Chimeras: Blinding Love Collector's Edition is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from ~CHIMERAS: BLINDING LOVE RECYCLES SOME HOPA TROPES BUT STILL REMAINS HIGHLY ENTERTAINING.~~ Travel back in time to Paris in the 1800s, when the traveling circus industry was thriving. A series of young men have been found blind and paralyzed and all of them seem to have been associated with Adalinda, the star of Chimera Magic – the famous traveling circus. You have been called in to investigate this strange case. Can you solve the puzzle or would you too fall for Adalinda’s deadly charm? I remembered being blown away by the first Chimeras game – the originality and the entertainment value of that game were top shelf. Unfortunately, the series seemed to have experienced a decline from then on until this edition. Chimeras: Blinding Love is the latest installment in this series and for once, a quality addition. The plot of this game is not revolutionary by any means, but it is engaging all the same. Moreover, the characters are memorable and the story progression is perfectly-paced. The sights and sounds in Chimeras: Blinding Love are up to Elephant Games’ usual industry-leading standard. The computer-generated graphics look stunning and the animations are as smooth as ever. The background music varies in intensity throughout the game in relation to the events happening in the game. The music and the voice-overs are both solid and never feel out of place. Gameplay wise, Chimeras: Blinding Love does everything right. The adventure part of the game is satisfyingly fast-paced and extremely enjoyable, the hidden object scenes are beautifully-crafted, and the puzzles are creative enough to maintain our interests. However, Chimeras: Blinding Love does not venture outside of the safe space. As fun as they are, the hidden object scenes and the puzzles would benefit greatly from some risk-taking and more challenges. For me, the main game of Chimeras: Blinding Love came in slightly short at three and a half hours, while the bonus chapter made up with its 70 minutes length. The Collector’s Edition is packed with a plethora of extras; wallpapers, concept art, screensavers, a strategy guide, achievements, collectibles, morphing objects, and a secret room. I appreciate the originality and the quality that went into the development of this continuing saga. I hope Elephant continues this trend for fans and new comers too. Cheers! •Chimeras: Tune of Revenge •Chimeras: The Signs of Prophecy •Chimeras: Cursed and Forgotten •Chimeras: Mortal and Medicine •Chimeras: Mark of Death •Chimeras: Blinding Love

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Full Value On This One Best entry in the series so far. This one was puzzle packed, coherent, and with a long, wonderful bonus game. Definitely CE-worthy! Pros: Gorgeous graphics, excellent voice acting, straightforward plot, and plenty of puzzles, some quite original and some original twists on old standbys. Certain were quite challenging, none of them impossible. Cons: Minor, really. The villains were sketchily drawn, and the music, although quite beautiful, needed a little more variety. Overall, a really top-notch entry with plenty of challenge for an intermediate or advanced player. Lots of game play, generous bonus. And great puzzles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love is Blind? or True Love? This game was a bit short but awfully sweet, a true love story, it kept my interest to the very end., As always there is morphing, collectible cards and puzzles to collect which I love in the game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't let this one pass you by! I have nearly 100 games on BF and rarely post reviews but this game is awesome! I enjoyed the storyline and the puzzles were a lot of fun, even challenging at times. This game definitely kept my interest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great addition to the Chimera collection! After finishing the demo, I know I'm buying this one! I have all the others in the series, and this one did not disappoint me. I love the story line, the graphics are great, as always, and I like that it goes into story mode once in a while. If you liked the earlier ones, don't hesitate to try this one!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look into my eyes – be careful, could be your last sight! We are in Paris, according to many ‘the city of love’. Our client is Mme Marie, who is worried about her son Julien. He recently became obsessed with a beautiful dancer at a traveling circus. He went so far, as to plan to elude with her and even stole pieces of her jewelry on that behalf. But then he was found in an alley near the circus: blind and paralyzed. And: he is not the only man, who was blinded. As there are no apparent injuries, may something paranormal be at work here? Julien is no help. We are on our own in finding clues and visit the circus. The main attraction there is the fiery chimera and the dancer in the mask, Adalinda. We may see her, but she and her guardian trick us and trap us in the wagon. There we find out more about her: she was