The Forgotten Fairy Tales: The Spectra World Collector's Edition is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Alternate to HOGs Ever! I have just finished the bonus game. I have to say I really enjoyed this. Just difficult enough to make me happy without tearing my hair out. But the best thing was the new alternative to HOG scenes. I loved the triangle puzzle. I'm tired of Match-3 and the developer that uses jigsaw puzzles needs to improve since they are always the same. But this alternative was loads of fun and sometimes tricky. Funny how games can be so different - not only because we as people are different, but our PCs are different. I found the colors bright and the graphics sharp and clear. And the hint always worked. And believe me, I do use the hint since I play to relax.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chimera hidden object game It is an excellent game. For the first time a game that was easy to follow and did not frustrate with not enough clues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm loving this fantastic fantasy game! Don't listen to the naysayers!!! I can not for the life of me understand all the 1 stars for this amazingly fun, fantasy game. I'm enjoying everything about it, from the interactive hidden object scenes to the mini games and the beautiful music during the hidden object scenes! I've demoed quite a few new games lately and most of them just seemed to easy and well kind of boring this game is not boring at all! There's so much to do and look at. As usual, there is an evil queen causing chaos but we are finding out little by little why she is acting evil and who's behind it. I love that you interact and talk to many different characters throughout the game as well. The game is a bit dark so I guess it would be called a dark fantasy game but it still just so much fun!! I'm sorry but there are a lot of games out there that may deserve a 1 or 2 star but this is not one of them! I normally do not purchase the CE's because the bling doesn't appeal to me but I just didn't want to stop playing this game that's how much fun I was having! Try if for yourself I really think you'll enjoy it. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE RUGGED OUTDOORS DONE PHENOMENALLY WELL! Fantasy/Fairy Tale Available at BFG since 2017. Review based on completed main game (but not bonus). The outdoors are 80% of this game! Perspective and depth abound. We get stunning environments and clear detail! D'y ever want paths and rocks? Rocks that LOOK like rocks, with bits chipped off and moss? All that? Well, that's what you get right here. I was super impressed. Moody and mysterious. You get: rocky paths, endless mountainous backgrounds, ferns and barren trees, all manner of vegetation, ponds and water features, also volcanic and desert lands. Basically it's chock-a-block with all this good stuff. The creatures are quirky and a bit eccentric. Great! I wasn't sure about the fox though, but she was ok (nothing dangerous about her anyway). A very nicely told story. GRAPHICS - Widescreen or Fullscreen. Moody and mysterious, DETAILED outdoors. HOPS: 8 in the MAIN game and 8 in the BONUS (I was able to tell from the GUIDE that there are 8 in the bonus). You have an alternative, which is a game where you rearrange triangles to create a picture. PUZZLES: All skippable SOUNDS - with 4 adjustments: Music/Environment/Effects/Sound MAP: TRAVEL with useful indicators JOURNAL: NO DIFFICULTY SETTINGS – 4 –interchangeable HINT: Guides and leads INVENTORY – Lockable CHARACTERS: Regular interaction of a short duration. Quirky, not silly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of surprises!! I am really enjoying this game. Lots of little things that pop up or swirl around; sorry I don'r know the terminology for what I want to say... Different from the norm to me. Anyway, I almost didn't buy it as the first reviews were only 2 stars.....Try the demo, I am sure you will like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little different Don't give up on the flying eyes! The beginning (getting into the action area) is a bit clunky but the game itself has great puzzles that make you work harder. This is a great thinky game, not for kids. I'm really enjoying it and glad I bought it: lots of fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Wonderful Fantasy Game. I am really enjoying the game as I love fantasy games. It has a good storyline, the character's voices were good and the music unobtrusive. Your are given the Bracelet of Power near the beginning of the game, it has 3 coloured buttons for fire, ice and air depending on what your task is. It needs to be used 12 times in order to get the achievement for it. The map is clear and transports you, it also shows if you have found all the collectibles in that scene. The HOS are interactive and very good in my opinion. There are 33 Puzzles in the game ranging from easy to time consuming and so far I liked all of them. 10 Achievements - You can see your progress by looking in the achievements section on the main page. Collectibles: 6 Feathers 16 Beasts 20 Crystals I found both the Feathers and Beasts fairly difficult to find as they can blend into the background. The Crystals are easier to find as they are coloured and are used in the game play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm the guardian This is no kiddies game. I'm an adult enjoying a wonderful game. The VO's are done really well and the lips go right along with the talking. The characters are really cute and the fox is gorgeous. H0GS: The first one was a list with two mini games. Then there was a story book one. Then there was one where you had to find parts of a drum and put it back together. Nice variety. Graphics: Beautifully done graphics that fit the mood of the game. Mine weren't blurry at all. Music: Same. It too fit the mood of the game. Not intrusive what so ever. Mini Games: One had to take a little Mandrake root around a maze and light all the torches avoiding the orbs. Another was too put the correct rings with the correct animal heads so you could go through the door. Some other varieties as well. Yes they were on the easy side, but I didn't mind since I was tired of the ones where you had to look in the Strategy Guide for the solution. Map: Exclamation Points to tell you there's something to do. Stars to tell you you found all the collectibles, and footprints to tell you where you are at. I am truly enjoying this game and wants to see what is going to happen. kudos to the devs on a wonderful game. I highly recommend this game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better Storytelling Makes This Stand Apart I wouldn't describe the play in this game as difficult at all. I had it on the casual setting (because I don't want a massive time suck when I play these games), but I suspect the puzzles would've been more challenging, not more intriguing? It's the story arc and the general atmosphere of the world building here that made this one of my favorites in this genre as of late. I actually paused a few times just to appreciate the characters and graphics, which has been pretty rare with this type of game in the last six months. These are all familiar themes, of course, but I enjoyed the fact that the story arc makes absolutely sense within the context of the world they created (what a relief), and it's not a straight twist on a fairy tale, it's more imaginative and there's an element of it that reminds me at times of the film Labyrinth in how it mixes familiar ideas in a different way, and also elements of Japanese anime (Studio Ghibili) and games (Zelda: Twilight Princess). It captured my imagination for sure. The voice acting is really well done and I found the main character likeable and not neurotic/annoying like they often do in games where the story is about a character that is a mother and her family is in jeopardy and she always seems to be in a constant state of anxiety. I would say the CE is worth it just because there's a cute twist to having a "helper" that I found pretty delightful, as well as some fun additional characters. The music is quite complimentary, although nothing stands out, but it contributes a lot to the atmosphere. My one HUGE gripe is that Spectra is really a terrible name for the world and the game series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thought this game was pretty good I don't understand all the reviews on this game. I really liked the visuals and thought the game play, story etc were equal to or better than most of the current games. Yes there are a lot of Fairy games but it seems as though most of the games now are just repeats of a previous idea. I think I will wait and purchase the SE later but might just go ahead and get the CE if it takes too long. Don't let the naysayers keep you from trying this one. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
