Darkness and Flame: Missing Memories Collector's Edition is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully put together and an amazing game to play !!! Uncle Colin and niece Alice embark on an exciting journey...Colin has lost his memory and has vivid dreams of a woman calling out to him...he realizes that he must find this woman whom he believes will help him with his memory!!! The graphics are beautifully done and I never tired of the music...this developer did an amazing job along with their team of very talented artists !!! Good job guys !!! This game captured my interest and never let it go right to the very end...I wanted the story to go on and on !!! I hope they will release more games and adventures like this one. There were some challenging spots with the HOP's but most are very doable...and a whole lot of fun to figure out !!! I think if you choose to play the demo you'll want to see more...that's what happened to me...and I don't regret it for one minute !!! Enjoy it all and don't forget to get some sleep....LOL !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A late (but enthusiastic!) review I really enjoyed this post apocalyptic tale, where we see the results of power and technology gone amok. Actually besides the occasional radioactive monsters and giant yuckies with slime, much time has passed and the earth is starting to heal. Others have described the game so I'm just going with my impressions. One original move which I greatly appreciated is no final scene involving blowing up the baddies. They actually barely show up in the game (it's all about surviving, so there is enough conflict!) but the end is great fun nevertheless! It was great! Music: was good at times, I turned it down when it got too scary, yeah I'm a wimp. Art: Excellently well imagined and drawn. Surprisingly even though many are genetically deformed, some, like the uncle of our heroine, look pretty hot! Story: I contemplated giving only 4 stars for the very slow start. This seemed a looong game. But you can really get immersed in this alternate future landscape, which owes a bit to the "Mad Max" movies. But the story was so well told and the pace so excellent (after the beginning) I had to give it a 5. Wow two 5's in one week - maybe the games are getting better? Kudos for adding hidden mushrooms in the bonus game, which many companies don't bother to do Also I really liked that I won 6 extra brand new puzzles (Score!) and it looks like there are 20 of those bonus unscramble the string thingy puzzles, to which I am seriously addicted. Very nice freebies and well done A great game and a fresh story after the innumerable gloomy haunted psychotics that we have been overwhelmed with lately. Not that I don't like a good psycho but this was very fresh and enjoyable. So enjoy this very excellent game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YAY! ANOTHER SUPERB 5-BN GAMES PRESENTATION! TEN STARS! Anything 5-BN Games is absolute winning game play. As I've stated previously, these developers extend their best with no short cuts. Scenes, musical score, etc. are fluid and presented with exquisite quality not found anywhere else on this site. We are very, very fortunate to actually be able to tap into such enormous talent here on BFG especially when all other developers have consistently failed us. Honestly, after so many years, I maintain my membership only for these developers' next release. I only needed to play the demo for just five minutes to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Great game! Awesome 5-BN Games Developers! Thank you! Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Visual Feast The bar has been raised with respect to graphics. I was delighted to be able to beta this one and was blown away by the post-apocalyptic scenery, the smoothness of motion, and the general beauty of the art. Pros: well, yes, the graphics. The game is beautiful, imaginative, slick, and spectacular. It bears a certain resemblance in that regard (and in the dialogue) with a couple of old favorites, the Invasion series. Not, apparently, the same Dev but the same feel, and I wouldn't be too surprised to find some of the same people behind it. Voice acting adequate to good, given the awkward quality of the script (see below). Plenty of game play, interesting bonus game. Puzzles excellent, HO scenes of several different types, some even timed (there's a blast to the past). Player characters incorporate both male and female POV, as they did in the Invasion series, and it actually worked. Oh, and did I mention the graphics? Cons: the dialogue could use a lot of work. Too often it was cringe-worthy although the actors did the best they could with the material at hand. Plot got a little thin toward the watery denouement and if you hadn't played the predecessor it seemed a little short on detail. Overall, though, a truly remarkable visual experience. That blew me away enough for that fifth star. Well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rarely a 5-star from me And I should say more like 4 1/2 stars for this one as I found it a bit short in total game length and no where near the challenge of one of their other series. But what a game!! I just get sucked in to the graphics and true colors and story line. And great custom feature to turn off icon change for collectibles (now if they would just work on no plus item indicator I would follow 5Bn to the end of the Earth!) I will add that they should work on their mini-games or better yet, just forget 'em and go for true adventure logic and forget about swapping butterflies. But all in all, I just loved it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic storyline and audio The storyline, art, audio and length of gameplay was fantastic. Great value and one of the better collector's editions I've played.