always with the circus and Jean-Pierre, the strong-man, became her guardian, as she had no other family. Is it Jean-Pierre, who hurts the admirers of his protégé? But no, the men had no apparent injuries. It is striking, that Adalinda always wears her mask. So is she cursed to blind the one, who looks into her eyes? The introduction makes clear on the spot, we have the masked girl and all men, looking into her eyes, even accidentally fall blind. But she may as well be the perpetrator and a victim at the same time. We go through a well made scenery, solving many nice, not too challenging puzzles and mini games. HOS are mostly lists, varied but nothing new. There are collectibles and the story is told in 4 chapters and the bonus. All in all an attractive addition to the Chimeras series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BLINDED BY LOVE FOR THIS GAME AND MENTALLY PARALYZED BY SOME OF THE PUZZLES REVIEW BASED ON THE ENTIRE GAME: - Time: 3 Hours 4 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 36 Pages OVERVIEW: Love is in the air Detective – as you find yourself at a Parisian circus investigating a bizarre love story in this Harlequin-esque romance game. You have been contacted by Marie, a spurned mother, whose son, Julien, has been enchanted by the wiles of a masked, dancing chimera, Adalinda. Lovesick Julien is obsessed with this creature. Blinded and paralyzed by her stunning beauty, he is now physically blinded and paralyzed as well. His mother fears this woman is somehow behind her son’s misfortune. Investigate Adalinda, the dancing chimera, her protector, a hunchback named Jean-Pierre and discover the underlying cause for Julien, along with many other men, to become physically blind and paralyzed. All of them have ties to Adalinda. However, is she to blame or are there other forces behind all these transformations? This is a puzzle-intense game! The main game is SHORT; however, the bonus chapter is lengthy. However, for me, it is always quality over quantity and this is a QUALITY GAME! I feel the game is better after the demo. The plot takes a twist and the story branches off in another direction. This is a great game for those who love romance novels. The graphics well-reflect the imagery of the circus and romantic pinks and purples abound in the graphics. Even if you hate these colors, the scenes are beautifully illustrated. There are quite a few collectibles including morphing flowers, cards about chimeras, and jigsaw pieces for three (3) puzzles to be played at the end of the game. I found them easy to locate. With an excellent pace, creative story line, and plenty of activities within the game, this is another great game for Elephant. My only complaint is the lack of the ability to replay the puzzles and HOP scenes. I enjoy replaying puzzles and wish the developer would include this within their games. A few of these puzzles are DIFFICULT! BONUS CHAPTER: The bonus chapter continues the story but with a different cast of characters and a different storyline. In this case, the detective must help return a spellbook to the Chimera Society which has been stolen by the Cobra Society. I am still playing this chapter, so information about the puzzles and HOP scenes is not included. HOP SCENES: There are only eleven (11) HOP scenes in the main game. The game has the usual scenes found in Elephant’s other games. They are somewhat interactive. They include the usual storybook scenes, lists of items and silhouette items. There are two multiple-step ones which has you locating four of one item which opens a list of items. This scene has been used in many games by many developers. There is one unique one which has you searching for musical notes. WHAT WAS ELEPHANT THINKING WITH THIS HOP SCENE? FEED THE ANIMALS: Returning to pre-school, locate items and then feed them to the proper animal. I could not believe they put this HOP scene within this game. Really, Elephant? PUZZLES: There are thirty-one (31) puzzles in the main game. The puzzles are varied in style and difficulty. There is good mix of easy puzzles with more difficult ones. I found the puzzles better designed than the HOP scenes. Elephant always provides many jigsaw puzzles in their games and this one is no exception. There is one super puzzle as well with three consecutive puzzles. Here are a few which I found within the main part of the game: A. Maze puzzle. Place 8 directional arrows on a grid with 42 squares so that a sun token passes through every square of the grid. All arrows will be used to direct the token. B. Memory puzzle. Look at a spread of 8 cards uncovered. Once they are covered you will be given another card face up. You must remember and choose the covered card to match with that card. C. Locate the differences puzzle. Locate the differences between two seemingly identical pictures. D. Paint-by-number puzzle. Paint a picture by matching up colors to symbols. E. Maze puzzle. On a large wheel with many twisting paths, choose the correct path for each of 7 tokens so they end up with the matching token at the end of the path. F. Map puzzle. Chart a route through the forest by