Spirit of Revenge: Florry's Well Collector's Edition is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from AH, QUINCY MY GOOD FELLOW…ANOTHER DRINK? - Based on completed game- A good game set in England. I liked a lot of the characters in this, especially the charming, aristocratic, alcoholic helper Quincy, and the driver in the red bus who turns up intermittently and doesn’t seem to follow a real schedule! The question is, why is Florry the ghost creating havoc, throwing things around and attacking residents? Mostly your work will require you to stay in the village, but you will get to venture out to the watermill and local park garden too. One of those games that draws you in at the beginning but then plateaus out. The environment, people and objects are a mish-mash of past and present. The characters and storyline were interesting enough for me to want to complete the game. GRAPHICS: OK, but NOT GREAT. For 2 reasons, although in some places the graphics are great, in other places they are strangely flat and lacking depth. NOT MUCH LIGHT FOR A MODERN GAME! Yes it’s evening, but there needed to be more highlights of sunlight or moonlight, or lamps to make the graphics pop! I’m really glad that there are no crazy colors though ? HOPS: About 12 interactive. OK. Not stunning to look at. Oooh! There are 2 food HOPS. About 6 more in the CE bonus game, if you get the CE. PUZZLES: A few, mixed ability. SOUNDS: 4 options. The music is very good, and the environmental sounds are good too. HINT: 30 seconds on casual. Watch out! You might get a window where you can scroll up n’ down or even side-to-side. However, you won’t that! There are no indicators to tell you that, so you’ll just have to try. DIFFICULTY LEVELS: Usual 4 options MAP: Travel INVENTORY: Lockable JOURNAL: Yes, but not much in there. CHARACTERS: An interesting mix. CE BONUS GAME: If you get the CE, the story is very good, and there are more HOPS, closer together. The graphics however, remain the same and disappointing. The bonus game revolves around the mystery of the ghost Quincy. CE MORPHING OBJECTS: I found the morphing objects particularly difficult to spot, and got just under half of them! Well, have fun in Avebury, Wiltshire…and good luck on your assignment, Detective!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SPIRIT OF REVENGE 4 TAKES A DIFFERENT DIRECTION IN THE SERIES... I am a big fan of this continuing series yet I didn't think this edition measured up to previous ones. Once again, you are tasked with a paranormal case. The Red Dragon pub is haunted by a vengeful ghost. It's up to you to begin investigating why. You also get assistance with your investigation when you give drinks to the town drunk (LOL). The spirit is a woman by the name of Florry, who was killed by her husband (drowned in a well, as said), the next wife of this man covered him by telling, the missing wife would have fled town together with her lover, now Florry wants her revenge. You soon discover motives and the back story of this husband is horrific and more than enough to keep you playing to discover who to save, and HOW to save the day. While the story plot is new and exciting I can't say the same about the graphics and the special effects. Hand drawn graphics doesn't seem to work with this game, other reviewers have already commented on. The CE bling has already been described and the bonus game while fun, doesn't add anything to the main story. I remain a fan of the series even though I personally thought previous editions were executed with flawless graphic, effects, and game play. When you demo the game you will have completed enough of the adventure to decide on purchasing. I really liked the story I just wanted more from HOS, Puzzles, Graphics, voices, and game play.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I liked it I never write reviews but this game was fun it was also funny . Im not one to pay attention much to graphics or accents I just want a game I can play that is not filled with demons or devils. I dont mind a ghost or two. I would go with the SE because I got the CE on sale but their is really nothing to different about the CE. I see its on SE now I wish I would have waited a few weeks to get it but the game play is fine for me I like a game that makes me laugh.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oscar who can do most anything Delightful game with a bit of frustration. Characters were fantastic and well played out. Like the story line and plenty to do. Easy game but not for kids as you have to keep Oscar happy. Puzzles are easy and fairly good mix of HO's. Jump map and some critter action. I did not like how the collectables played out. I guess they were morphing objects though I only saw one actually Morph and the rabbit symbol led me to believe I was hunting rabbit shapes which I would have love collecting cute bunnies or even bunnies posing in clothing. Instead the collectables or Morphing objects did not make sense and did not seem to be in every scene. I like collectables but I like them to be entertaining and not just a nuisance. The game is charming and actually makes it to my to buy list. Characters in the game make it worth it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible, Horrible, Horrible I absolutely loathed this game, apart from the 3 HOS I played as they were quite good. The English accents were appalling. The instructions for the mini games were ambiguous. The graphics were awful. The helper was an intoxicated ghost! No achievements! No collectibles, except for the morphing objects. And what was the point of putting the Strategy Guide in the Extras when it is in the game. I've given it a 2 star rating as the HOS were good and I liked the cat. Not CE worthy at all. I think I must have been torturing myself as I played it for 40 minutes, so now that all my fur babies have gone to bed, I will join them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I'll wager Brenda wanted out of this case soon after arriving in England The Spirit of Revenge series has not been among my favorites as I was never compelled to buy any of its chapters. Florry's Well reaches the bottom of the barrel, or should I say well. For starters this is one of the worst drawn games in months. All of the characters have a paper doll cutout appearance. The story is a variation of a line seen many times. Brenda Gale is a parapsychologist asked to visit England since the owner of a pub famous for its good ghost ( Florry ) who has suddenly become a vengeful evil entity needs help. Ghosts gone bad has been used way too many times and there is not a spark of originality in the tale. In this game rather than a cute animal helper we get the ghost of Oscar Quincy, a drunkard who must be plied with alcohol before he elects to give Brenda aid. It turns out Florry was murdered by her husband in a jealous rage when Florry found herself a lover. Why it took so long for Florry to become evil is a mystery to me and I just don't care. As to game play, the HO sections are all interactive and are about the only part of this mess that is even somewhat interesting. The puzzles are old hat and extremely uninteresting. The town where this takes place must have a bunch of expatriated Yanks living there since ( at least in the demo ) there are lots of American accents. I did finish the demo hoping against hope that there would be improvement. Did not happen. I failed to notice any collectibles and/or morphs since I just wanted this to end. I realize that we have literally thousands of HOPAs devised over the years and it is becoming harder for developers to walk new ground. However merely changing names and faces does not put the player on a new path. Avoid this Spirit at all cost. I doubt it has a ghost of a chance of being successful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Russians faking english accents Oh dear! Yet another fake English HOP game. Accents were poor to say the least. And Brenda managed to find the only village in England that drives on the right of the road. Brenda gets on the bus on the bus right-hand side. In England we drive on the left hand side of the road and the driver on the right hand side of vehicles. Bus driver was on the left and door on the right. In any other town/city or country of the Uk, Brenda would have alighted from the bus straight into the traffic flow. Brenda pays for the bus ticket in pounds but strangly a rather odd coin, a 25 pence appears. Really? There is no 25 pence in British coinage. So rather poorly researched and with very little to recommend paying extra for the CE. It took me a while to realise that the bunny figures were supposed to be morphing objects but there appears to be little else that separates this from a SE. Plot seems very similar to many others so with all the Cod english stuff going on, I cannot recommend this game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Maybe you can drop this game into the well!! In comparison to the other Spirit of Revenge games, this one was really bad. The storyline was ok but that is about the only thing positive about it. Am VERY disappointed in this one and feel I wasted my money. I highly recommend you try before you buy!!