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mad Max on the road! Well, my first few minutes reaction would be that, although it could have been something unique entirely, the concept is completely abstract and the gameplay boring. Also, on the negative side I categorize the fact that, when you can interact with an object, until now the plus sign in the menu bar changed its color when it was "inactive" or "active". In this game, it stays a black plus sign always, even when you CAN combine it with something or even use it as it is! Frustrating... But, having played more than just a few minutes and getting past that first scenes, I say that this game has an old-school flair, which is a great thing. I also just loved the voice-over of the characters! Their micro-expressions are one of the best out there! in this genre Other notes: You must find morphing and collectable objects, as well as papyrus's. And in the bonus game, 12 mushrooms, so 12 "more" scenes! Most of its mini HOGs, don't rely in finding the correct items from a bunch, but rather in finding some items and then combining them to proceed. You'll get the hang of it, after a while. And yes, this is a Mad-Max sort of based game, so lots of fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from UNCLE COLIN HAS FORGOTTEN WHAT HE'S SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER When Alice removed a seemingly unimportant casket that was blocking the water wheel from turning, she had no clue it's contents would forever change her life. Inside this box, was a magical bird of fire, a Phoenix. The beautiful flaming bird, took a brief flight, and then flew to Alice's arm before vanishing. All that remained of the Phoenix was an imprint of the bird upon Alice's forearm! Since that moment, Alice has suffered tremendously, her father was murdered before her very eyes, by an evil man, the Dark Lord, who's search to find the girl who bears the mark of flame. The only family member Alice has left, is her Uncle Colin. There's just one problem, Uncle Colin has no memory of his past, memories that could save both of their lives in this epic battle of Darkness and Flame! This is the second game in this series, and I hope to see more in the near feature. This game is unique, the storyline is really engaging, and although some reviewers have stated that they don't like the computer generated graphics, I love the sharp lined ,crispness that only computer generated graphics can accomplish. This Collector's Edition version has a great deal of extras to offer as well. Each scene has a Morphing Object and there are several Collectibles. There are 12 Mushrooms, 8 Scorpions, 8 Dog Statues, 7 Golden Pinecones, and 7 Road signs. There are also 8 Story Capsules that allow you to read about this post apocalyptic world. Alice has only known a world destroyed by a meteorite that brought with it a darkness that consumed everything within it's path. A second meteorite arrived several years later, which reversed its damage, bringing with it fertility, and creating a lush oasis. Each collectible and capsule you discover, will unlock up to 20 Bonus Puzzles! The Hidden Object Scenes are fairly well created. There are Multiple finds, Interactive List finds, and Silhouetted Shape finds. The scenes are clear, but some items were a bit on the smaller size in my opinion. The Mini Games are numerous, but tend to be on the easy breezy side of the spectrum. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Move the butterflies into the correct positions so that each one matches the shape underneath. 2) Find the Flower pairs. 3) Set the deer figurine into the correct position. 4) Find all the hidden snake eggs. 5) Figure out the correct position of all the switches. 6) Press the flowers in the correct order so all the buds are open. 7) Play a Match 3 game with a rotating field. 8) Drive the whole distance while avoiding the obstacles. 9) Gather all the lions together. 10) Press the crystals in the correct order so they all are lit. 11) Leave the forest by selecting the least trodden paths. 12) Press the arrows to cross over all the empty cells. 13) Arrange the fish figures correctly using their outlines. 14) Remove the clouds to free the bird. 15) Press the hieroglyphics in the correct order using the clue hints. Available Darkness And Flame games: Born of Fire CE (6-28-16) Missing Memories CE (5-23-17) This Collector's Edition has 10 Wallpapers, 13 Concept Art pictures, 20 Videos, 8 Music Soundtracks, 25 replayable Mini Games, 6 replayable puzzles, 22 Achievements, 12 Collectible Mushrooms, 8 Scorpions, 8 Dog Statues, 7 Golden Pinecones, 7 Road Signs, 8 Story Capsules, 30 Morphing Objects, 20 Bonus Mini Games, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did you see the fallen Statue of Liberty? I also seen the fallen Statue of Liberty in the first game in this series. I loved this one so much more than the first. 4 Long Chapters + a Long Bonus. Eighty items to collect. Thirty of them are Morphing. I'm so happy I bought this. I Love a female Hero. I Love the respect the uncle and niece have for each other. I Love that the uncle taught her to drive the dune buggy. I Love that they respect other people's opinions. I Love the storyline. But you don't have to understand why I gave it 5 stars, equaling that I Love the game. Because this is my review and opinion. I like the collector's edition for the things to collect, guide, video and wallpaper. Some might like to replay puzzles which this has.
