Greed: Old Enemies Returning is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from ~~~GREED 3 IS A GREAT OLD SCHOOL HOPA!~~~ We first learned of the game (Greed: The Mad Scientist) when world famous scientist Dr. Ralph Goodwin promises to unveil a miracle drug able to cure almost all types of diseases. But just one day before his press conference a mysterious explosion destroys his research laboratory. With the lab destroyed, the cure seems lost forever. You have to investigate the case with the help of a young girl named Sara. As Sara searches through the lab, she unravels the dark events of her own past. Among mad scientists and ruthless assassins will you ever be able to find the cure? Then in (Greed: Forbidden Experiments) when a new character Julia learns the sinister plans of the secret cult of the Oracles she must stop their forbidden and diabolical experiments in order to save her sister and face her sisters kidnapper. Greed is back for it's third installment; Old Enemies Returning. This time around, Dr. Goodwin has returned to his experiments in an attempt to find a cure for his son's illness. Sara Goodwin is Dr. Goodwin's daughter and she's back investigating the death of her father with help from detective Amy Turner. It's believed to have happened during an explosion that Bura Pharma was conducting but the pharmaceutical company denies responsibility for this so-called accident. The Government sends the feds to investigate who promise to restore Dr. Goodwin's lab but Sara learns of their involvement and suspects the government is after her father's secret formula. Conspiracy theorist enthusiast fans are sure to enjoy this aspect of the game as well as "the men in black" on the scene. While this SE adventure may be dated and lacks CE bling it really has an intriguing storyline. Especially if you have played previous editions of this trilogy. Sara and Amy team together to piece together the facts of this unusual case in order to find the formula of the disease curing drug. Will you be able to find the formula and save Dr. Goodwin's son before the lab is destroyed? Find out in the final chapter of this popular sci-fi series by Urchin games/ Interactive Dreamscapes! I recommend this stand-alone SE game for players of every level. Cheers! In this series: • Greed: The Mad Scientist • Greed: Forbidden Experiments • Greed: Old Enemies Returning

Rated 4 out of 5 by from THE MEN IN BLACK ARE BACK Dr. Goodwin dedicated his life researching to find a cure for his son's illness. He discovered a miracle genetic cure that could potentially cure all illnesses, but someone sabotaged his life's work, when the laboratory was completely destroyed, along with most of the genetic formula, in an explosion, in the first game of this series Greed: The Mad Scientist (November 5-2013) In Greed: Forbidden Experiments (March 23-2015) we discovered that someone in the Lab was performing unethical experiments on humans, in an effort to create super humans with super human strengths. It appeared that the two storylines had nothing to do with each other, but then again, the Men in Black have been spotted here as well! In Greed: Old Enemies Returning (January 1-2018) familiar faces enter our lives once more as Sara Goodwin asks Detective Amy Turner for help once more, when old enemies return. Since the explosion, Bura Pharma has been undergoing federal investigations into their connections with the explosion that claimed Dr. Goodwin's death. The government assured Dr. Goodwin's daughter Sara, that her father's Lab would be restored, but she has just discovered they are actually demolishing the Lab! Those mysterious Men in Black, have been already been spotted snooping around the site, has the government and the giant Pharmaceutical company joined forces? Have they returned to sabotage whats left of Dr. Goodwin's genetic code formula? This series may seem a bit "old school" to most gamers, it does have voiceovers, but there are no lip sync movements by the characters as they talk. The graphics are computer generated graphics, but personally, I prefer CG over the hand-drawn graphics, because I like the clean, crisp, sharp definition lines they offers, and the characters look the way they do because of the CG graphics. This old school style isn't for everyone, but the storyline should hold your attention, especially if you like government conspiracy theory plots, it reminds me of the Fringe series. I am disappointed, however in this games lack of collectibles that were available in the other two games. The first game had 14 Radioactive items to find, and 7 pages of Dr. Goodwins awards. The second game had 10 Oracle's Emblems and 9 missing Diary pages to find. I didn't find any collectibles in this game, but I could be wrong. I will use a PCC for this game, because I enjoyed the unusual conspiracy plots of the first two games. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Greed gone bye bye I will defer to far better people that write a good story description than I can, but as a person that has purchased the first two games, I was hoping for one equal or better. Sorry to say I am disappointed. I am tired of ghosts, demons, smoke monsters, murder stories, and witches. I enjoy sci-fi but it seems that the developers have run out of gas in ideas for this last game. So, I recommend the first two greed games for you to try. They are not home runs but a solid double that I think many will enjoy. I still play the first two greed games from time to time I still enjoy them. See if you agree.