Witches' Legacy: Covered by the Night Collector's Edition is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blast from the past OK this is going way back to the 1st game "The Charleston Curse" but still ties into all the games and since it is an older game i doubt anyone would answer...there is a very slight spoiler...but its been bugging me for all of the Witches Legacy games (which I LOVE) don't get me wrong i love this game (Slight Spoiler ahead for Charleston Curse) but im confused if the soon to be witch's whole bloodline must be severed to become a full witch...how is it Wolfgang the leader of the Witch Hunters 1. did not see what was happening to his own sister 2. how as noted further in the game was he able to try to kill his sister (after she became a witch?) he would have been dead at that point since she became a witch her blood line (including Wolfgang) had to have been severed and 3.how do you start a Witch Hunter's guild after you are dead? I'm really confused about this as it seems to always be a question for me even in the newer games

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thoroughly Enjoyable I'm so glad that this game was #1 because I love the Witches' Legacy games and this one was no exception. The story line had me going from the beginning and I just kept playing, mostly without stop, until the end. The graphics were beautiful, the characters one met along the way, equally creepy and helpful, and the music didn't detract but enhanced the story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Witches legacy are you game and up for the challenge well this is a great game graphics great , storyline great in fact all very enjoyable BUT why after every scene does Loading come up, I find this very annoying, seems to take away some of the flow of the game when you have to wait for loading although only a second or two, I find it distracts from the game , other than that it is a very playable game , just something I feel was not necessary to the game why can't it just flow from scene to scene Heartblob

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great EleFun Game! I truly have enjoyed this game. Of course, the graphics are excellent which is typical of EleFun Games. Love the morphing objects and the fact I can see on the map if I found them all or not. This game is not too hard nor too easy, it's my choice. Love that! I am not an expert player, but I really enjoy a great game such as this one. I want more games like this!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fire pumpkins are just too cute. Love them. Bought this the first day and already played it twice for the main game and three times for the bonus and I Love it. I was missing a puzzle piece and was finish and it let me redo the bonus. The more I played the more I loved it. So replayed the whole game again. I Love all the Witches' Legacy games. I Love the Hops and the Imagination and the fun puzzles because there isn't a lot of puzzles I like but some are great and fun for me. I like the sameness on games in the details like the hint looking the same. Familiar. This game has 22 hops. 14 in main game and 8 in the bonus. The music is really good. Especially the credit song. Has 12 tracks. 33 morphs and I especially like this series' morphs they are common objects that turn to common objects and their not too big or too small I just like them. 36 puzzle pieces. They have them in every scene but put a few in the small open boxes. The puzzles I liked were more than normal for me. I especially liked the old school video game. Leading Jack through the clouds. Match the monsters. Select 2 elements, which is layered and ending with a simple connect the dots. Some simple jigsaw puzzles. In the bonus, a game is music related. It's a music plate call sinister music sheet and you simply put notes on the board to equal a small number on 2 sides. Felix as a boy and you place items in his 3D village to the story. Witches' Legacy is not for puzzle masters so don't play it and complain and try to kill our beloved series! Live and let live. Play and let play! My favorite hops is the Halloween treat display made by Anabel's classmates for her. It's used twice as is most hops in this game. The mice are really cute and are used twice. The bonus, has a great ancient cave hop that had some delights for me. The fan while beautiful, wasn't as fun as a list and a full art filled page. I think that the game maker was trying to please people who really don't care for the series and was doing newer things like pick the item high lighted in a story and it's not as fun as the traditional hop with a list, finding them from a art color page. They shouldn't fool with a classic for non caring people. By the way, the person with long hair is a dude. Wyrm is a Chinese Dragon. In the bonus, you have a guillotine