Travel Mosaics 5: Waltzing Vienna is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from JET DOGS STUDIO DOES IT AGAIN!! I LOVE THE TRAVEL MOSAICS SERIES! These people are designing these games faster than I can save up my money to buy them!! Besides the 5 "Travel Mosaics" games, they have produced "Shopping Clutter" and "Kids of Hellas" recently, as well as the "Alicia Quartermain" series and "Archimedes" game. They are super game designers!! In the "Travel Mosaics" series games, you get to not only complete their delightful puzzles, but listen to lovely music and read a paragraph about the history of the place you are visiting! I wish I had more thumbs so I could give them "10 thumbs up"!! Way ta go!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS IS A "JUST ONE MORE LEVEL" KIND OF GAME Travel Mosaics has done it again, bringing another fantastic Griddler Mosaic to the table. This is one of those addicting games where you find yourself saying, just one more level, it's hard to stop playing! I didn't realize that on the last game, JetDogs added 4 other options to chose how the crossed off number cells would look, which was my only complaint, and for that, I apologize to JetDogs, and those who read my review :( Besides the 5 options for crossing off cells, there are 5 Tile options to choose from, my favorite Bubble look, a Square with rounded corners, a Princess Cut Diamond shape, and a multi-faceted tile and a lunar-style. You can play in an Easy mode which crosses off cells for you and applies the appropriate colors, a Normal mode where you have to cross off cells that aren't available, or Difficult mode which only crosses off squares when the entire row and column has been completed. As you fill in tiles, you will earn coins, lives or Power-up recharges. Power-ups can be upgraded twice from the initial base, and you can also buy various Souvenirs in the Shop. There are Power-ups such as a Hammer, Sun, Lightning and even a Bomb, which start out with very little area coverage and increases with each upgrade. There are 7 Achievement Trophies to earn as well. Each of the Locations has 6 main levels, 1 bonus level, and 1 additional puzzle (jigsaw variations) You must earn at least 2 Stars on each main level to open the bonus level, and you must earn a minimum of 2 stars on the Bonus Level to open the additional puzzle. You also have to earn at least 1 Star in each of the main levels to unlock the next location. Each level starts with 2 Hearts or lives, and as you fill in cells correctly you will earn more Heart Lives. There is a Book icon on the bottom left that gives a brief description of each location, which will come in handy if you make too many mistakes because you will be asked some questions about the locations as a chance to earn another chance to play. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun game I don't have any of the other games in this series. After falling in love with Fantasy Mosaics & Rainbow Mosaics, I tried all the mosaic games, and I don't like any others I've tried. This one has very familiar controls and hints/bonuses, so I didn't have to get used to something else. I like the fact that you can change the look of the "x" squares, and even choose a dark background if you want. So far in the demo it's not all that challenging, but most games start out easy, so fingers crossed. There are only a couple of things I don't like. There's no name to any of the images, so you don't always know what they are! I know that the DOING the puzzle is more important than what it is, but I do miss that "Oh, *that's* what that is" moment. Also, there are different games at the end of each page, where you switch tiles around to create an image. I guess this is instead of buying decorations, which is fine, because I don't really care about that, either. The first one I did stopped letting me switch tiles before I was finished, so I'll probably skip all the rest. Fortunately, you don't have to do them to unlock the next level. Anyway, I did decide to buy this one, so I figured I'd review it while I was here. If you like mosaic games, definitely give this one a try.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This version also has jigsaws & too many similar colors I played about 30 minutes of demo. I just played a full hour of Version 4 and could not bring myself to do the full demo on this one. I really WANTED to like this game, but I just can't. (Same pros & cons apply to version 4.) CONS: 1) Does not name the image when done, which at times is tough to figure out. 2) Do NOT like jigsaw puzzle levels especially with no option to skip them. If I wanted a jigsaw game I'd have played one. 3) Many levels have too many similar colors - some levels WAY worse than others. PROS: 1) Offers various levels, including "easy" level with no need to manually change colors yourself. 2) Colors bright and images pretty. 3) At least during demo, logic always worked so no guessing. (Even penguin series has this flaw now and then.) 4) Advances pretty quickly in puzzle sizes. 5) Do not like default big black dot being used for background squares BUT if you click the DOT itself at right side - you can change it. (I missed that in version 4 because it didn't seem obviously changeable.) 6) Like that you can change the "style" of the colors, such as flat without a pattern, a gem pattern, reflective pattern, etc. IF no jigsaw levels and a lot more variety of colors, I would recommend this game. (The other "cons" were not deal breakers - just these two.) But I could barely play an hour so there's no way I could play longer and enjoy it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not much of a challenge... may be a good time waster for some and also ok for smaller kids. However, half the time I was just filling in the blanks without having to do any puzzle solving. A few of the puzzles were puzzles, but most were not. Further, a great many of them are symmetrical, which also removes some of the challenge. One other thing of note I found that with several of the final pictures, I didn't know what it was (and it doesn't tell you. I wouldn't recommend this game, if asked.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Maybe Vienna is just boring. I was so excited to see a new game in the Travel Mosaics series that I bought it without even playing the demo. It is very similar to the previous games that is just fine with me. However the level of challenge seems to have dropped. It makes me think the original developers gave up making the Travel games and now another group is making the games. Team B as it were. This one is more like the Fantasy Mosaics series which I usually buy but... they are kind of boring because there is so little challenge. I hope the developers will tighten up the difficulty to the games of the previous quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Same game format, same music gets boring I own all the previous games in the Travel Mosaics series, but I won't be spending my money on this one. It's the same mini game types, the same achievements and even the same music. Seriously, why the same music in each and every game?? I also found that the grid solutions had very little to do with Vienna. If you have never played any of the previous Travel Mosaics games before, then you will probably enjoy this one. But no new features or innovative thought was put into Waltzing Vienna so I'll have to pass on it and re-play the versions I already own.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from seems the same I understand why they can put out so many of the travel mosaic games. They are basically all the same. I would almost bet even some of the puzzles are recycled. Same puzzles at the end. I can simply replay some of the earlier versions without paying to buy a 'new' version of the same game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too much "bubbly"....... The colors are way too similar to even discern what is already done and what needs to be done. And the "bubbly" appearance of the squares is just unnecessary and annoying.
