Spirit of Revenge: Florry's Well Collector's Edition is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from FLORRY IS CERTAINLY NOT A HAPPY SPIRIT Parapsychologist Brenda Gale is on the job once again after being called by retired Inspector Bolton who is now the owner of a pub inhabited by an unhappy spirit. Although Bob knew the pub was haunted, its resident ghost has always been peaceful until recently. Something changed and now Florry is on a rampage and Bob has lost almost all of his customers. The graphics are beautiful and hand drawn but the voice overs are a bit iffy with some very American accents for a game that takes place in England. What I absolutely hate about this game is the very clunky user interface area that has ghostly hands and a blue vapor that surrounds the inventory. The interface seemed quite unfriendly and at times non-responsive as well as overly large and, as a result, quite annoying. If the game had not intrigued me I would have skipped this one simply because of the clunky interface. There is a custom mode of gameplay but it seems rather pointless because there are not many options available to “customize”. Your tools include an interactive map and there is a journal of sorts where information is stored. Well in a change from animal helpers we now have a ghost who is somewhat of a boozer and at times hysterically funny. As one would expect, we will periodically need to ply him with various “spirits” before he will help. The HOPS are very creative and well designed. Although the HOPS are nothing new they are quite clever and some require several steps in order to receive the item you will need to progress in the game. The puzzles are excellent and a bit different than those we normally see. I particularly enjoyed the one where we needed to purchase a bus ticket. Some puzzles are tricky but not so challenging that they proved frustrating. What I look for in puzzles is entertainment value rather than-over-the top challenge that drives me crazy. The CE version of the game has collectibles to find and if you play the demo you will notice the “trick” to locating them. The remainder of the package is the standard fluff with nothing exceptional added. If you are new to playing HOPA games then the CE is always a good value because of the in-game strategy guide. I mostly opt for the CE version of a game because I am such a HOPA addict that I hate to wait for a month until the SE is released. Aside from the very unfriendly user interface area I love the game. The storyline is excellent as we bring peace to this particular unhappy spirit. The HOPS and puzzles are what make the game quite fun and entertaining – at least for me. Although some think the game is short, it really depends on how fast you play. I tend to play slowly and take the time to gawk at all the scenery and special effects, which are wonderful in Spirit of Revenge Florry’s Well. Even though I love this game, please try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Florry's Fury James Barton has retired from the police force and is now the proud owner of the famous Red Dragon Pub. The locals all know that this pub is haunted, and have dubbed one harmless spirit, Florry. Today however, things have changed, and Florry is no longer a harmless spirit, she's revengeful! Revengeful spirits are bad for business, so James has asked his longtime friend, Brenda Gale to investigate his pub and find out why Florry is in a Fury! My favorite part of this game is my partner in crime, Oscar Quincy, one of the Pub's frequent flyer ghost who has a passion for punch, mixed with alcohol, lot's of alcohol. In fact he requires a drink to wet his whistle quite often, but he's the life of the party, well, technically he's not alive, but he's still pretty funny. In my opinion, Quincy is this game's saving grace, the graphics are hand drawn, giving the game a cartoonish fake appearance. Spirit of Revenge: The Cursed Castle (2014) Elizabeth's Secret and Gem Fury (2015) all have remarkable graphics that are far superior to the graphics in Florry's Well, and for the life of me, I can't understand why they cut corners and decided hand drawn graphics would work in this genre. Save those type of graphics for fairytales and keep computer generated graphics in this genre! The Spirit of Revenge Collector's Edition's have always had worthy extras, but this game doesn't even offer Achievements which are usually a staple item in a CE. Other than a handful of pictures, this game really only offers 44 Morphing Objects. I love Morphs, but I will more than likely pass on buying this Collector's Edition unless BF has a really big sale offer I cannot refuse. The Hidden Object Scenes are actually quite decent, although almost all of them are the same type. Most HOP's are Interactive, Progressive Silhouetted Shape Puzzles where you find the first item that matches the silhouetted shape shown, and then use that item interactively back in the scene to expose the next item and they usually have some type of puzzle to solve such as balancing weight scales using various sized weights. There are also HOP's that are more like Mini Games where you interact with the scene to find ghosts, or find missing fragments. The Mini Games are fairly easy and can be solved without much frustration. Below are some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Wake the cashier by fixing the clock and setting the correct time. First place gears correctly and then set the clock using various time increment buttons. 