy symbols once all three fragments have been found. The Hidden Object Scenes are varied and usually multi-layered, there are the usual types, Progressive Silhouetted Shape finds where you find the first item that matches the Silhouetted Shape and use that item in the scene interactively to expose the next item. There are also Listed items during a narrated story where you find items in Bold Print, Fragmented mirrors shards to find, and drawings that depict something missing or an object needed to achieve the end result. Some of the HOP's have a Morphing Object to find as indicated by a swirling icon. You can opt to play a game of Stepping Stones instead, a click and drag variation of a Match 3 game. The Mini Games are quite decent, most of them are somewhat time consuming, but doable. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Open several doors to match identical pairs of cogs. 2) Select an image from the bottom of the screen, the sun and moon show how to set the hands of the clock on the top screen. Use the reference page to point hands to the correct zodiac symbols. 3) Move the buttons so the number match how many times the symbol is shown on a reference. 4) Turn the needle using arrows until only the three symbols indicated on the drawing are lit, then rotate the crystals to guide the light beam to the bottom. 5) Draw a Line that connects the starting point to each triangle with limited moves and without moving diagonally or crossing the same field. This Collector's Edition has 43 Hidden Fire Symbols, 15 Morphing Objects within the HOP's, 20 replayable Puzzles, 15 replayable HOP's, replayable Skipping Stones games, a Souvenir Boat, 3 hidden Animal Alchemy Symbol stone plates for 8 different animals, 15 Videos, 9 Music Soundtracks, 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 14 Achievements to earn, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mythical Delight HELLO FELLOW FISHIES! I am diving into the pond today to tell you that I really enjoy “Myths of the World: Born of Fire and Clay”! This game has exceptionally high graphic quality. There is a visually stunning attention to detail, deeply saturated, bright colors, with good contrast and lots of interesting things to look at in each new location. The soundtrack is very good, with crisp environmental sounds, nice sound effects related to using objects or solving puzzles and a very nice musical score. I appreciate the overall level of difficulty versus ease in the adventure aspects of the game, as well as within the mini games and puzzles. I found game play simple enough not to cause undo frustration, with just enough challenge to make me think a bit. I find the puzzles quite fun to solve. As someone who is not a hidden object enthusiast (old eyes), I love that they gave us an interesting alternative game to play. This game has souvenirs to collect, 43 fire symbols to find within the locations, 8 animal alchemy symbols to collect, morphing objects and 14 achievements to accomplish. The map transports and, if you like, will indicate areas of interest as well as objectives. As with most collectors editions, there is also a bonus chapter to play. Overall, I strongly encourage you to give this game at least a trial play to see if you enjoy it as much as I do. HAPPY GAMING! ~B