choosing the right path and locating objects to help overcome obstacles in your path. 3 Map scenes. G. Super puzzle. (1) Maze/Logic puzzle. Move a spider through his web by rotating four circles to create a path for him to escape the web. Spider can only move on certain spaces so you must strategize your moves. (2) Sequence puzzle. Choose flower buds in sequence so they all stay bloomed. (3) Matching puzzle. Push aside leaves to match up items. H. Modified Chess puzzle. Move a knight on a 16-tile board in the usual “L” shaped moves until the knight has landed on all of them. This one is easy as you can retrace your steps. You can land on a square as many times as possible to light up the square. I. Logic puzzle. Place 10 statues in a case with 10 openings. Using a given guide, place them into the right position by color. J. Awesome Brain Crusher! Gear puzzle. In a large grid, switch gears so that there is a continuous line from upper left to upper right on the grid. 2X This puzzle is a little toughie! My brain is now fried! K. Rope puzzle. Untangle rope so none cross each other. L. Maze puzzle. Using envelopes, move a coin from upper right to lower left by rotating the envelopes so that the open side receives and dismisses the coin. M. Variation of a Match-3 Puzzle. Remove like tokens by 3’s and 4’s. Removal of four of the same token will leave a pink stone. Remove the pink stones. Each time you remove 3 pink stones, part of a picture in the middle of the grid is filled in. LEVELS: Casual, Detective, Super, Custom Hints and Skips: 15 to 90 seconds EXTRAS: Map is given to you at the beginning of the game. 24 Achievements Collect 12 collectible cards recounting the history of chimeras and 36 jigsaw puzzle pieces for 3 puzzles at the end of the game 27 Morphing objects – flowers 11 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art, 3 Screensavers, Music, Secret Room

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Going to the circus! Wow! Talking about improvement and that was an overall one. You get to collect cards and morphing objects in the form of a rose, not very easy to spot though. It is really fun to play this game, both gameplay-wise and from the puzzle perspective. The artwork needs an even more refinement, in my opinion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a Beautiful Game in Paris I really Loved looking at this game. Bright and soft Colors. Fire Orange, Crimson Red, soft purples and pinks. At least on my HD Led monitor. Lots of beautiful details. It's a work of Art. The details- Phillippe's house chandelier, Traveling Circus double decker trailer, Adalinda's trailer hanging stained glass lamps, Museum hall vase, Mechanical mouse and detailed pencil sharpener. I liked the story and game play. I disliked too many puzzles in this game. They are the ones I don't like at all. Maybe puzzle lovers would like them. I skipped 19 of them. These I won't even use the guide for. I'm not a beginner. Been playing since 2010. Just not into these puzzles. I don't play for the puzzles and that's why I choose from the Hidden Object Category. I have all of the Chimeras' and Liked all of them. There are only 9 Hops in the main game and 5 in the bonus. Two of the hops in the bonus only had only six items. The Achievements are outlines of 22 circus performers. The best outlines are for the mini-games so I didn't get any of those but have the rest. This is nicely done. The Secret Room has replayables- 14 Hops and 13 Mini-games. Also a Secret Game which are morphs confined to 4 rooms. It's timed. 4 Adalinda pictures, 8 Jean-pierre figures, 12 croissants, 16 oriental lilies, 20 pigeons and 1 chimeras. This was a great idea. I think they should have made it better. The morphs here are so small, so slow and faint. People wanted harder well here it is. It was so frustrating. It took me over 46 minutes to complete. Even clicking hint and it wasn't visible. Only the spot. I would see one and wait for it to morph again and you just wait and wait. I adjusted my Brightness/Contrast on my monitor and it didn't help. I'll take in plain sight any day over this. At least that would have been fun. This should be fixed or patched because it's so wrong. I want to enjoy this. The Morphing flowers in every scene (27) were a joy. Collected 12 Cards which has info referring to the past five games in this series. Collected 36 puzzle pieces which in the end you put 3 puzzles together to make screensavers. The old guides are very detailed and complete, even including Hops. Lately most guides have been lacking, which is sad. I think the guides need to step it up. This one didn't say what color square belonged to which collectible. I figured it out. But I shouldn't have to. It's a CE standard and we pay more for it. Only 4 Chapters + Bonus. The Circus is the second Chapter. I couldn't listen to the same music for long before I turned it off. Which I do in most games unless I really like the music. Still can't listen to the same song for hours or same song for every hops. Why make it even louder on the Hops? Still with all my complaints, I liked the game. Please try it for yourself.