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the Way to Start Off 2018! Sara has called Amy Turner to ask for her help once again. Amy helped Sara investigate when her father, a noted scientist, was killed just before he unveiled his universal cure for diseases. He had spent years trying to find a cure for his son's illness and, just as success was almost in his grasp, he died. Amy helped Sara to investigate in the earlier case, as told in the first Greed game. The government was supposed to be restoring the lab to further the good doctor's research, but now the newspapers were announcing the demolition of the labs, apparently due to ghosts at the site. Sara won't let her father's research be lost so quickly. You both enter the restricted area to see what is really going on. (There is a second Greed game, but there seems to be little or no connection with the first and the third games in the series.) Good stuff: The computer generated graphics are crisp and the VO's sound well acted. There are the average game elements and a conspiracy story line. The game has five levels including a custom level. We find a special gun to use on the glowing green residue left behind by the ghosts as they move from area to area. You have to find a new chamber for it after each use. Bad stuff: A lot was forgiven by gamers as they played the first two games, mostly because they had collectibles and a decent story. But those games came out in 2013 and 2015. Computer games have moved forward while the Devs of this game have stayed in 2013. Added to the frozen in time game play are the odd bits that I might overlook for collectibles and a couple of better puzzles and HOPs: I pick up three batteries from the ivy on a wall and they fit into the TWO battery area of a spotlight. Inside the grounds is a worker laying on the ground. We watch as he is attacked by a ghost. Good thing he was already laying down on the job or he might have even worse injuries! You find a piece of equipment missing a tuning fork. You play twice through a nearby HOP that has a tuning fork without getting the tuning fork - you later "shoot" it out of the top of a pole on the roof using a slingshot and a paper wad. There are more moments like that, but I'll let you have the "fun" of discovery. Frankly, I wish they had tried a little harder in the two years since the last game to step up their development skills. Take a look at the Demo and see if you are ready to step back in time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Short, poor quality, disappointing So, you are again trying to save the day. This time you must stop the evil people from stealing the cure that your father wanted free for all. (I don't remember it saying what the cure is for.) The game play is very short. This is good because half the time I clicked on items, it did not register with the game and I had to use a hint, which told me to use the item I was trying to use and where it had to be placed on the screen. A lot of THAT time, I was putting whatever the item was on the right spot. The placement is very exact. And very frustrating. This is the bad quality. But the graphics and sound are good. As for the HOS. They are easy to see and find. But they get reused a lot. There is a skip, but it takes about 2 minutes to be able to skip. I didn't time it, but that feels about right. Puzzles are very easy. There is a skip function here, too, and again it seems to be about 2 minutes. The characters' mouths do not move when they talk. It's a little old school and a little dis-concerning. (More bad quality.) All in all, I wish I hadn't bought it. Bleh.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad From The Start Was looking forward to a good SE game after reading the description. I was very disappointed that I was only able to tolerate for 35 min of demo. Sadly, it had too many boo-boos. When using zoom/magnifying glass, the picture fluctuated so much back and forth that it caused eye strain and slight headache. It was so annoying! Also, there was a lot of delayed reaction and stalling while trying to collect items or use them. It really slowed the game down. There was too much to read, too much talking in my 35 min. Maybe that will change later on. The voices were okay but the lips must have been moving to another script, lol. Only played 2 HOPs, they were pretty easy and kind of boring. The graphics were clear and had good color. The storyline mentioned in the game's description should provide a good adventure, involving sci-fi and the paranormal. There is a custom play mode available. But bottom-line: Even though the storyline really appeals to me, I am afraid to purchase because of the glitches. I even tried various modes which did not help. I am craving a good SE game! All we seem to be getting are time management, griddlers or poor solitaires. I rarely post a negative review and it makes me sad! Faith....
