Hidden Fears is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recomended to all HO fans! To make something scary out of a hidden object game is quite the accomplishment. It is a genre that tends to be nearly devoid of animation, after all. And yet, somehow, developers from Rosen Studio have managed to craft a deeply unsettling, impressively scream-worthy experience with Hidden Fears - a title that delivers more frights than some of the most expensive horror games out there. The game values suspense and paranoia over any other horror cliches, using its engrossing puzzle gameplay to draw players into a world caked in the stench of death and the macabre. Before long, Hidden Fears will have swept you into its environments, leaving you entirely vulnerable to its toybox of scares and spooks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shop til you drop Good combination of hidden object and mind games. Can be played in normal or advanced mode. Fun minigames. Especially enjoyed the Exorcism scene. One suggestion for a sequel: Let the player have some decision in how the heroes looks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! Gripping spooky and fun! I found it to be both captivating and nostalgic. I enjoyed the added horror element it was like I was immersed in a game meant for Edgar Allen Poe! Good job... I hope there will be a sequel!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not so ordinary HOG With the success of films like the Saw and TV series like Supernaturals, it seems that spooky stories are at an all time high in terms of popularity. Capitalizing on this trend is Hidden Fears, a new hidden object game from new devs. But instead of being simply yet another HOG, Hidden Fears is actually a very solid and entertaining experience for the brief while it lasts. Pro: Solid puzzles, entertaining ghost challenges, stunning grx, sound effects make the game truly spooky Cons: Sometimes long cutscenes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from not your average hog :) at times, playing this, i felt overwhelmed with the difficulty in some of the puzzles. but there is a skip button and a jump map. there is not much of a quide to speak of either. i used the hint button a lot as well. but that's the negative stuff. the graphics were wonderful and the gameplay cerebral. this is not a game for kids, like so many are. the storyline we've all seen before, but this did not detract from my interest in the game. the best part is that i was never bored and i was sad when it was completed. i highly recommend hidden fears to anyone who enjoys a challenge with a very spooky atmosphere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lots of hidden charms amongst the cutscenes. SUMMARY…Based on 34 minutes of the demo, this game has some excellent puzzles and challenging FROGs, but the frequent, long cutscenes and horrendous voice acting make immersion difficult. WHAT WAS GOOD…The puzzles. The few I played were relatively challenging, not solely because the instructions were lacking, but also because they were well-designed. Once I was actually able to perceive what the goal was, it took some effort to achieve it. The FROG scenes. Most of the fragments were well-blended into the scene, making them difficult to spot. I’ve always liked FROGs; they make a bit more sense than a list of unrelated objects, IMO. Note that you can leave FROG scenes to acquire items you need within the scene (which will show up in the box between the fragments). WHAT WAS “MEH”…The production. Not awful, not great, just “meh.” I disliked the flickering meant to represent a poor video recording. I did like the ambient sounds; they accented the creepiness. The gimmicks. Apparently one wasn’t enough; I got two: a flashlight with which to “battle” ghosts and a radio, function unknown, but alleged to somehow interact with the spirits. The game mechanics. A bit finicky, often requiring multiple clicks to get it right. The storyline. Sort of a version of Saw, with the villains requiring the hero to perform dangerous tasks to save his wife. But I would have liked a bit more explanation about why this particular couple was chosen. Maybe that comes later in the game. WHAT WAS BAD…Endless cutscenes with a delay between the different characters speaking were seriously frustrating! There’s no “continue” icon, so you either have to skip them and miss essential storyline elements, or suffer through them. The voiceovers were clearly done by self-conscious amateurs; the affect was unrealistic and the melodrama level was high. CONCLUSION…I dislike being overly critical toward new devs because I think this industry badly needs new blood. Given the design of the puzzles and the well-done FROG scenes, I think this dev has a lot of potential, so I tried to be constructively critical. I am curious about the storyline, so I may pick this up with PCC. And I recommend trying the demo.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hidden Fears The game was strange . Did not care for the follow the arrow when fighting the ghost or just the whole part of fighting the ghost. Was not that impressed with the game as a hole it is not a game I would buy. All thought others my like the game. The HOS were not that great hard to see what i was looking for in them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hidden Fears: will this game be fun? This is based on the demo. There two modes of play. People's lips do move and there is text. Two things that are con: In hidden object scenes, if you click more than 3 times without finding anything, the screen goes dark for a second or so. Next: When battling a ghost, you are asked if you want to quit the battle early. When you say "yes," it doesn't work. Also the skip doesn't work. It might be a fun game if you are patient. You also have to leave a hidden object scene to obtain an object for it, which I didn't like. I may get it using a free code. I'll check the recommend game, but only, again, if you are patient.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from HIDDEN FEARS IS KINDA LIKE A B RATED MOVIE THAT YOU WATCH TO THE END THINKING SURELY IT GETS BETTER! This is one of the strangest games I've ever played, and quite frankly, I'm not sure how I feel about it!?! The plot reminds me of the Saw movies, because the main character is asked to do things that are potentially harmful, if he wants to save his wife. It's not really as gruesome, but there are some references of violence. Confused? Me too! The graphics are strange and annoying with a constant flickering feature that's supposed to represent surveillance video footage, and that's without the optional "film grain" feature. The colors are all very basic, with hues of grayish green, but I'm okay with that because it helps set the atmosphere. The characters voices are atrocious, and the script is poorly translated. The game mechanics are slow and clunky, items often require you to click on a specific area. The hint system is basic and fairly worthless, the black bar tips are vague, and the map is as basic as they come. (it does however allow you to quickly jump to another area) The tutorial needs a tutorial to explain the tutorial! The Mini Games have the worse instructions I have ever seen.......and yet...... There's a certain appeal to this game. The lack of basics we've grown accustomed to, gives me the desire to continue. I'm not sure if this game is designed this way on purpose, to add more challenge, or if it's just another low budget introduction game, a one and done kind of game, created by a couple of guys one weekend. Just like a B rated movie you can't stop watching because you rationalize that it surely gets better, my mind keeps telling me to stick with it, surely it gets better. The story begins with newlyweds, Faith and Tony, receiving an invitation to spend their honeymoon at the Creek Falls Mountain Resort. The invitation paints a picture of a beautiful, luxury hotel, and apparently they had made no other honeymoon plans, nor did they bother to do some research on Creek Falls, before packing their bags and heading for destination unknown! You guessed it, the actual resort looks nothing like the picture on the invitation, surprise! Things go from bad to worse, and Tony is faced with the reality that he must make life or death decisions, to rescue his wife from the former residents of Creek Falls. Let the games begin! Bottom line is, this is a non-linear game with a very interesting story line. There is no hand holding, it took me a while to realize I had to exit the FROG to search for a sharp object and then return! The flashlight feature drove me nuts, and I nearly lost my mind trying to figure out the first Mini Game, because the instructions were so bad. (but I did eventually solve it!) This is the kind of game most will either love or despise. For me personally, I'm on the fence, I'm not sure I can put up with the flickering graphics, and horrible acting. On the other hand, there's something about the story line that urges me to return to Creek Falls to face my Hidden Fears!
