Darkness and Flame: Missing Memories Collector's Edition is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remembering Played it before and still one of my favorites series. It is a improvement over the first one. One still searches around back and forth so if this bothers you this game is not for you. A longer game than most of the newer games with the bonus chapter very good with some length to it so one does get there money's worth if that concerns you. Story line is similar but different way of going through it. Voice actors are very good so is the graphic's . The animation is old school but not that much anyway. The funny part to me is some of the GQ poses the people do in the game. My sense of humor is different I guess. Very good search and seek type game. Try the free trial and if you like that this game will be for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Game, Story! I found this game interesting. I recalled the prior game as I kept playing; thou, this seemed a little different. I enjoyed the other, as well. Good story. Puzzles were not very challenging, but OK. It seems fairly long to me, lots of back and forth. I only have one small complaint, the words on the screen could stay up a little longer for those of us who are a little slower readers! Otherwise, very good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant! As awesome as the first of this series! Completed CE: Alice and her uncle have returned. This time Colin needs help to regain his lost memories after being exposed to the darkness in the past. With Alice's help and special phoenix power they set out on an adventure to restore Colin's memories and save a woman haunting his dreams. A captivating story. Beautiful scenes. A wonderful music score. Excellent voice acting. A variety of puzzles that are perfectly placed in the game. And interesting characters to assist and aid Alice and Colin on their journey. I recommend both games in this series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully put together and an amazing game to play !!! Uncle Colin and niece Alice embark on an exciting journey...Colin has lost his memory and has vivid dreams of a woman calling out to him...he realizes that he must find this woman whom he believes will help him with his memory!!! The graphics are beautifully done and I never tired of the music...this developer did an amazing job along with their team of very talented artists !!! Good job guys !!! This game captured my interest and never let it go right to the very end...I wanted the story to go on and on !!! I hope they will release more games and adventures like this one. There were some challenging spots with the HOP's but most are very doable...and a whole lot of fun to figure out !!! I think if you choose to play the demo you'll want to see more...that's what happened to me...and I don't regret it for one minute !!! Enjoy it all and don't forget to get some sleep....LOL !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A late (but enthusiastic!) review I really enjoyed this post apocalyptic tale, where we see the results of power and technology gone amok. Actually besides the occasional radioactive monsters and giant yuckies with slime, much time has passed and the earth is starting to heal. Others have described the game so I'm just going with my impressions. One original move which I greatly appreciated is no final scene involving blowing up the baddies. They actually barely show up in the game (it's all about surviving, so there is enough conflict!) but the end is great fun nevertheless! It was great! Music: was good at times, I turned it down when it got too scary, yeah I'm a wimp. Art: Excellently well imagined and drawn. Surprisingly even though many are genetically deformed, some, like the uncle of our heroine, look pretty hot! Story: I contemplated giving only 4 stars for the very slow start. This seemed a looong game. But you can really get immersed in this alternate future landscape, which owes a bit to the "Mad Max" movies. But the story was so well told and the pace so excellent (after the beginning) I had to give it a 5. Wow two 5's in one week - maybe the games are getting better? Kudos for adding hidden mushrooms in the bonus game, which many companies don't bother to do Also I really liked that I won 6 extra brand new puzzles (Score!) and it looks like there are 20 of those bonus unscramble the string thingy puzzles, to which I am seriously addicted. Very nice freebies and well done A great game and a fresh story after the innumerable gloomy haunted psychotics that we have been overwhelmed with lately. Not that I don't like a good psycho but this was very fresh and enjoyable. So enjoy this very excellent game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YAY! ANOTHER SUPERB 5-BN GAMES PRESENTATION! TEN STARS! Anything 5-BN Games is absolute winning game play. As I've stated previously, these developers extend their best with no short cuts. Scenes, musical score, etc. are fluid and presented with exquisite quality not found anywhere else on this site. We are very, very fortunate to actually be able to tap into such enormous talent here on BFG especially when all other developers have consistently failed us. Honestly, after so many years, I maintain my membership only for these developers' next release. I only needed to play the demo for just five minutes to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Great game! Awesome 5-BN Games Developers! Thank you! Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Visual Feast The bar has been raised with respect to graphics. I was delighted to be able to beta this one and was blown away by the post-apocalyptic scenery, the smoothness of motion, and the general beauty of the art. Pros: well, yes, the graphics. The game is beautiful, imaginative, slick, and spectacular. It bears a certain resemblance in that regard (and in the dialogue) with a couple of old favorites, the Invasion series. Not, apparently, the same Dev but the same feel, and I wouldn't be too surprised to find some of the same people behind it. Voice acting adequate to good, given the awkward quality of the script (see below). Plenty of game play, interesting bonus game. Puzzles excellent, HO scenes of several different types, some even timed (there's a blast to the past). Player characters incorporate both male and female POV, as they did in the Invasion series, and it actually worked. Oh, and did I mention the graphics? Cons: the dialogue could use a lot of work. Too often it was cringe-worthy although the actors did the best they could with the material at hand. Plot got a little thin toward the watery denouement and if you hadn't played the predecessor it seemed a little short on detail. Overall, though, a truly remarkable visual experience. That blew me away enough for that fifth star. Well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rarely a 5-star from me And I should say more like 4 1/2 stars for this one as I found it a bit short in total game length and no where near the challenge of one of their other series. But what a game!! I just get sucked in to the graphics and true colors and story line. And great custom feature to turn off icon change for collectibles (now if they would just work on no plus item indicator I would follow 5Bn to the end of the Earth!) I will add that they should work on their mini-games or better yet, just forget 'em and go for true adventure logic and forget about swapping butterflies. But all in all, I just loved it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic storyline and audio The storyline, art, audio and length of gameplay was fantastic. Great value and one of the better collector's editions I've played.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mad Max on the road! Well, my first few minutes reaction would be that, although it could have been something unique entirely, the concept is completely abstract and the gameplay boring. Also, on the negative side I categorize the fact that, when you can interact with an object, until now the plus sign in the menu bar changed its color when it was "inactive" or "active". In this game, it stays a black plus sign always, even when you CAN combine it with something or even use it as it is! Frustrating... But, having played more than just a few minutes and getting past that first scenes, I say that this game has an old-school flair, which is a great thing. I also just loved the voice-over of the characters! Their micro-expressions are one of the best out there! in this genre Other notes: You must find morphing and collectable objects, as well as papyrus's. And in the bonus game, 12 mushrooms, so 12 "more" scenes! Most of its mini HOGs, don't rely in finding the correct items from a bunch, but rather in finding some items and then combining them to proceed. You'll get the hang of it, after a while. And yes, this is a Mad-Max sort of based game, so lots of fun!