and I couldn't connect it's use on a object. Only used Ferret 5 times I think. I like her. The bonus, has Anabel and her Ferret friend, saving friend and foe. Saving the foe may change the next storyline. And Anabel may be changing her relationship status on her face book page. Don't want to spoil it for some. But since this series doesn't have all the extras like replaying hops and puzzles or video. It does have really good morphs and puzzle pieces to make 4 puzzles. The CE vs. SV. Your choice. Big delay in scenes. Has Blood moon while you wait a second. I noticed when I was downloading that it was 1.2 G and trial was 483.87 m. Meaning a lot of data. So it's richer. I had not one glitch on my Windows 10. Had some unpleasant sounds but was short lived. Fox, crow and beating heart. Did you see the Chinese Lantern Flowers at the dorm? They have some action games and I Love that they have a Start button. It's bad when the action is going on and your reading the instructions. They have the best map. You have to see if you have all your collectibles and it marks where you have something to do and when a different area has a hop that has something you could use, this is a must. I think the owl attack could of been handled better and it was lame the way they did it. But you can't have every thing. Who puts cheese in chocolate? Not me. Better apart. ( that's on the treat tray hop)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moonlight and magic cast spell on Halloween journey A blood moon and Halloween night spell trouble for students at The Witches' University. Your character Jack is hunting for missing girlfriend Annabel and a rogue sorcerer named Felix. This villain is extracting students' powers to bolster his own. The plot is interesting to me, since it involves a sphere, something other than the standard amulet used in mystical themed games, and a strong antagonist. I enjoyed the retro arcade game and HOP, which featured lab mice in a scene with the hidden object word wrapped into the sentence. So far, I've really enjoyed the morphing objects and puzzle pieces. I like that players see an indication on the map of each scene visited where they have found every piece and morphing object. Music and voices were appropriate and fun. Each scene was very interactive. Locations came alive with creatures of the night, including three owls that screeched different noises when clicked on, and flying owl chairs that must be transformed into ordinary furniture. I have only finished the demo, but I will definitely purchase. I'm intrigued to meet even more magical creatures along this journey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Based on the Demo only I am really enjoying this game as it's relatively easy to play and I found it relaxing - there's no tearing my hair out with this game. Map - transports you very quickly. It also shows you if you have collected all the morphs and puzzle pieces. There is a Witches' Legacy Story which can be accessed by clicking on Menu (bottom left of the screen). 15 Achievements. Collectibles: 33 Morphs in the scenes. 36 Puzzle Pieces to create 4 Jigsaws. I especially loved the HOS scene with the mice in it, they were so cuddly looking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tricks and Treats under the Bloody Moon – Extras and Bonus Elefun attempts now to outrun time and released already the first Halloween game! We have autumn scenery in browns and orange, pumpkins in HOPs, pumpkins and gingerbread men everywhere. However Halloween is essential for this adventure: The incarcerated sorcerer, says the prophecy, has the only chance to free himself when the umbra shadow eclipse of the moon meets Halloween. The sorcerer's name is Felix, which means the happy one. But Felix doesn't look very happy, probably because he has to wear a feather cape which permanently reminds him of Lucy's black feather boa (Lucy from “Juicy 'n' Boozy”). The mighty sorcerer appears a bit absent and bored. I wonder why they didn't clad him in a long, black coat and gave him long, black hair, like the “Felix Figurine” which is a perfect prototype for a dark, sinister mage. Hair is a powerful fetish. No sorcerer I know would ever cut it short like a slave. A pity that this important main character is not truly convincing. The story is nothing new: catch the baddy, save Anabel and the world ... the usual stuff. But the views are captivating. Fantastic sceneries, beautiful, surreal artwoork that reminds me of Dali sometimes. Although it's mostly grey in grey, in hueless, dulled blues and greens, drab and darkly veiled. That is, except the Halloween decorations and the red moon. As we spoiled gamers already expect from Elefun, we find many clickable details. Prod the figure in the main screen to make him unfurl his wings. Click on the four owls in Felix' Castle: each will respond with a different screech, we can play a little melody. We encounter hissing pumpkins, fluttering chairs, a three-headed, mangy fox who claims to be Cerberus, a grotesque thingy with oversized claws which looks like the insect king but is a dispirited air spirit. Magical portals open with the help of gadgets: speed boots and a compass, a dreamcatcher, a mirror. Once we place a map of the earth on a pedestal, consisting of four elephants which stand on the back of a big turtle. Somebody obviously has a fondness for Pratchett :D We also have the famous Elefun hidden object surprises; books which open to a pop-up scenery, a candy box revealing a whole gingerbread house, including witches and pumpkins. Read all notes and texts you find in HOPs, they contain clues or background information. My favourite scene is the Mice Laboratory, located in a big, hollow loaf of cheese. The mice look as if they'd all wear lab coats, but on a second glance, they don't. Simply white lab mice, one of them wears tiny glasses, and they are dead serious about their sophisticated lab work. I was just a little disappointed that they don't keep caged homunculuses to carry out human subject research :D The mice are alas already the highlight. This is a solid, entertaining game, but not one of Elefun's master pieces. I miss generally a bit lightness and exuberant fun that always was a feature of this series. The whimsical wackiness, the squeaking fur balls, dancing skeletons and so forth. I wish, Elefun would stop to make games “darker” by means of darkish, depressing sceneries and by the omitting of that fantastic, droll humour of theirs. I also wish they hadn't overused that bloody moon vignette - pretty boringly drawn, if you ask me. It is constantly imposed on us, not only between scenes, but also when we zoom into a HOP or a puzzles. This game will be remembered as the Witches' Legacy with the hapless blood moon that chops the gameplay to pieces. EXTRAS: The Strategy Guide contains 46 pages. 9 Wallpapers, 3 Screensavers, the Art Gallery with 9 black and white drawings. Well, rather black and grey. 15 achievements, but 11 are for playing the game; hence it's actually only four. Will Elefun ever offer real achievements? Like playing a HOP without mistakes, finding five objects in 5 seconds and such? 34 morphing objects in main game and bonus chapter, one per scene. Find all of them for an achievement. Collect 36 puzzle pieces in main game and bonus chapter, to obtain four puzzles with 9 tiles each. We cannot go back to pick up forgotten tiles; thus be hawk-eyed during the game! The puzzles reveal a bit of background information about: - Hawk, the keeper of the 12 portals - Air Spirit who was forced by Morgana to be her messenger - Cerberus, guardian of the underworld, who serves Hawk - Old Wyrm, Morgana's clairvoyant, muted by her due a less golden prophecy 12 music tracks from my favourite BF composer. As always, we get an astounding variety; from wistful howling in a minor key, mysterious interferences, wailing synths, a foreboding piano to happy pop or dance tracks for fairies. Within the game they are, due the shortness of certain puzzles, only partly audible. Luckily we can download them and hear properly. We still can't play HOPs or puzzles again, and I wonder why not. Should be a simple thing to add them to the Extras. What's keeping Elefun? The BONUS CHAPTER plays in winter after the merorable Halloween. It has 9 scenes: six new ones, three are from the main game, but slightly altered. I came upon 6 puzzles, 7 HOPs and 2 mini-games, if I counted right. When Jack rescued Anabel, he accidently touched a dangerous vessel and is now possessed by an evil spirit. We play as Anabel and set out, together with trusty Bertha, to bring back the obsessed Jack. The adventure is quite long, was around one and half an hour for me. The most remarkable bit of the story is the end. Jack obviously planned it from the outset and carried along a ring (and didn't lose it in spite of all turmoil). As soon as the demon is defeated, in midst of the dark, grimy cellar, he falls to his knees and proposes to Anabel. The sudden surge of romance must have a reason. Perhaps a sequel with a wedding, thwarted by another of Morgana's minions? Don't miss the credits! They have one of the best soundtracks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slow to buy this one. I was slow buying this one based on previous reviews. However I have all the Witches Legacies series and I eventually bought it. I rarely download the free trials. I am pleased to say that I feel I made a good choice. I was a big fan of Lynn and I'm so so with Jack and Bertha. I felt the storyline was good and as others have remarked it followed a repetitive course in some cases. Overall my recommendation is if you are a fan of this series buy it.
