Fright Chasers: Dark Exposure Collector's Edition is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from I'm So Confused! I read the BFG blurb, I played the demo, I read the reviews, and I must be missing something about this game. I saw quite a few "Duh" moments in the demo that left me less than impressed. I also wasn't excited about the camera that you used to find energy balls to "see" the ghost of Anne Kilbourn. Some things were just silly: There is a brightly lighted doorway in the upstairs hall. You enter through it into a very dark room. You put a cog in a door lock and ten feet of hallway rotates, including the heavy grandfather clock next to that door. You then spend more time getting another cog to watch it rotate back. If you put the cog in the door lock, do you then jump back to avoid the tumbling clock? When you shoot at Lisa to free her from her shackles, shouldn't she at least lean away from the target? I just don't know what to tell you. The game I saw in this demo was not one I'd care to purchase due to the logic lapses and story. Please try the demo for yourself.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My Least Favorite Game from Madhead....2.5 Stars I am a huge fan of this Devs games...usually...but this was a dud, IMHO! Let's see...where do I start? Oh...the AWFUL graphics! I was really disappointed in this game's graphics. It felt as though they were in a huge hurry to release the game and didn't even finish in this department. Some scenes definitely looked "incomplete" and blurry. Colors seemed off, too. Second major disappointment were the terrible HOS, with very easy-to-spot items and no creativity. (Isn't this the main point of a "hidden object" game?) The collectibles (swirls) were also very easy to find. The morphing objects were somewhat better than the rest, but still not up to par, based on what Madhead usually delivers. I hope they will go back to the drawing board and rethink this series... As always, please try demo for yourself!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Formulaic, boring, too easy, nonsensical. SUMMARY…Based on 20 minutes of the demo, there’s nothing new to see here. Another supernatural storyline with a magical artifact. The same dull list of silly tasks. Simplistic puzzles and unhidden object scenes. WHAT WAS GOOD…The production. Madhead’s graphics, animation, and music are always top notch. But they seem to be rushing to release games with the same boring gameplay…just like Eipix has been doing. WHAT WAS “MEH”…The pace. It alternated between being as slow as molasses in January and throwing out confusing bits of plot with no background. WHAT WAS BAD…The storyline. I’m sick unto death of supernatural garbage and gimmicky artifacts. This isn’t sci-fi, because there’s no science; just fiction. The gameplay. Shaped keys, frequently broken into parts. Throwaway puzzles, like copying the lock combination and clicking to pull the rope. Time-wasting nonsense that’s neither interesting nor challenging. The one HO scene I played had an original presentation, but nothing was hidden. CONCLUSION…Madhead used to be the dev that set the bar. Apparently, they’re joining Eipix in seeing how low the bar will go…and still get people to provide rave reviews and money. Frankly, the bar is currently on the ground…and sinking. BEST GAMES BY THIS DEV (???? or better) • from this series—None; this is a new series that should die with one episode. • other game series—Dark Realm, Maze, Nevertales, Rite of Passage (The Perfect Show, Child of the Forest, Hide and Seek, Deck of Fates, The Sword & the Fury…the rest are awful) • one-off games—Beyond: Light Advent, Cadenza: Music Betrayal & Death, Dawn of Hope: Skyline Adventure BEST GAMES IN THIS STORY GENRE At this point, there are so many games with this general theme—ghost, relative left behind who’s determined to reunite, general supernatural nonsense, gimmicky magical artifact—that it would take me an hour to list them all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Another failure on the block I tend to trust my favorite devs... and I shouldn't. This game is their most uninteresting one. This time I don't really know what to say - slow ? - boring ? - miserable storyline ? Not even Alt2HOPs to make it bearable. I was quickly so disappointed that I uninstalled it from my computer. No thank you, I regret my money spent on this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One of the Worst Games I've Ever Played on BFG I made the mistake of buying this game. I played about half way through before I became so bored and disgusted with it that I uninstalled it. If you are looking for a game with ultra low quality graphics and voice-overs, this is it. If you're also looking for puzzles that a pre-school kid can solve and sketch drawings, you'll appreciate this game too. This will be my last Mad Head game purchase. I refuse to support this kind of rubbish passing itself off as a game.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What's so scary about this game? I found nothing scary about this game at all. It's also the same story and the same everything. Nothing new.