2) Select and enter the correct Bus Route number and then insert the correct amount of money. 3) Find Missing fragments and assemble the stone pattern. 4) Plant flowers to look like the picture shown. 5) Repair the symbol by rotating the pieces selected. Rotate, click and drag to the correct positions. This Collector's Edition has 17 VG team pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 6 Wallpapers, 14 Concept Art Pictures, 44 Morphing Objects, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, enjoy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oscar who can do most anything Delightful game with a bit of frustration. Characters were fantastic and well played out. Like the story line and plenty to do. Easy game but not for kids as you have to keep Oscar happy. Puzzles are easy and fairly good mix of HO's. Jump map and some critter action. I did not like how the collectables played out. I guess they were morphing objects though I only saw one actually Morph and the rabbit symbol led me to believe I was hunting rabbit shapes which I would have love collecting cute bunnies or even bunnies posing in clothing. Instead the collectables or Morphing objects did not make sense and did not seem to be in every scene. I like collectables but I like them to be entertaining and not just a nuisance. The game is charming and actually makes it to my to buy list. Characters in the game make it worth it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Russians faking english accents Oh dear! Yet another fake English HOP game. Accents were poor to say the least. And Brenda managed to find the only village in England that drives on the right of the road. Brenda gets on the bus on the bus right-hand side. In England we drive on the left hand side of the road and the driver on the right hand side of vehicles. Bus driver was on the left and door on the right. In any other town/city or country of the Uk, Brenda would have alighted from the bus straight into the traffic flow. Brenda pays for the bus ticket in pounds but strangly a rather odd coin, a 25 pence appears. Really? There is no 25 pence in British coinage. So rather poorly researched and with very little to recommend paying extra for the CE. It took me a while to realise that the bunny figures were supposed to be morphing objects but there appears to be little else that separates this from a SE. Plot seems very similar to many others so with all the Cod english stuff going on, I cannot recommend this game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Maybe you can drop this game into the well!! In comparison to the other Spirit of Revenge games, this one was really bad. The storyline was ok but that is about the only thing positive about it. Am VERY disappointed in this one and feel I wasted my money. I highly recommend you try before you buy!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible, Horrible, Horrible I absolutely loathed this game, apart from the 3 HOS I played as they were quite good. The English accents were appalling. The instructions for the mini games were ambiguous. The graphics were awful. The helper was an intoxicated ghost! No achievements! No collectibles, except for the morphing objects. And what was the point of putting the Strategy Guide in the Extras when it is in the game. I've given it a 2 star rating as the HOS were good and I liked the cat. Not CE worthy at all. I think I must have been torturing myself as I played it for 40 minutes, so now that all my fur babies have gone to bed, I will join them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I'll wager Brenda wanted out of this case soon after arriving in England The Spirit of Revenge series has not been among my favorites as I was never compelled to buy any of its chapters. Florry's Well reaches the bottom of the barrel, or should I say well. For starters this is one of the worst drawn games in months. All of the characters have a paper doll cutout appearance. The story is a variation of a line seen many times. Brenda Gale is a parapsychologist asked to visit England since the owner of a pub famous for its good ghost ( Florry ) who has suddenly become a vengeful evil entity needs help. Ghosts gone bad has been used way too many times and there is not a spark of originality in the tale. In this game rather than a cute animal helper we get the ghost of Oscar Quincy, a drunkard who must be plied with alcohol before he elects to give Brenda aid. It turns out Florry was murdered by her husband in a jealous rage when Florry found herself a lover. Why it took so long for Florry to become evil is a mystery to me and I just don't care. As to game play, the HO sections are all interactive and are about the only part of this mess that is even somewhat interesting. The puzzles are old hat and extremely uninteresting. The town where this takes place must have a bunch of expatriated Yanks living there since ( at least in the demo ) there are lots of American accents. I did finish the demo hoping against hope that there would be improvement. Did not happen. I failed to notice any collectibles and/or morphs since I just wanted this to end. I realize that we have literally thousands of HOPAs devised over the years and it is becoming harder for developers to walk new ground. However merely changing names and faces does not put the player on a new path. Avoid this Spirit at all cost. I doubt it has a ghost of a chance of being successful.
