Karma is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely the weirdest game I've ever played! Karma is strictly an adventure game. That generally means you don't get a lot of instruction. However, I found the in-game tutorial helpful enough to get me on my way. After that, it was up to me to figure out what to do. I get that a lot of gamers don't like to be left alone to figure things out, but I do. You begin as an amorphous blob in love with another blob, but your love is eaten by a dark and terrible creature. When you complain to your creator, it sends you down to a planet to be reborn and evolve to the point where you can rescue your sweetie. And this begins your journey through a surreal environment populated with odd creatures. Some will help you, while others will hinder you. CONTROLS • Click on the ground at the point you wish to move to. • Click on things in the environment to interact with them. The game will note which items and creatures are interactive by displaying thought bubbles. Often, the bubbles tell you what is required; generally it'll show you a mouse action, an inventory item, or an animation of the problem you need to solve. • Roll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. • Click and drag on the background to view areas that are off-screen. • Keep an eye on the bottom right corner of the screen, which will change from a revolving hourglass during animations to a lightbulb during gameplay. If the lightbulb lights up, click it to get a hint. • The inventory drops down when you mouse over the top of the screen. You don't take things from it; instead, the game will offer you places to put your items as appropriate. • At one point, a vortex will appear in the bottom left corner of the screen. When you click on it, it changes the environment around you to brilliant color, often allowing you to see something that needs to be done. Karma is not an easy game overall. It has moments where the solution is obvious, and others where the answer is more complex. If you pay attention to your surroundings and the contents of the thought bubbles, you shouldn't have any problem figuring out what to do. I recommend this game for those who love adventure games, those willing to challenge their problem-solving and strategizing skills, and those looking for something completely different from the daily boredom of cookie cutter HOPAs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very different but very interesting I like it very much. It is non-verbal with picture cues to give hints. There is a light bulb in the lower right corner to click on for repeat hints. there is a kind of sun to click on in the lower left needed to do some puzzles so that you can move to levels. If you liked the game "Leaves" you will like this. There is no timed limit so you can take all the time to solve how to move through this. I like the open concept and the challenge of solving things myself. You really have to think and solve but I did not find it too hard during the demo. Refreshing to have something different. I

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CAUSE AND EFFECT, THAT'S KARMA I love a good adventure, especially one that requires me to figure out what to do instead of just blindly clicking on a game that practically plays itself. Karma refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect) What an appropriate name for this beautiful love story! This is a game about cause and effect, actions, and reactions. Karma is one of the strangest games I've ever played, and it's not an easy game at that. If you are looking for a game that challenges you every step of the way, look no further, there's no hand-holding here, no hints (sort of) and only basic, minimal instructions provided such as how to move, zoom in and out or search around. When I first started playing this game, I thought it was going to be bizarre and boring, I was right about the bizarre part, wrong about the boring part, and after finishing the demo, I knew this was going to be a game I had to see through. The only advice I can give you is to pay attention to details, pay attention to the images shown, pay attention to what happens when you interact with objects, it's probably going to help you progress, and sometimes you have to go backward to move forward. On the bottom of the screen, there will either be an hourglass or a lightbulb, the hourglass turns over during cutscenes as your "soulblob" moves to the next scene or destination, the light bulb allows you further insight, replays hint solutions etc. but in no way shape or form gives you the entire solution, just enough of a nudge to make the lightbulb above your own head light up for an "aha" moment. Inventory items are added automatically and are usually shown above the object or creature that they can be used on, but again, you'll still probably need to figure out some aspect of the where's, why's and how's. Play around, click on just about anything and everything, it's a weird game, but quite beautiful at the same time. Thanks, Felix! You're finally spreading your wings to bring us genres that out of your comfort zone. These adventure/puzzle games have been sorely missed by a lot of gamers, it may take a while, but if you build it, they will come...it's Karma!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Creative, a little trippy, and a lot of fun This game is not the usual stuff, visually interesting, and kept my attention for the whole demo period. I found the picture hints helpful, and with a little curiosity and poking around was able to progress easily enough. I love finding these oddball gems! I next to never write reviews, but felt this one deserved a little love.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I so wanted to like this game. . . I wanted to like this game. Beautiful visuals with lots to see. There is probably lots to do as well, but I could not figure it out. Yes, there were these little thought balloons that were probably supposed to help me determine what to do next, but when I followed through, something usually died and I went back to square one. I spent ten minutes trying to advance and then gave up. This old gal needs some kind of instructions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cute Graphics Adorable animations. I loved them! But, that doesn't make a game. I had NO idea what was going on. I didn't see a story, maybe I'm just not good at figuring out these kinds of games. The hint shows you what you need to do, but as is usual for these kind of puzzle games you can't skip ahead or get any REAL help! You have an inventory. I used my spiky thing and curler (I loved the illustration showing us what the curler was!), combining them without even knowing how I did it. I guess the curler was a disguise for the spiky thing? Then, I did get the eye-whatevers to form the lotus-lady, and the cave to the right opened up. 8 minutes in, and that's where I quit. 8 minutes because I didn't know what to do, it was probably less than 1 if you understood! It probably took me 7 just to get over the gap. Very, very cute game. I disliked it because I couldn't figure out what to do. It's not Big Fish usual, which is fine, but I'm not sure us HOG or TM fans will want it! It's the sort of game I see a lot of elsewhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Another in a line of games that could be fine if only meaningful directions were afforded I decided to give Karma, a soft release, a shot since the stills shown in the introduction looked so cool. A slow download told me the game was either very primitive or that there is so much to develop that it takes time. It turns out that both opinions are correct with emphasis on the primitive. Karma visually comes from way out in left field and that might be wonderful. The major downside that the player learns from the very beginning is there are absolutely no worded directions on how to proceed. The initial cut scene shows a couple of love struck blobs smooching. One of them is eaten by a creature straight out of JAWS. It isn't dead though and the other blob is now tasked to find and rescue it. The only way our little blobber can advance in bizarro world is to overcome obstacles in its way. We get pictorial instructions only via bubbles such as found in cartoons. I was able to get through a couple of them and then was faced with a group of rocks and the blob must touch adjoining rocks until it reaches a new level. Unfortunately I spent 5 minutes and never advanced. This is where worded instructions would have been nice OR a skip be available. NO GO. So goodbye Karma. I realize other players will find the game much more manageable than me. I really wanted to like the game but the lack of assistance when needed brought me to my knees. Developers should not ask audiences to think so outside the box that it becomes necessary to mind meld with the developer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Simply Awful This game is horrible. All you do is click on little bubbles above the head of some weird creature. That's it. I made it less than 5 minutes into the game and I was already bored to tears. What is the point of this idiotic game? I would NEVER waste my money on such trash. I started thinking maybe it was a game for preschoolers so I let my 3 year old grandson try it and even he was bored.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful game but way too confusing I was so looking forward to playing the demo because the visual looked wonderful. But trying to navigate this game with no dialogue and no understandable cues - after 10 minutes of being completely mystified and going around in circles, I gave up. I simply couldn't follow what was going on in the story. Very very disappointing - I wanted to LOVE this game because it looked so different and so intriguing. I'm sure it all makes perfect logical sense to the developers but the rest of us really need some direction.
