Haunted Hotel: The Axiom Butcher is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frozen Hotel Homicide Haunted Hotel: The Axiom Butcher is a really good mystery/thriller detective-game for gamers who love spine-chilling mysteries! You're a detective who's had car trouble in the middle of a snow storm and the only revuge is a hotel in the distance. As soon as you get there, however, people are getting murdered! Who could be the gruesome killer? Is he the ghost of a notorious killer who's claimed several victims in the past, or a copy cat that's out for something sinister? Uncover the secrets behind the characters you meet as you get closer to finding out who the murderer is! The visuals/sounds are amazing and the storyline is intriguing and above that, realistic. I definitely recommend this game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from catch the murderer you have been asked to come to the axiom hotel to help the local police to solve the murders that are happening there. the hotel is said to be haunted by the axiom butcher who died there years ago. quite a few die after you get there and you go on the hunt. you have one person willing to help you and you meet up at different times. the murders are brutal and bloody so be aware of that. there is a custom level and the hint system will transport you where you need to go if it is outside of your scene. there seems to always be a sequal in the series!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded all my expectations! This game knocked my socks off as far as quality. The music, the story, the graphics, the games, all top notch! I hope the game developers take a close look at this one. It raises the bar as to what hidden object adventure games should excel at.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great challenge with suspense to boot! Intriguing, challenging and it keeps you on your toes! Great game and I only did the demo on both the regular and the Collector's game. Am buying the Collector's game now because I want to know "Who did it"!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IS THERE A COPYCAT ON THE LOOSE OR HAS THE AXIOM’S BUTCHER RETURNED Wow, what an amazing game that has now raised the bar for any future games in the Haunted Hotel series. I loved the beta for this game and have been eagerly awaiting its release and now it is finally here! Everything about this game is almost perfect with excellent graphics, top-notch voiceovers, and a great storyline that grabbed me from the beginning. There are interesting and varied HOPS, and fairly challenging puzzles as well to keep things interesting. Just when I was beginning to burn out on HOPA games there is now an exciting game that is geared to the adults who are interested in more than cutesy fairies and princesses. Here is a gritty game with a mature theme and some ghostly scares. It is a dark and snowy night as you are traveling a road in the state of Washington on your way to visit the Axiom Hotel. You are stopped along the way by a patrolman whose car has spun out on the road so you give him a lift to the hotel since that is his destination as well. No sooner do you arrive than things begin to happen that will test your investigative skill. The game has a cast of interesting characters one of which might be a copycat serial killer. Pull out all the stops as you solve interesting mini-games, search for clues in varied HOPS and hopefully find out whom or what is killing the guests at the Axiom Hotel. The mini-games are quite good with some even challenging. I am not going to give you all the spoilers and details since it really is more fun to find out what they entail by playing the game for yourself. There was no way I was going to be able to wait another month for the SE release of this game so I purchased the CE before even bothering to download the demo. I loved every minute of the beta and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this game. There are some creepy and downright scary moments that come together to create what I consider one of the best games this year. The game might not be for everyone so please try the demo to make sure this is a game you will enjoy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great addition to the hunted hotel series I played this game in one sitting and it was awesome the haunted hotel series has always been great and the new addition makes it much more engaging. My only complaints was that the fina chapter seemed rushed to draw a conclusion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good mystery, but bloody content Warning--blood spatter and bloody victims are commonly encountered. Fortunately, music is not too creepy, or would be really scary. If you can get past the above, this is a good sleuthing adventure game. Not too many mini games or HO junk piles, but a lot of LOCKS to unlock and find keys. A lot of going back and forth among various scenes and items encountered before, but useful later. There's a good game flow because most actions are logical and easy to intuit. Graphics are good, but definitely heavy on beige, brown and some grays. Bloody voodoo dolls abound. Has several good twists to the plot and red herrings to throw you off the track as to the true Axiom Butcher. Plot is easy to follow and makes you WANT to know who the killer is. This game seems oriented toward male players, as it is more violent than usual BF games, but it's no where near as violent as stuff out there today. Enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Who Is the Butcher? Great game with a lot going on. You have a diary that lists all the hotel guests who are trapped by the snow storm. There is the usual map, task list and hint button. The hint button on occasion transports you to a different area. The hidden objects are varied and the puzzles are not too hard. I especially liked the maze near the end of the game -- there are secret places to explore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a bit confusing I played the demo and enjoyed it but waited until my credit came to buy so this review is after playing the entire game. There seemed to be a lot of characters in the beginning and I kind of lost track of who they were, who killed them and why they were even in the story to begin with. The story didn't really justify their presence in the game. Story just seemed a bit too choppy, like what was the piano players real part in the whole story. A few loose ends here. There were plenty of HOS for those who completed the game as well as puzzles. I set both the hint and skip to recharge quickly as I'm not much of a puzzle player, but found the puzzles I did play to be not much of a challenge. Got a bit tired of running around to pick up one thing and then another but the transporter map was good and helped the game move smoothly. Colors were dark and some of the HOS were hard to find because of it. HOS were varied, some interactive, some pairing and some straight list. Voice overs were well done. Length was good, not too short or long and the end wrapped up this SE well so you weren't left hanging.
