Saga of the Nine Worlds: The Gathering Collector's Edition is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 80.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many negative comments...Really?... Well, I enjoyed it! COMPLETED GAME AND BONUS CHAPTER I just had to leave a good review when I saw so many negative 1 star ratings. I'm surprised because I really enjoyed it. Had loads of fun playing it. You get to go on a quest, travel the world tree, catch a glimpse of Ratatosk, hang out with Thor and Odin, fight with the dwarves, battle frost and fire giants, save the world ... I mean, really. What's not to like? IMO anyway. This kind of game is where Eipix shines. Lots of action/adventure and world-building. If you like fantasy, action, or are a fan of the MCU movies and Chris Hemsworth's Thor, then you'll probably like this, lol. Puzzles are interesting, neither too easy nor too hard. Artwork, as per Eipix usual, is fantastic. The story itself is pretty good. As the start of a new series, I hope they build on it even more. There were definite indications of later episodes travelling to other realms in the nine worlds. The Bonus Chapter continues a part of the story but isn't really necessary. It's also rather short. So if you buy CEs for the extra play, like I do, then you could get the SE and not really miss anything. Overall, it was a cool game with a fresh perspective. If you like Norse Mythology then you'll like this. Try for yourself!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from :) I Liked It ! :) Going against the tide but I for one liked it, different atmosphere and the fonts change to 'readable' after a few seconds.[the devs.I think were trying to give more atmosphere by using font that looked like runes ]...I also appreciated the 'reminder' of collectibles to look for :) The only thing I did not care for was the lack of what to do in a few mini-games but I ether worked it out or skipped it when I started gritting my teeth . The art-work, music, story-line and general environment with a little touch of humor here and there I enjoyed. Also the hidden object scenes were a nice change of pace & I liked them. Little PS ... I usually play with quite a few interruptions due to our Doggies demanding attention while threatening wet carpet if I don't respond to them when i'm playing :/ Therefore "easier games" are easier to keep up with ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Saga Above! So refreshing to get a game a cut above. This game has it all: engaging story line, great visual experience, well done cut-scenes, creative Hidden Object Scenes. I often think all possibilities have been exhausted and then we get fresh and new ones as in this game. Plus a variety of puzzles, from easy to hard. I don’t mind puzzling what has to be done and spending tons of time solving. I managed to finish all puzzles and it felt very rewarding. 10 stars for taking me out of my comfort zone and making me think, setting up fantastic scenery, filled with very fitting music, sound effects and interesting characters. Above all - a great story! Must admit, didn’t know much about Norse mythology so far, but now I’m going to dig deeper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Smorgasbord of a game! A rich buffet of multiple hot and cold „dishes“ of various game ingredients! We can enjoy a real feast with the shield-maiden in „Saga of the Nine Worlds: The Gathering“. For me it was a bit like sitting down with complete strangers at the same table, first you feel a bit uncomfortable, don’t really know how to behave, but after some time and enjoying the starters (or playing more) you are beginning to appreciate the new company and relish this game which has all ingredients of a HOPA, still is a bit different. More adventure than HO's? Different style of graphics? Decide for yourselves! In my books the opening video is nominated for an „Oscar“, should there ever be one for video game intros. I loved the bird’s view changing to human’s view, the anxiety in the eyes of the people, I felt sorry for the doll (and her/his owner) who was left behind in front of a burning house. Gameplay was smooth, graphics fantastic, the music absolutely brilliant! Although the tune for HO’s was a tad lame, I would have wished for a more catching one. I enjoyed the new twists and components in HO’s (don't want to give away too much, but the one in the giant's bag was hilarious!). The mini-games ranged from pretty easy to real head-scratchers, at least for me. But - every player has a different handicap. All of them were very well presented and none of them were frustrating. The Bonus Chapter was a good sequel to the main story, I did enjoy the extras as well. I’m looking forward to further chapters in this new game-feast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, finally it's here! Did the beta eons ago - well, early February, at least. I'm sick of the cookie cutter games that are all the same old, same old. So much so, I pretty much quit buying anything but nonograms/picross/griddlers. Then I got the beta, and it blew me away! The story is familiar - have to save the princess and the world. But the game itself is different, and the characters you have to gather to help you are certainly interesting. Not necessarily likeable, but interesting. This is not your standard HOPA, as someone else pointed out, but more of a quest/adventure game. Lots of puzzles, and not embarrassingly easy, either. There are a few HOPs, but they, too, are well done and a tad different. Wow, and a sale, to boot. Yep - getting this one for sure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a 2017 game worthy of a 5 star rating !! I was fortunate to beta test this stellar offering a couple of months ago. There are 2 aspects of the game that make this a 5 star game. First is the story which is based on Norse mythology. I am no expert on Nordic saga so I cannot attest how broadly or how loosely Gathering fits into the myth. What I can gladly say is I am overjoyed that a developer has finally resorted to something novel regarding the story. Second I am over the moon since this initial edition of Saga of the Nine Worlds is one of the most realistically drawn games that I can ever recall. Only some of the MCF games that used live actors can top this achievement in game design. I am not going to get into game specifics since I am sure other reviewers will happily fill in the blanks as to what occurs during game play. I will say the HO segments are more interesting than most and I found lots of the puzzles to be fairly easy to complete although this did not diminish my interest in the game at all. This might very well be a solid candidate for game of the year, time will tell. I do give the Gathering a most enthusiastic thumbs up for a game that far surpasses anything seen so far this calendar year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from brilliant! I love all the effort that went into this game. You can see it on everything. The music, the graphics, the runes, the wonderful drawn card of the see - and i love that you have choices, whom you are going to meet first. Chapeau to the developers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent in all repects I normally skip Eipix games finding the game play just too similar with nothing new. With this game they have excelled in my opinion. I loved it! Great graphics, story, music etc. Not a kidnapping, car accident or murder in sight! I played hard core as I like a challenge with no hand holding and this is what I got. Mini games were new and different some easier than others but gave me a run for my money. We just do not get games like Madam Fate, 13 Skulls, Ravenhearst, and original Dire Grove any more and they have tended to blend into one another. Good on Eipix for showing some originality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's about time... I'm a big fan of storytelling without the scary factor and this little gem from Eipix ticks all the boxes. Even the music was good, along with superb graphics and interesting characters. Who knew the dragon was actually .... no I won't spill the beans here. The gameplay was good with some innovative HOPs and reasonably straightforward games. It was an immediate buy for me. Thank you Eipix for something different. Vikings, gods, dragons - what more would anyone want? Except perhaps a game featuring Ancient Egypt and some pyramids and mummies......

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS ONE! great storyline in the celtic/norse gods theme ... great mini games ... and HOs ... i don't usually like the interruptions of showing how i did in the HOs, but i got a kick out of them and kept them playing ... WONDERFUL artwork and animation ... truly a 5 star game ... excellent fun factor would have included much more humor, but still a fantastic game from my favorite developer EIPIX!
