The Far Kingdoms: Garden Mosaics is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE FAR KINGDOMS ARE EXPANDING THEIR BORDERS I've always loved The Far Kingdoms games, that were first introduced as HO/Match 3 games, and then as Solitaire games. Recently, The Far Kingdoms have been expanding their borders to include these wonderful Mosaic games. Although the puzzles offered in this edition tend to be on the easy-breezy side of the spectrum, I'm okay with that, because I enjoy the relaxation factor. If you're a hardcore Mosaic fan looking for a challenge, Garden Mosaics probably won't cut it for you, but if you are new to Mosaic games, or you just want to chillax, this game will knock your socks off. Personally, I like both easy and challenging Griddler Mosaics, sometimes I just want to solve no brainer mosaics, other times I want more of a challenge, so I will definitely buy this game when I get another punch coupon. The object of this game is the same as other mosaics or griddler games, fill in the cells with the correct numbers as shown on both the columns and rows. Each group of numbers must be separated by at least one empty cell. Sometimes it's easier to figure out which cells can't possible be filled in, to reduce the possible filled cells. Some cells contain extra hints, some contain coins that can be used to upgrade your royal Garden. (you can choose the items and where to place them) If you get stuck, you can switch to another color, use an available hint, or, once the Amulet has been fully charged, you can get a mega hint which fills in four random cells for you. THE FAR KINGDOM GAMES AVAILABLE Title***Release Date***Genre***Average Rating 1-The Far Kingdoms: November 13-13 (Hidden Object) 3.1 2-Winter Solitaire: September 9-14 (Solitaire) 3.6 3-Elements: November 24-14 (Hidden Object/Match 3) 3.4 4-Age of Solitaire: April 13-15 (Solitaire) 3.9 5-Sacred Grove Solitaire: December 29-15 (Solitaire) 4.0 6-Magic Mosaics: April 11-16 (Mosaic Griddler) 4.0 7-Forgotten Relics: April 4-17 (Solitaire) 3.5 8-Garden Mosaics: October 2-17 (Mosaic Griddler) n/a This is a decent multi-colored Griddler Mosaic, that is solved using LOGIC, not by using a ton of hints or guessing, like some griddlers offered. The completed pictures are recognizable and colorful, and the music is nice, but tends to become repetitive. This game is definitely worthy of a credit, coupon or even full price in my opinion. Happy Monday Mosaic, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome, with relaxing music! I am so hooked on these "griddler"-type games and this one is a delight. This review is a bit premature because I have only just begun the trial, but I love the colors and relaxing music in this game! As always, I know it will get harder as I go, but it has a quality of mechanics (changing colors, etc.) and a Zen experience that I really enjoy. It's too early in the game for me to critique the level of challenge and storyline. I hope all you little fishies in the huge ocean that is BFG will enjoy it too!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love building and buying it is a buy for me I love this game graphics are good (for hand drawn) music is nice,But this one adds something different for the games of this kind you can buy and fix up your garden. I can only say I hope they make more of this kind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Relaxing and cute I should start out by saying I am a griddler game addict! This one is fun and relaxing. It's no penguin game, but still enjoyable. The graphics are a bit childish, and the puffy cursor was not my favorite, but I really don't care what the picture is that I'm solving. I noted a comment in another review by DearOldDad that puzzle 8 led to ambiguity - this does indeed peeve me with some puzzles but I didn't find that issue on that one, and so far, all of the puzzles have had a clear solution. Overall, fun and relaxing - not up to challenging part of the game but I assume it will get a bit harder as it goes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You build a garden in this mosaic game (very similar to a M3 series I love) Based on the 1hr. completed demo only By now, most of the M3 games allow you to build something. I am thrilled to see a mosaic game offering in-game currency to decorate a garden with paths, fences, bushes, ponds, etc. This game has some beautiful features but I felt it had some weaknesses too. - Start the mosaic boards by hitting the arrow in the lower R of the garden screen. - There are 8 sections to the game and I counted 10 mosaic boards in the first section. The entire demo, 1 of 8 sections, took me through the first 10 boards in 1 hour. This game has 80 boards, so this is a long game! - The actual mosaics you complete aren't as amazing as some I've seen. There was one called "pancakes" and I'm glad it had a title. lol - You are allowed 4 mistakes before you need to redo a board. - There is 1 choice of tile texture (plain) - There are 6 colors per board and the 6 colors are changed each new mosaic game. They could have been a bit more vibrant. - It says you start out with 1 hint per mosaic screen but the amulet icon, under the hint button, will fill as you play. - Logic based: The 10 Mosaics I did in the demo were all done by counting and I don't like to use the hints in this type of game. - It has a custom cursor but it was too large & went back to system cursor. - I turned off the music but I did like the game sound effects. It would have been nice if the graphics in the garden itself were better. I wish they’d used graphics like the QG series. However, the background art is very beautiful with full moving scenes. - Eye icon: On the lower R side is an "eye" and when it’s clicked on it will remove the mosaic grid so you can see the moving background behind the grid. The first one is beautiful with swimming koi in a pond. - Coins: you get gold coins by playing mosaic boards to buy items to place in a garden. There were no walking characters in the garden by the end of the demo but since there are paths, you may get them later in the game. This DEV has since released The Far Kingdoms Spooky Mosaics which is probably my favorite mosaic game of all time. It's exceptional, and it has a night/day feature, walking people *and* it is a super fun Halloween game. - Apparently you need to back out of the play board to "upgrade" the garden and use your gold currency. I played several boards and had 59 coins but the game didn't auto-direct me to upgrade my garden area. - Tea Screen: In the upper L of the play board there is a teapot icon. This is a screen that will be upgraded automatically every 10 boards. This game has the potential to be the best game of its type. It just needed a few minor changes that they seemed to have fixed in TFK: Spooky Mosaics. I'm so surprised when I read this was this DEV 1st try at a Mosaics game. Well done!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from could have been better I have always enjoyed the Far Kingdom games. Several I have played many times. But this one is lacking. First of all the colors. Too many seem to be close to the same. it's hard on the eyes after awhile. I applaud the developers for this, their first foray into mosaics but they need a better storyline and better contrast before this type of game play will come close to topping the king of mosaics- the Penguins. I think they can do it. I expect their next mosaic game will be better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Another Good-Looking Nonogram, But Has Flaws GoodOldDad is correct in his assertion that Level 8 needed either using a hint or guessing, a deal-breaker for me when it comes to these games. However, it's only in 'Advanced' mode that this error occurs. I switched to 'Casual' mode, and it is not apparent there because more numbers at the sides of the grid are already crossed off. This is unfortunate, as it otherwise looks a decent enough game of this genre to me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not What I Hoped For Gameplay was fine, if very derivative of the penguin series. Colours were rather unpleasantly jarring to my eyes. Lastly, the deal breaker - the description says "Puzzles based on logic" leading me to hope that finally here was a nonogram game that would not require guessing or use of hints. Wrong. The eighth puzzle leads to ambiguity for the last few tiles. Uninstalled, with disappointment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Close but not as good as Fantasy Mosaics This would be a great game for the younger players out there. The theme is for a child to help the Fairy Queen and find her tea set. The one part of the game I didn't like was trying to play the first level, there's no instruction on what you're suppose to click on to open the 1st game. With trial and error I was able to figure it out. You need to click on the 1st ? to play. I would of given higher ratings but just couldn't, but I'm not going to "Not Recommend" this game, you have to judge for yourself. I'm adult so I need better graphics, these were too childish for me, even the customized cursor was "puffy", hence too childish for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Introduction to nonograms. A good starter for those unfamiliar with the puzzle type.
